I felt this was the first really weak season. There were very good elements, but the casting was not as good as it has been, and the storylines verged on the ludicrous. I think as a whole, what let the season down was the casting of Staunton as Elizabeth, and that the script reduced her to a cold, grumpy out of touch woman, incapable of love for her husband, children, and we don’t really get any sense of her ceremonial/political role, either. She’s an unlikeable supporting character in her own story.
I was disappointed with the writing for the queen it showed her as pushed to the side where I’m sure her majesty was always front and Center with good insight
Season 4 was awesome. Wish the cast from s4 continued into s5 - all characters in s4 were marvellous esp those who played Diana , Camilla , Charles , his sister, the Queen Mother , the Queen & her husband ..they couldve just aged their appearences with prosthetics. S5 is already dead & drooly with a boring script & screenplay - add to that new faces u cant relate with so easily
I appreciate that the Crown has always been fairly fair to both Charles and Diana the last two seasons… we can understand the motivations and challenges of their predicament, and thank god we didn’t have a whole season of them at each other’s throats. But as for being pro-Charles, I’m not sure we were watching the same season… instead of fighting Diana all season, he was plotting against Elizabeth. What a bizarre choice, as I don’t think I’ve heard this allegation been thrown at him before. Mind you, the way they’ve decided to portray Philip and Elizabeth towards Charles, it’s no wonder he’d rebel. They’ve both, in the show, assumed he’s too soft, stupid and ill-suited to be heir and have been unbearably cruel to him. If that was real, I’d try to get the old bat fired, too. Lol… but while it’s often said that Andrew (shudder) was her favourite child, there’s no reason to assume that both E&P were cold, mean and unloving to Charles. Most footage I’ve seen has shown how deeply Charles cared for his parents, which would hardly be the case if they were constantly horrible to him.
The segment about Charles going to see Diana the day of the divorce is ridiculous and not believable - at least the way the dialog was crafted. It was a waste of screen time.
This scene was written into The Diana Chronicles, author Tina Brown, published 2007. I think people would think it's boring because the main stories brought up are very known by everyone, since they've been told a LOT of times in documentaries and all that stuff, apart from some specific stories like Sydney Johnson (I didn't know of this one). Also maybe people would think Diana's death would be on this season (IDK...). But, overall, I like this season.
I watched all the seasons of the crown I have to say the previous ones were good tv shows however Season 5 was so boring I would not recommend this to anyone but I think sometimes you have to watch something to make your own mind up the actors where okay the Princess Diana character was ok but the head tilt was over the top
I couldn't agree more...season 5 is very boring and compared to all the previous seasons this one is terrible.Should have stopped with season 4. Having said that they should have kept the original actors kept them all the same but that's just my opinion. 1 out of 1-10
The Crown makers shouldn't have wasted a whole episode on the Fayeds and two episodes on Diana's interview. They should have thrown some extra light on annus horribilis and stretched it for two episodes so that people can really connect to that really horrible year. Annus Horribilis episode was so fast paced and depthless.
Season 5 Seeks to rewrite what history judged on Charles and Camilla. The season 5 shows a non real Diana, there is no coverage as to her charity work, her presence- it shows her only in her love interest and lounging on a sofa clicking votes about. I just really dislike when I see a show being used to "brainwash" us into believing that Camilla and Charles are nice people by rewriting history. This is what I really disliked, seeing the show used as Propaganda for the current regime.
The scene of Charles and Diana meeting after the divorce was totally inaccurate. Diana voting for No Monarchy was also inaccurate. Doesn't show Diana doing any good works just sitting at home all day looking sad. No doubt she was sad at times, but not all the time!
I am on episode 3 and I honestly don't like it. The previous seasons either examined how the Queen dealt with certain situations/'crisis's or the RF during certain changes in the country. None of that is really being shown (from what I have seen so far)
This season is strange. The actress playing the queen was a bad choice and the actor playing Charles is so wrong. They did very well with Diana, but it was so slow and filmed in a strange way.
Dominic West is beefy, cocky and confident ...and regretfully miscast as Prince Charles who is portrayed in previous seasons as a hunched over insecure introvert. The fact that Princess Diana towers over him only makes matters worse. West seems more like a character actor that rarely changes his style despite playing totally different roles.

