I think that was THE BEST spaghetti i*ve ever ever ever made in life and I added some hot and mild italian sausage and I ddn*t add sugar I added a red bell pepper instead. Throughout the years I changed my quick sauce(Prego ect.) I too add sugar to cut the acidity of the tomatoes. It takes it to a whole nother level! It's a must for my homemade sauce. But I will say it's only to contrast with the salt. Too much sugar will make me sick to the stomach and my family as well. Thanks for your recipe Ms. Chris!

Thanks for the video. Looks great. When I cook spaghetti, I cook a lot and usually do a large spaghetti bake. I do a heavy meat sauce layer first but I don't layer the middle, I mix everything, including the cheeses, in the middle, then do a very heavy cheese topping with a light layer of tomato sauce on top. Also, I break my spaghetti into spoon and fork friendly sizes. I use one of those large 22 quart countertop roasters and slow bake it. When done, the heavy top cheese layer has melted down so I do another layer, let it melt some then torch it to make a top crust. It's a massive dish. One great thing about spaghetti and spaghetti bake is that it freezes well if it's vacuum sealed. It easily lasts two years and it's just as good as the day it was cooked.

usually fry leftover sket here, i just chop the noodles up short and if theres not enough sautee some things first then dump it in...lotta things you can add to it ofc, mushrooms n garlic etc etc etc
Your dish looks wonderful and as an Italian, I love your spin on plain ol' spaghetti which Italians eat almost every day of their lives. Monday through Sunday means another opportunity to eat some version of macaroni or spaghetti with a glass of red wine. You have come up with a viable American version of that Italian staple and I love it! You are the greatest!

Just want to thank you for posted this video. I fixed your recipe for my family yesterday and we all loved it! (I didn't add the sugar.) We had some leftover and it was even better today for supper. Love watching your videos.
This really made me hungry! May I suggest that, instead of sugar, try adding 1-2 teaspoons of baking soda to any red sauce while it's cooking. It cuts the acidity and makes the sauce sweeter without the calories/carbs. Adjust the amount to how much sauce there is; you may need more if cooking a huge pot of sauce.
Hi Ms Chris, I followed your recipe to a T! It's in the oven now! I appreciate that you explain the reason why you do certain steps. The other recipes I've seen always have an ingredient outside of my budget. Thanks for inspiring us to get started. Keep doing what you do how you do it!
I loved it mama....you put thesauce in the pan first..yessss. I wanted to get a feel on how to prepare it and you did a great job. I see folks user cheddar cheese and I like it...but like you the mozzarella cheese gives it the pull or stringy part of the cheese. I also loved the idea of the Italian sausage on the side.

Ok, this is the 2nd recipe I made of Chris in one week and again.....bravo!!! It was sooo good. Next time I would only add 1 tbsp of sugar even though its for the acidity and a bit more salt. Other then that is was amazing. Thank u Ms. Chris!!
Prego is the sweetest store brand pasta sauce on the market! My marinara has no herbs zero it's not supposed to but it is the most delicious sauce I have ever had. Sorry I'm Not tooting my own horn it's just delicious and I have taught some people how to make it. I learned in Italy and there is no nonsense in the sauce. :-) I'm going to make this recipe! I want to teach my granddaughter how to make it and how to make my sauce.

Mrs.chris i did your spaghetti today and it was good.i didnt put the cheese on top and back i like it that but my husband dont lol... I added the sugar to it which is something I normally dont do i see whsy you're talking about it does bring the taste out and balancing. I will be doing this again.

To save time and pan cleaning, I put the onions and peppers in with the meat and cook them together, the veggies still cook in the meat juice.
