Despite all her challenges and the abuse she suffered at the hands of the institution, she did GREAT things in her short life.

I'm so surprised that wasn't the focus of your review, especially as that's likely to be the thing that causes a massive amount of hurt and outrage this side of the pond...
I agree with you. Although I think Grace is just reviewing the portrayal of the queen in the Show NOT in real life. She even states "if any of this is true" @ 1320.
The queen is also universally hated by many. Shes just a public figure, and shes even less so in this show- shes a character. Grace doesnt have to review a character with any reverence IMO
I'm from the UK and I'm indifferent. I didn't know her, so wouldn't affect in any way, like a lot of people I know. I don't hate her either, just indifferent, lol
Most of the backlash the Royal Family has faced about Diana is that her tragic passing has made her idolized by many. If the same tragedy occurred to Charles and Camilla, we would have said that it was karma, to say the least. It's time, after 26 years, to stop the idolization of the character and to understand the problems of the person behind it.
This new season is honestly pretty great! It has slow moments in some episodes, however EVERY episode has moments that are just dazzling. The early bad reviews certainly feel like people trying to protect the real counterpart’s reputations.
When Charles was hanging out with the young kids doing some break dancing, I knew the series jumped the shark. I'm out, thanks for four incredible seasons of The Crown.
Without watching the video, just wanted to put in my review of this season "Rich people like their boats and we're supposed to feel sorry when they lose their boat. Oh right, Diana is in here too."
Grace do you think you’ll review the new Interview with the Vampire show on AMC? I’m dying to know what your thoughts on it would be 🤔 P.S always light up when I get a notification that you’ve uploaded ❤
Has nobody noticed that this young blonde strongly resembles Michelle Pfeiffer? I googled it immediately after noticing her, and how surprised I was to learn that Dodi Fayed really dated Michelle Pfeiffer.
Only a fool would think that everything the characters say in the show they said in real life. Like how would anyone know what they said behind closed doors off camera. With that being said we do KNOW what happened because they told us and much was reported on and caught on film
great season and it’s nice to see both charles and diana portrayed well and stories shown. the media only focus on diana and i do think it’s unfair coz they were both at fault
I felt like Charles was portrayed like he probably is. Sure he wanted to modernize the monarchy and use his platform to help others. But he was/is also a selfishly entitled royal, acting like a spoiled brat because mummy wouldn’t abdicate for him. He also wanted desperately to surpass mummy’s popularity, which I think hugely motivated his good works. He never did, though, and I am thoroughly happy about that.
I thought Dominic West did a horrendous job. Yes, he was miscast to begin with- but he could have done a ton more to capture the essence of Charles (e.g., awkwardness in his physical movement/ gangliness) and clearly didn’t put in the effort. I hope he gets no noms for his work.
Grace I was so pumped to see this review! I can't wait to binge it next weekend (seriously though why did Netflix have to drop the episodes on a Wed?) After watching so many of your videos you inspired me to have snack themes with my viewings, I'm gonna have fish and chips for dinner and snack on tea and biscuits! :)
I feel sad for Princess Margret’s story. She seems to be like a tragic figure. She will never take the throne, but have to sacrifice for being the sloppy second and give up her happiness to support “the system”. I can understand why Prince Harry is like “I am not going to be that sucker and live life miserably”. Like what’s the point of having money and power when you have to live life by other peoples’ rules?
GRACE!!! PLs for the love of god look these events up before believing them...like, idk what it is with this season but Diana's depiction is straight up iffy compared to the boost that Charles gets
Unfortunately, the most unsatisfactory season so far. And I think it was a little distasteful to not even write any kind of dedication to the Queen and Prince Philip seeing as they both passed away while this season was in production. I used to like this show. But it feels like the staff only cares about taking and taking from the royal family. They refused to put disclaimers that not everything in the story is accurate even though the parliament requested it, now they can’t even be bothered to put a simple memoriam for the real people they took stories from. They are opportunists who seem to become so arrogant and I’m not sure I want to support in the future.
I haven't seen The Crown, but I'm glad to hear that Charles is getting a fair shake in the show. I've always liked him (based on available evidence) and I'm proud to have him as King. (Sidenote: It's quite strange to me that making a show about someone who is still alive, without their permission, is allowed. How is that moral by the standards of common decency and privacy?)
A monarch is the definition of a public figure. I can see an argument when it comes to athletes, actors and even convicted criminals, but artists should always have the right to depict and examine political figures.
@@AllGreyEverything I'd argue that everyone has a right to a private life, including royalty. Then there's the question of how accurately they're being depicted. A show, after all, is designed to entertain, not to be perfectly true and fair. And yet a show has the power to reshape and ruin the reputations of real people.

Ofcourse he's king they are going to make it pro-charles .... And it's not I. Your place to say someone wouldn't listen to a therapist... That's a very archaic thing to say...
A Royal reporter, Rebecca English, on the weekly Daily Mail show on TH-cam has said she has seen parts of season 5 and maybe all of it. She says parts of it get very close to the edge of being defamatory. The Crown is currently filming season 6 now and has filmed Diana's funeral and her being in the car in Paris and up the the moment of the accident. There are photos online of filming the funeral and the car scenes in Paris on the actual streets where it happened.
It’s kind of ironic that “Royal Reporters” and tabloids like the Daily Mail were more than happy to milk all the drama in Charles’ and Diana’s lives when it was happening, but now feel the need to be gatekeepers of the reputations of royals.