I think that this was the least engaging Crown season of all. It never grabbed me, or pulled me in. On some episodes, I moved about the room doing my bits and bobs, not glued to the screen as I used to be in the earlier seasons. The entire narrative throughout is Charles trying to steal the throne from the Queen, not just in one episode as I originally understood, but through the entire season. Gets tiresome after the 3rd. Additionally, Diana is made out to basically be a dim blond who cares more for getting her leg over than she does for anyone in heart surgery on an operating table. There are no story lines for any of the characters such as the prime minister or the queens relationships with any of the those characters. Was this written by Meghan by any chance?
Season 5 was ok, but not great. I liked the other seasons more, esp. seasons 4 and 2. It felt too slow, covering only 5 years this time. I thought we'd see the accident this season, but it'll be season 6 then. And while i praised Staunton after watching the trailers i unfortunatly don't like her on screen performance. Also, the new Charles is visibly miscast and him trying to take his mothers throne so dearly is not really backed up by any evidence i am aware of.
It is a fictional drama, not a documentary, sadly, many do not realise this. The script is entirely fictitious, it is only the historical events that are factual.
The Fayeds family story inclusion was jarring. It didn't fit the crown. More stories about all the family members would have been better. We all know the Charles/Diana story. This was the worst season.
At the time, apparently, both Charles and Diana didn't want the wedding to go ahead but felt it was too late to stop it. Also, as I remember him, Prince Phillip was not quite so cuddly but rather coarse sometimes. He forced Charles to go to his old school which he, himself, hated. This was done well, in the series but now he seems to have turned into father of the year. Diana was overdone which spoiled it for me.
A bit controversial, but I really wanted Charles Dance as Prince Phillip. The one we have just didn't have the same pizzazz as previous seasons and it was a let down for me.
@@Ferox2121 I think it could have been reversed. Pryce should have been Mountbatten and Dance should have been Philip. The personalities of Pryce and Mountbatten seem well suited tbh as does Dance and Philip.
The show is not as good as expected. It is certainly less explosive than I thought...But that's a good thing! I feel like the characters are insufficiently developed, they only show snapshots and the filmmakers' interpretation of those moments behind the scene. It feels terribly subjective...and the characters sort of lack glue, they're seen from a limited angle, that's what I feel.. Like the filmmakers don't quite understand who these people really are, deep down. They just show things that we know happened and then draw from them a parallel story kind of like a fan-fiction.
Just listened/ watch! OMG thay made Diana sound so much like whinging Harry and meaging... He should be so ashamed. ! . I don't remember her being so week and negative! I'm so sorry that he thinks his mum was so weak and insecure and had no self worth, I would really hate my children to think of me this way.
Especially the first two episode... The third episode would be a great episode for a spin-off focusing on the waleses, as many other episodes in this season.
Seasons 1-4 were really interesting and enjoyed every episode. The same cannot be said for season 5. I found it boring and presumptuous. It's as though they have different script writers and many of the actors are completely wrong. Good example is the actress who plays the Queen Mother.

Yes i think season 5 is a little bit boring and i almost fast forwarded episodes in order to complete it soon ....waiting for next season with good hopes
This is an appetizer for season 6 - it was a “fair” portrayal/dramatization of the key royal players. Not too pro Diana or Pro Charles. It portrayed them both with faults. Why can’t they make the Queen cheerful, though? In footage she is smiling and cheerful. The Crown makes her always seem too serious. Other than that, it was an okay season. Well shot (get over the casting as they’ve said time and time again that they are capturing the essence of the real people not carbon copies…for all those critiquing that, please do your research)
Season 1 was Elizabeth. It was glorious. Season 2 was Margaret. It was wonderful. Season 3 was Phillip. It was strong. Season 4 was Diana. It was desperate. Season 5 was Charles. It was gloomy. Season 6 will be William. It will be hopeful.
Before even listening to this video, I must say, this was the weakest season of them all. What does it say about casting when renown actors take over roles that are so known and it becomes the less engaging one? I can pick an outstanding moment/scene for every of the previous seasons but this one, nothing. Possibly the one character that raises the bar is Jonny Lee Miller as PM Majors and Salim Daw in all related to Simon Johnson and his role as a father.

