Kobe brought the culture back 2 USA along with the other great players. His work ethic set the tone for the 2 gold medal winning teams in 08 and 12 from the scrimmages, practices, alot of the players had their best seasons next year in 09 like LeBron, Wade, Melo, Bosh and Dwight for example playing with Kobe on Team USA. That is the impact he left along with the veteran leadership of Jason Kidd and no one can tell me otherwise

Kobe brought a lot of toughness, focus, maturity, intensity, and aggressiveness to the team. And he was also clutch as hell, in the Gold Medal game.🥇

he might have been not the only one but he was the one guy, the key factor, that clutched the olympic finals. Spain was putting up a heck of a fight, then Kobe stepped up and literally closed the game on his own. Let's remember that spanish team was far from a joke - standing world champions, european champions, several NBA players on their prime (Including Pau Gasol), and a side that was literally sweeping aside any opposition. I doubt the US has ever faced a tougher side in any international game, ever.
So, given how the US had been beaten by Greece 2 years prior, and the players involved in both teams, it's easy to see who was making the difference there. With Kobe in the court there's NO WAY Greece would've come back to win against the US in Japan'06. And with Kobe in the court there was no way Spain was doing the same in Beijing'08 even while Spain was a FAR better team than the Greeks were in '06.
Facts are facts, Kobe won that gold medal for team USA. Obviously that it wasn't single-handedly, but he was the one that made the difference when his team needed it the most, and when it mattered the most. Classic Kobe Bryant.
(BTW I'm spanish, so I kinda know what I'm talking about, seen that finals game maybe 100 times by now XD)

I remember that year, because pretty everyone that played came back and player harder the following season. Wade, LeBron and Melo came back to tell everyone they felt like bums once they realized how hard and thorough Kobe's work ethic was. Kobe played very little offense that whole period too. It wasn't until the finals against Spain that he really started scoring. For most games, he was locking down the best perimeter players on the opposing team.
That's why I laugh when people say people didn't want to come play with Kobe at the end of his career. They just don't get it.

That man gets killed because of his rape case by the media. But to me Kobe hands down is tied or 2nd greatest player of all time. His rape charges destroyed his legacy. Just like they did with Allen iverson. The NBA and media destroy anybody if you don't follow the image rule. It pays there bills this is why LeBron gets all the praise he has a squeaky clean image so of course the media and the NBA are going to use him just like Jordan, even though Jordan had a gambling problem. If anything LeBron is the most over hyped NBA athlete of all time. I always told people that 60% of his NBA career was made by the media and 40% was his game. Also there "new rules" Were implemented for LeBron so he can break that offensive record and surpass all the Lakers with offensive stats numbers.

Of course narratives happen, but accountability means you have to live out the SUM of the choices you've made, and things you've gotten into. After that you're just fighting to keep dignity, and re-cement a legacy. You don't blame LeBron for the girl in Colorado existing, or AI having poor personal habits, and thinking showing up on game day is okay. After you get a certain age you won't be worth the baggage of the SUM of your choices. Because they actually are legit HOF'ers even AI is back in the NBA culture's good graces. ALSO, true the current(literally today) league is pushing for more numbers via the style & rules, but LeBron was putting up big numbers in 04, so unless basketball junkies favorite players numbers don't count like T-Mac, Kobe, Shaq, AI, etc..then you're still blind hating by calling out only LBJ. You fake serious fans are just as WEIRD as the watered down casuals, sometimes 😓.