I have seen a lot of people from the UK say they were not mourning the queens death at all so 🤷🏽♀️
Most of the backlash the Royal Family has faced about Diana is that her tragic passing has made her idolized by many. If the same tragedy occurred to Charles and Camilla, we would have said that it was karma, to say the least. It's time, after 26 years, to stop the idolization of the character and to understand the problems of the person behind it.
Diana was globally famous even before she died. She was nicknamed The People's Princess and England's Rose when she was alive.
Yes. Thank you for that sobering reminder.
I liked Season 4 so much better. This season was kind of boring for me, and I’m not a huge fan of the new cast.
First you say this is fiction based on reality, but then you go on to talk as if the events and how they happened are true. Make up your mind.
Can’t wait to binge!!!
Yessss to the shout-out for Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell - that is a class act, and the book's one of my favourite works of all time. Watch it!
i don't remember anything like the level backlash when the crown season 4 came out, maybe it was because the queen hadn't died then
This new season is honestly pretty great! It has slow moments in some episodes, however EVERY episode has moments that are just dazzling. The early bad reviews certainly feel like people trying to protect the real counterpart’s reputations.
It is slow but remains interesting till the end. People who criticizes how boring it is can’t learn how to immerse the episodes 😒
I don’t think Prince Harry can defend Diana with a deal with Netflix for millions of dollars
After Better Call Saul, The Crown has the best writers working in the medium.
When Charles was hanging out with the young kids doing some break dancing, I knew the series jumped the shark. I'm out, thanks for four incredible seasons of The Crown.
Apparently it happened in real life.
Interesting dissection and insights Grace. Thanks for reviewing it!
I have to say The Queen change after Diana's death. The movie The Queen is very good in thay matter
You are definitely pro Charles definitely evident in your commentary
Wow, thanks for this early review! I definitely have this booked for the weekend!
Guy Fawkes tried to destroy the parliament building, not kill the king
Were you expecting The Crown to be accurate? Lol
Without watching the video, just wanted to put in my review of this season "Rich people like their boats and we're supposed to feel sorry when they lose their boat. Oh right, Diana is in here too."
You ate that Grace! 💗
Yo would make an amazing podcast Grace 🤟🏻 Love your input as always 💜
I'm just over the royal family and don't care lol. From what I have seen a lot of people in the UK are over them too lol
Yeah. A lot of people in your biased eco chamber.
@@richierich7229 🤣🤣 You are hilarious
Love your commentary. Thanks Grace!
Grace do you think you’ll review the new Interview with the Vampire show on AMC? I’m dying to know what your thoughts on it would be 🤔
P.S always light up when I get a notification that you’ve uploaded ❤
Great review Grace. I need to play catch-up ❤
I'm glad Charles is being treated with a little bit more Equality in the series.
Does Diana die in this season?
great season and it’s nice to see both charles and diana portrayed well and stories shown. the media only focus on diana and i do think it’s unfair coz they were both at fault
Will be Titans IV review?
I felt like Charles was portrayed like he probably is. Sure he wanted to modernize the monarchy and use his platform to help others. But he was/is also a selfishly entitled royal, acting like a spoiled brat because mummy wouldn’t abdicate for him. He also wanted desperately to surpass mummy’s popularity, which I think hugely motivated his good works. He never did, though, and I am thoroughly happy about that.
The decade of the 1990s is *history* , like it or not! 😟😦
Oh for the a sake of god it’s a drama something like the bold and the beautiful just enjoy the blooming thing and stop analyzing. Jeeeezzzz
I really cant wait to watch it, do they spend enough time on Fergie and Andrew? that was a pretty big scandal at the time.
The Crown doesn't think people other Charles and Diana matter.
I thought Dominic West did a horrendous job. Yes, he was miscast to begin with- but he could have done a ton more to capture the essence of Charles (e.g., awkwardness in his physical movement/ gangliness) and clearly didn’t put in the effort. I hope he gets no noms for his work.
lol I cant believe they got sm that cute to play Charles...like, girl...he's the only one in the cast who looks NOTHING like the real person
lol. True British cuisine. It brings a patriotic tear to my eye. 🥲
This comment totally made my day :)
Do you have to squawk? So high pitched it’s unlistenable
Grace! You’re the first to drop a review, I’m so excited to watch this season. Great assessment, ready to sip the tea ☕️
Don’t become a hater on Diana like the press of the day did to an extent that led to her death ultimately
Bertie Carvel is in this???? YAY!
@@DavidM_10 making art SPECULATING about someone's private thoughts and actions isn't an invasion of privacy. Paparazzi and hackers invade private lives, narrative films don't.
@@AllGreyEverything Mike Tyson disagrees with you. He was very angry about a show that was recently made about his life and tried to get it stopped.
@@DavidM_10 someone being upset because they didn't get to profit from a portrayal has nothing to do with privacy. Private conversations aren't being aired and images of him in places where he had a reasonable expectation of privacy aren't being shown. There's not really an argument to be made about that.
Ofcourse he's king they are going to make it pro-charles .... And it's not I. Your place to say someone wouldn't listen to a therapist... That's a very archaic thing to say...
Wasn't this filmed before he became king?
I’m only episode 2 of season 3 but you make me want to catch up right now. I’m tempted to skip just to see what ur talking abt 😂
Sounds like it deserves the bad rotten tomatoes.
Beautiful as Alwayz Mija 🥂😍🥂
No intro and just straight into the review. 😂
Can't wait for season 5. Rip Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip.
Thank you Grace, I've been waiting for someone to post a review, and it's no surprise yours went out first. You're always ON IT.
I think this is pretty solid, and I'm excited to see it. Thank you for all the work that you do.
Also, the House of The Dragon references are exactly what I was thinking 🤣👌
Now I'm ACTUALLY wondering which one I'll like better...