I rate season 5. 6/10 Season 3 and 4. The best. 10/10 Season 1 and 2. Very good 8/10 Didn’t like season 5 Didn’t show Diana’s boyfriends and her squigy tapes Very one sided People have said. Kanga not in it and mark Phillips love child. Didn’t know about Janet Jenkins And Charles. Good to see the holiday in the boat with the kids and the knatchbulls that was a good episode Australia 🇦🇺
Totally over this show. I think they should have stopped sooner. Of course they are making it more dry and spinning subtlely towards Charles and Camilla. They have to.
I didn’t like Elizabeth Debicki playing Diana… way overplayed the head movements and the look with her eyes, made her look not honest and at times cheap and deceiving, also she is portrayed as a woman a bit desperate for sex, not to mention they made her look like she was conspiring to overthro the monarchy… also the actress was way too skinny. Now Charles being played the role as the “poor misunderstood Charles”. The Queen, not very impressive her acting as Elizabeth the II. Honestly very disappointed, not worth it to watch.
I remember the royal scandals of the 90s, it was relentless and intense. I expected season 5 to reflect this mayhem and be like watching a spectacular train crash, and I was kind of dissapointed. Also the season just doesnt have the epicness of the other ones, not even much 90s nostalgia iconography either. Im wondering if covid just made production more difficult than it otherwise would have been
Soooo bad. Like a low budget soap, Diana is reduced to a bag full of her (considerable) flaws and little else, KC3 is canonised via Princes Trust LMAO.
Yep like most on here I’m finding it boring, nearly fell asleep watching it tonight, casting is very off too, Charles -nah, Diana- ok, Queen -ok, Anne- ok apart from the terrible wig!! Queen Mum- nah far too tall, Margaret ok ish 😬
Dominic West is beefy, cocky and confident ...and regretfully miscast as Prince Charles who is portrayed in previous seasons as a hunched over insecure introvert. The fact that Princess Diana towers over him only makes matters even worse. West seems more like a character actor that rarely changes his style despite playing totally different roles.
In the words of Mme. Thatcher, no, no, no - it has lost its appeal - too much time has passed? the death of the Queen and PP?Cast is boring and story is as well.
Season 5 was largely miscast and seemingly poorly written. Whereas all previous seasons had well developed plots, especially 1 and 2, this season seemed disconnected as it moved from not just episode to episode but even from scene to scene. More of a “The Charles and Diana Soap Opera” this year, in contrast to all previous seasons, in which queen was front and center, where she should be. Yes, the 90s were a significant period for Charles and Diana, and the story of it needed to be covered, but I think there should have been less emphasis put on it, as we were told there would be some years back
I felt this season was weak. I just don’t think Imelda Staunton captured the role. I didn’t get the continuation that was so brilliantly played between Foy and Colman. Peter Morgan should have gone back and asked Helen Mirren to play the Queen again. It would have been a nice tie in. But yes Olivia playing camilla was chefs kiss and Dominic West was surprisingly good. Special shout out to Jonny Lee Miller playing Major. Was not on my 2022 bingo card. Finally this sounds really petty but what happened to the great soundtrack from seasons past? Awesome tunes like Duck shoot, Government, Limerick and the Letter by Rupert Gregson William are severely lacking inS5. They added spectacle and gravitas to each perfectly crafted scene, but alas no more (I’ll stop now because I’m being a bit too obsessive! Lol)
I loved the view of the monarchy from the perspective of Mou Mou and Sydney Johnson. I loved Sydney Johnson story. Also, the post mortum of the marriage was great. Every divorce I've heard about has had one of these. I'm glad it was included. Lastly, I agree with others that 1992 should have been done better....
I find it all very boring. My favorite seasons were the first two, with Claire Foy. I truly enjoyed her portrayal of the Queen. And the story lines were fascinating because of the history. I've stuck with it, and even enjoyed some of Olivia Colman's performances. Some of the story lines in seasons 3 and 4 were interesting. But there was a lot more they could have covered before Diana enters the picture. Season 5 is all gossip, and innuendo. We all remember the headlines. The tell-all books. Why do we need to re-live this oft told story? I'd rather explore some of the lesser known storylines, the ones that didn't make the headlines.

