  • When BMW released the RnineT on an unsuspecting world, we saw that BMW engineers did actually know how to have fun. Now, with the launch of the RnineT Scrambler, the party is in full swing. Mat travelled to Germany to take a first look and came away impressed. Oh, and, no; he didn't go anywhere near a dirt trail so its off-road capabilities were completely untried. Just so you know...

    Awesome machine ! Got one a little while back and does not disappoint. Seat is quite comfortable ( at least for me) .Maybe it depends on your rear end or something else you are used to.Sure the standard R9T has better forks and a tach, blah blah . Who cares? Have handlebar risers on mine and makes it perfect for my height (6'2"} and seating position. Prob fine without them .R9T too small for me.this one is in a class of it's own. The karoo 3's are good, no issues. Do not drive it off road much at all.And did I forget about the aesthetics of this bike? Well, that's obvious.needless to say,recommend

    What does the "forks have been kicked out a bit" mean? Does it mean the rake angle has been changed or has the fork length been extended? - Just found out... There is a head angle diff of 2.3 degrees. It would have been nice to know how the compromise of that feels on the road compared to the RnineT in stock form. Thanks to The Bike show for informing. • @IgnitionBikeShow
      @IgnitionBikeShow  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have raced in the SA Boxer Cup. Everybody scraped the cylinders there, and in a track situation you might be able to scrape these heads as well, though with the 'scrambler' look there is a bit more ground clearance, so possibly they won't.
      Even if you do scrape them, as long as it's a gentle scrape you'll get away without levering the front off the deck. I even had sliders on my Bee Em's heads.

    • @GorillaProduction38
      @GorillaProduction38 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I own a BMW RnineT since its launch and I've never scratched the cylinders... but it is also true that I've never leaned that far even though my riding style is a little bit aggressive. This bike is beautiful, responsive, well balanced and trustworthy, things which unfortunately I cannot say about my other "mistress", my T100 Bonnie...well, except for the beauty part.
      The only way you could scratch them is when you squeeze in between two cars at a traffic light but for that you have the optional cylinder protection covers. Worth the investment.

      The opposed twin is the whole centerpiece of the bike which is built around that masterpiece of engineering. For decades BMW has built variations of that same engine and it is the whole point of these bikes. But, everyone has their own taste and we have to allow for that. I think your mind might be changed if you actually rode this bike or any R bike for the past 80 years. Here's a link to the history and development of the engine and its design.
