I feel like we're settling for too little over here. I flew a domestic flight with Turkish Airlines recently. They offer a complementary sandwich and a hot/soft drink for the 45 minute flight whilst BA gives you tiny bag of cookies for even 4-5 hour flights. All of their planes have IFE screens with impressive selection of recent films and tv shows. They have a younger fleet with cleaner airplanes. The price difference between their budget options and the flag carrier is small considering the difference in service. Here, the price of a BA flight is quite different than the likes of Easyjet but I can't really see much that justifies it. I wish we had at least one good airline based here.
Yeah, I’m with you here. Sadly the European aviation scene struggled greatly with the race to the bottom kicked off by the budget carriers. Unfortunately none of the full service carriers have to date been brave enough to lay on a differentiated higher end experience. Would love to see BA offer this alongside a proper 2-2 short haul business class. Can’t see it any time soon though…
Thank you! Few more vids with the older equipment to come through but otherwise each new one will be with the newer stuff! Dropping on Monday evening UK time 😃
I also do all possible to always fly BA out of Gatwick. Sitting in their club lounge with that magnificent runway view with a glass of bubbly is just to die for 😊
Nice video. The cookies and free glass of water is what differentiates BA Euroflyer from easyJet on this route. I'm looking forward to your BA First trip report next week!
Thank you! Adjusting to the new camera a little! I do prefer the BA seats I must say, in a sucker for the leather haha Releasing on Monday, hoping it does well! 😃
Looks a reasonable flight but totally agree some of BA long and short haul aircraft are really showing there age 22+ years , especially comparing to some of the low cost carriers who's fleets are so much newer, but for me I still prefer to travel with BA Looking forward to the 1st class review, and as other comments please don't speed up the take off.
Newer fleet always more appreciated that’s for sure, it is so obvious as you jump on each aircraft. Can’t wait to get that one out there, not long to go! Appreciate the feedback on the takeoff, will trial the longer footage :)
I simply love BA, in my opinion its a sturdy airline, dependable and you know what to expect. Maybe no glitz/glamour, but super service. Or maybe I just like them because they are British. 😅 Is there any chance of new content on the CPT-LHR route with BA? Specifically Economy/Plus/Business...aircraft was very dated and am wondering if they have upgraded yet?
Yeah agreed! I’ve just reviewed their premium economy on the channel which was on the older 787 cabin so very comparable to the A380 which does the CPT route, hopefully that’s useful! 😃
A220 looks nice! My original AF A220 aircraft booking is now downgraded to E190 (served by HOP,) and they don’t even block your next seat in J class…😢 Hopefully their catering won’t be downgraded…
Hmm!!...Do BA contract out their aircraft cleaning or do the cabin crew on those short hop quick turnaround Euro flights get out the hoover and pledge??..ha-ha! (other products are available) I wish you would leave the sound on for the engines till take off at least....it cut out, we got a bit of silence then music......bit of an anticlimax...I felt robbed of the sensation of power, thrust and lift!!!
Yeah, seems just a super quick hoover, if at all. Would suggest more of a deep-clean required at the end of each day might be a better option also! Ahhh yes so, TH-cam does tell me most people skip past the takeoff so I tend to do more of a hybrid approach. May start a second channel with the full footage of leave it in, one to ponder perhaps. Confident with the new camera however that it'll capture the engine sounds much better so that should be good!
Most suitable non stop gatwick to Europe by ba than Heathrow, not worth flying from Heathrow to Europe unless anyone flying from outside Europe to Europe via London airport.
Thank for sharing. Always quality cinematography and informative commentary. Looking forward to seeing your next vlog. 👍
You’re very welcome! Thanks so much, means a lot. See you over there 😃

It was fab.
Ahhh that’s really annoying! I guess only a short flight but still, that’s frustrating. Hope you get to do the A220 soon!

Hmm does depend where you’re based…