I loved season 5, I got really tired of Margaret Thatcher In 4. So I’m glad there more about Al Fayed and his part in the Diana disaster and I enjoyed the scene where prince Philips character talks about grief and how it effects us, so well said! I’m watching it all a second time because I loved Diana a lot and got up early in USA to watch the marriage and followed her a lot while she was living. I feel very sad for her. Great show I hope they go until the Queens death this year, then stop the series.
Well, writer Peter Morgan had his then girlfriend Gillian Anderson play Margaret Thatcher. That was why she was the centrepoint of season 4. Way too much. It was much better now with John Major being British PM.
Lots of drama, but no content. Think that previous prince charles was a more accurate casting. The prince of season five is a political appointment. Lol
Watched 2 episodes but its a load of crap in my opinion. On balance I think I'd rather have my fingernails ripped off than watch anymore, so I'm afraid I'll be giving the rest a miss!
I am quite disappointed with the the Crown series 6. Diana is not portrayed in any way convincingly. She is way too tall - and not as Beautiful and pretty as Diana. I was bored for the most part, but I did enjoy Prince Phillip and Prince Charles. Overall...not good"
I am enjoying it. I think that there is evidence for the inferences made. I did not take episode 1 as Charles trying to force an abdication. I took it as he was not unhappy to have been compared favourably with the Queen. I have no doubts that he railed against having to cool his heels waiting for his long lived mother carries on. The Queen was the boss and was responsible for all the poor choices that were made. She spent a lot of time and energy doing things the way her father did. It really is not a leap to see that as being out of touch given he reigned from 1937 to 1952. They used Diana to breed an heir but never considered her needs as a self-actualising human, not the least of which was a husband who loved her.
I remember, at the time, the newspapers were suggesting that maybe the Queen should abdicate but that's all it was, nothing that was seriously thought of.
This season was the most climactic whilst awaiting its' premiere but then most anticlimactic when you've watched it. The previous seasons are much broader, we were used to getting a very varied point of view, not only seeing one aspect of 'The Crown' e.g. family dynamics, political dynamics, national and international aspects but from Season 3-4 it is much more narrowed down to Charles and Diana and I found myself being oversaturated with Charles & Diana this season whilst being left wanting a lot more from the other characters and members of the Royal Family. I was quite disappointed with the annus horribilis because I expected to see a much more detailed depiction of the divorces, separations and Windsor Fire but instead we got subtle conversations to nod at the other divorces, separations and relationship changes, a brief look at the Windsor Castle Fire and too much of Charles and Diana. I, for one, would have preferred a little less of them and more of Anne, Mark, Tim & Andrew and Sarah Ferguson and at least a clear up-front shot of Edward & Sophie but instead it was the public and a distant camera focused on a horse carriage which could have had absolutely anybody inside. I was also disappointed politically as this season we saw much less of Downing Street and British Politics, although we see John Major, it's rarely in his actual capacity as Prime Minister, A Political Leader instead of PM, Friends with the Queen and Therapist/Mediator to Charles & Diana. I was also disappointed in the amount of episodes that was primarily just Charles & Diana. In Season 3 & 4, I was disappointed that we didn't really see any of the other Royal Marriages or Separations but this season just felt like I was trying to pull teeth to see the Queen's 3 other children. I was so happy to see a scene of King George V & Queen Mary, I also loved seeing the story of Sydney Johnson and I really hope this was another test to see if the appetite is there for their prequel idea although I would want a much broader viewpoint. I don't know how to feel about Season 6, I am somewhat underwhelmed in awaiting it's release, whenever that happens. I know they casted for William & Catherine but after seeing how they focused so much on Charles & Diana, I fear that we will be over-sold in the trailer, just like this season. I found myself expecting much more drama and insight than what the trailer showed but instead I feel as if the trailer showed us so much of all the non-Charles&Diana stuff and the amount of scenes that were showed in the trailer where I was expecting more but the trailer clip of the scene was the suspenseful moment made me very underwhelmed. I am not sure if they considered looking into the more extended members who aren't going to wear the crown one day but for a now 50 episode series, I feel as if I have had enough of Charles & Diana and not enough of everyone else. For me, Season 5 was enjoyable, it certainly had moments that I loved, especially that flashback scene to King George V & Quee Mary and the Tsar & Tsarina of Russia as well as the story of the Al Fayed's and Sydney Johnson but I absolutely think they went too in-depth with Diana & Charles and not enough of even the Queen herself. I think if this was their plan all along, they should have made it more of a smoother transition because in Season 1, we saw so many storylines of so many different people and from Season 4-5 it has closed right in on three people, The Queen, Charles & Diana and I was disappointed with the lack of everyone else. I am still such a fan of the show, it doesn't mean I can't disagree and I really hope they do the prequel from Queen Victoria to Queen Elizabeth's wedding but in a broader viewpoint rather than the narrow lane Season 5 have left us in. I hope if the prequel happens it will cover more of Queen Victoria's children & grandchildren dispered across the monarchies of Europe as well as stories like Sydney Johnson, I loved watching the story of the Duke of Windsor and I hope in the prequel they will go in-depth to his abdication a little more. In terms of the actors, I was so pleased with Imelda as the Queen, although I would have liked to see the happier, loving more humouros side to the Queen instead of the cold and grumpy portrayal we got, Elizabeth as Diana - I loved it, nothing bad to say, Dominic as Charles - excellent portrayal but I would have liked to see more positive things about him like more in-depth into the Prince's Trust, Climate Change, etc. I was not a fan of the casting of Prince Philip, made it very hard to believe and took me out of the fantasy. Spot on for Margaret but I would have liked to have seen some scenes with her children as we never got any of that. Very happy with Anne and Andrew but again, want more of them, their families and I can't even recall Edward which is awful because they did 'cover' his wedding if you can even call it that. I find the Queen Mother to be so hard to cast from a viewer because S1&2 the appearance was good but not spot on, S3&4 the appearance was much better but then again S5 completely lost, the appearance was not there at all. I would like to comment on Timothy, Sarah, Sophie but they never speak or get that much of a close up which is disappointing. I really had much higher hopes but from previous seasons it seems to look like historical stories and characters go over much better because in Season 1 & 2 I felt like the characters were very good and we got a more well rounded point of view and story where as now we're just in Charles & Diana world with the odd appearance from a supporting cast member and the Queen is more sprinkled out and only portrayed for the negative scenes.
I do not like the actress playing the Queen! The story line is horrible! If you did not know the history you would be lost! The Plot skips around so much! The dignity of the Queen is lost and Diana looks psychologically impaired, all she is doing is CRYING! Charles seen as moving against the Queen is terrible! I found it boring!
Its been a horrible season so far (5 episodes in) . Terrible writing and even worse casting! Some of the storylines have been very boring; the Prince Philip carriage repairing episode really takes the cake! The acting is above average which saves the show. Overall a disappointment so far.
I thought it was brilliant……. Am riveted…… Elizabeth Debeki was utterly believable, she had the mannerisms and voice perfectly.. I feel awards in the air . Imelda Staunton is excellent…… couldn’t fault it .
I have never watched it but none of thisvis new its all old news it won't worry the roylfamily and as fir the upcoming Netflix thing nothing we don't know alreddy the book well wath can I say pure wingers fast oh hsrry u fool
I have watched all the seasons and in the past couldn't wait to see the next one each time. Season six just is not as good as the others probably for several reasons. I agree the character of Camilla was the best one in season 6. Season 6 was slow and a little boring compared to the rest.
A dull, dull watch. If you're going to tell a story get your facts right or call it something else. A woke production for woke viewers who dnt think for themselves or do their own research. Netflix subscription cancellation definitely on now.
I think I enjoyed it more due to it being the first era I remember, all the events and tv shows in scenes. But even I laughed for the past day about The Queen reacting to Beavis and Butthead
Season 5 is the annus horribilis of the show. Not necessarily bad, but a bit dull and it feels like the show lost it charms this time.
Absolutely.
💯
Agreed
A bit flat for sure.
So...not really annus horribillis then if if it's 'not bad', just 'a bit dull'? I'm sure that's what the queen meant when she used that expression 😅.
Whoever is playing Princess Anne looks very similar to Princess Margaret. I also dont know why they can't get the Queen Mother right ever...
I agree on the Queenmother bit. Awful casting of the actresses playing her.
Yes that’s a good point - they wasted Charles dance on Mountbatten- he should have been Phillip - dashing and uncompromising
I think it really depends on personal preference. For me this was the second best season. Season ranking for me 1 -> 5 -> 3 -> 2 -> 4
Totally agreed. It’s a pity but this season let me down too
I agree.
I totally disagree, she is my favorite as the Queen Imelda was spot in!
I was disappointed with the writing for the queen it showed her as pushed to the side where I’m sure her majesty was always front and Center with good insight

Why it feel like prince charles now king is protected in the season?

Because he was. The scenes where they tried to clean up his image were shoehorned in and stood out like sore thumbs.
The segment about Charles going to see Diana the day of the divorce is ridiculous and not believable - at least the way the dialog was crafted. It was a waste of screen time.
I loved that scene. Didn't bother me that it was fictional at all.

Thats cause Diana's actual head tilt was over the top 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
I also think the story line is not as interesting and how the role of the Queen and Crown seems less important to the family drama.

exactly... why was it so horrible...like we only saw a brief convo with andrew, a little smoke and a very serious somber queen nonstop
exacly, Fayeds plot was incredibly boring and I found myself fast forwarding a lot
I loved the "Mou Mou" episode. It was great to learn about Sydney Johnson and also about the fast and high rise of the Al-Fayeds. Beautifully done.
Season 5 fell totally flat for me. Thought there was lots of mis-cast actors and felt they were floundering with many of the stories.

The actress playing Camilla was terrific.
The get together between Princess Margaret and Peter Townsend was over blown and not believable
I absolutely agree
Dominic West is beefy, cocky and confident ...and regretfully miscast as Prince Charles who is portrayed in previous seasons as a hunched over insecure introvert. The fact that Princess Diana towers over him only makes matters worse. West seems more like a character actor that rarely changes his style despite playing totally different roles.
Dominic West has way too much alpha energy to be Charles. Didn’t seem realistic at all.

Felt the casting was wrong for the Queen, Charles, the Queen mother and Anne.

I have tried twice to watch it but cannot stand it. Trouble is we all know the history now. Not interested.
Waited for two years and now cannot finish it.
I binge watched this Season 5, and I have to say I was terribly disappointed. Lackluster and BORING. Disappointed
Diana was
overdone which spoiled it for me.
A bit controversial, but I really wanted Charles Dance as Prince Phillip. The one we have just didn't have the same pizzazz as previous seasons and it was a let down for me.
Well, we had Dance as Lord Mountbatten so this was off the table. But i think that Pryce was goog enough as Phillip.
@@Ferox2121 I think it could have been reversed. Pryce should have been Mountbatten and Dance should have been Philip. The personalities of Pryce and Mountbatten seem well suited tbh as does Dance and Philip.
Me too - Charles would have brought dash to the character but they wasted him on Mountbatten
Completely agree with the lack of pizaz and dash that the other Phillips had - should have been Dance
Oh god thinking the same! Shame he played Mountbatten previously
What they did this season it’s horrible specially to Diana and the queen and trying shine pictures of Charles and camilla 🤮
I was underwhelmed by this season, and why is the Queen Mum so tall? She towers over QE 2.
I love the actress, though--she plays Mrs. Boggle on Agatha Raisin.
And Princess Margaret is like 5 inches taller than the Queen???
Yeah, they never really get the Queen Mum right in terms of looks or personality.
Are these two teenagers employees of the BBC or are they just using the name "Radio Times"?
Just listened/ watch!
OMG thay made Diana sound so much like whinging Harry and meaging...
He should be so ashamed. ! .
I don't remember her being so week and negative!
I'm so sorry that he thinks his mum was so weak and insecure and had no self worth,
I would really hate my children to think of me this way.
It was a bit boring
Especially the first two episode... The third episode would be a great episode for a spin-off focusing on the waleses, as many other episodes in this season.
SO disappointed. Boring and characters were all wrong. The other seasons were so much better.
Seasons 1-4 were really interesting and enjoyed every episode. The same cannot be said for season 5. I found it boring and presumptuous. It's as though they have different script writers and many of the actors are completely wrong. Good example is the actress who plays the Queen Mother.

Yes i think season 5 is a little bit boring and i almost fast forwarded episodes in order to complete it soon ....waiting for next season with good hopes
i skipped the duke of windsor episode. it was painfully boring. it just doesnt feel the same this time. maybe because its so familiar to me.
@@justinwilliams7290 yes felt the same ....
Very boring
Especially the actress who play the Queen Mother
This is an appetizer for season 6 - it was a “fair” portrayal/dramatization of the key royal players. Not too pro Diana or Pro Charles. It portrayed them both with faults. Why can’t they make the Queen cheerful, though? In footage she is smiling and cheerful. The Crown makes her always seem too serious. Other than that, it was an okay season. Well shot (get over the casting as they’ve said time and time again that they are capturing the essence of the real people not carbon copies…for all those critiquing that, please do your research)
She was categorically not cheerful at the time this season was set. She had some of the most miserable years of her life then. What do you expect?
@@EC2019 yeah even Charles in the show notices that when she's speaking about Britannia
Season 1 was Elizabeth. It was glorious.
Season 2 was Margaret. It was wonderful.
Season 3 was Phillip. It was strong.
Season 4 was Diana. It was desperate.
Season 5 was Charles. It was gloomy.
Season 6 will be William. It will be hopeful.
Season 6 will be Harry. It will be triumphant.
Season 5 is so boring
Before even listening to this video, I must say, this was the weakest season of them all. What does it say about casting when renown actors take over roles that are so known and it becomes the less engaging one? I can pick an outstanding moment/scene for every of the previous seasons but this one, nothing. Possibly the one character that raises the bar is Jonny Lee Miller as PM Majors and Salim Daw in all related to Simon Johnson and his role as a father.

Omg it's so awful the characters don't look like the real people at all it horrible.

I rate season 5. 6/10
Season 3 and 4. The best. 10/10
Season 1 and 2. Very good 8/10
Didn’t like season 5
Didn’t show Diana’s boyfriends and her squigy tapes
Very one sided
People have said. Kanga not in it and mark Phillips love child. Didn’t know about Janet Jenkins
And Charles. Good to see the holiday in the boat with the kids and the knatchbulls that was a good episode
Australia 🇦🇺
It is the worst season yet of the Crown. Episode three is the only one worth watching. The rest is a snorefest
Outstanding cast of performers. I have learned so much just watching the Crown.
Totally over this show. I think they should have stopped sooner. Of course they are making it more dry and spinning subtlely towards Charles and Camilla. They have to.
Fun fact: Oliver Chris who played dr James colthurst, played Prince William in the BBC drama King Charles III. It’s a great watch
it was B O R I N G...
Should have used Claire Foy and aged her... as with others... Continuity.
I can't keep up with the changing faces.
I could watch every other season over and over, but this one…awful!
Snooze fest...with a minute here and there of a semi-interesting topic. Disappointed 😞
Boring and extremely far fetched this time round. Worst season of them all
I remember the royal scandals of the 90s, it was relentless and intense. I expected season 5 to reflect this mayhem and be like watching a spectacular train crash, and I was kind of dissapointed. Also the season just doesnt have the epicness of the other ones, not even much 90s nostalgia iconography either. Im wondering if covid just made production more difficult than it otherwise would have been
Felt MM has copied Lady Di a lot
I loved season 5 of The Crown just as I loved all the seasons that went before.
I liked it. It felt melancholy and grey because that was the overall mood of the Royal Family during the 90s.
Why was episode 1 replayed as episode 10, at the end? That was a disappointing ending to an otherwise enjoyable and entertaining production.
In the words of Mme. Thatcher, no, no, no - it has lost its appeal - too much time has passed? the death of the Queen and PP?Cast is boring and story is as well.
I know what this area behind my ear needs! A paw tattoo!!!
That actually went through a person's mind, ladies and gentlemen.
I loved The Crown
This one was pretty good
I loved that it coincided with Charles becoming King & reminded everyone what a jerk he and camilla were
Stereotypical acting. Uplifting towards King Charles III. Luckily we do have the Mr. Bashir interview.
Soo disappointing season.

@Doris Schneider-Coutandin amen to that
I'd like it if it was controversially riveting but it's so mind numbingly boring. The cast was charmless. Except the actors playing Anne and William.
Not in love with this season think the casting is really off with Jonathan price…. well most of the cast …the queen is just cones off as grumpy
There were less to no, Oh Wow factors ........ Not the best.
Waste of time
Bore for sure! Only one episode I enjoyed was mou mou!
The dude cant risk an actual opinion.
Boring. Definately the worst season. The actress Imelda Staunton was a bad choice to play the Queen, awful!, maybe thats what Netflix intended
Love the series on Netflix. So much history! Loved one scene when Prince Charles break dance lol 😆 ♥
History? I don’t think so.
Its been a horrible season so far (5 episodes in) . Terrible writing and even worse casting!
Some of the storylines have been very boring; the Prince Philip carriage repairing episode really takes the cake!
The acting is above average which saves the show.
Overall a disappointment so far.
Except for the Diana character the casting was so off
I really liked the previous seasons. I can't stand this season! so boring!!! I couldn't watch even one whole episode! Boring!!!!
I liked season 5 too.
Totally dull and unwatchable.
I thought it was brilliant……. Am riveted…… Elizabeth Debeki was utterly believable, she had the mannerisms and voice perfectly.. I feel awards in the air . Imelda Staunton is excellent…… couldn’t fault it .
This is the worse season so far. I found it dull
In a word ... disappointing! Pretty dull actually.
I have never watched it but none of thisvis new its all old news it won't worry the roylfamily and as fir the upcoming Netflix thing nothing we don't know alreddy the book well wath can I say pure wingers fast oh hsrry u fool
so we know what and how it happened ... this is just so boring
I have watched all the seasons and in the past couldn't wait to see the next one each time. Season six just is not as good as the others probably for several reasons. I agree the character of Camilla was the best one in season 6. Season 6 was slow and a little boring compared to the rest.
You must be way ahead in the future, as season 6 has not even been completed filming by now. I gather you speak of season 5?
Season 6 does not exist yet.
The worse one so far by mile
Refuse to watch it.
A dull, dull watch. If you're going to tell a story get your facts right or call it something else. A woke production for woke viewers who dnt think for themselves or do their own research. Netflix subscription cancellation definitely on now.
Fabulous tv entertainment, most amusing!
I think I enjoyed it more due to it being the first era I remember, all the events and tv shows in scenes. But even I laughed for the past day about The Queen reacting to Beavis and Butthead
Wonderful season
