      hahaha Twisted? Nahh it's you. Just because his father was a king doesn't mean he had more natural talent than Goku. Goku became a saiyan first than Vegeta. Since then, he was trying to catch up to him and has been trying to do things he can do. MJ's more talented like Goku is stronger. Kobe is more skillful overall, but can't surpass MJ. Vegeta thinks more and has more knowledge of saiyans, but despite all that he can't surpass Goku. Speaking of father, Kobe's dad played professional. He had the advantage ofhhaving more knowledge about basketball than MJ.

Yet Kobe still developed that killer mentality, that insane work ethic, and that never ending thirst for knowledge, all because of his love for the game. Kobe achieved his status not by being gifted, but through extreme hard work and dedication on his own will.

      @DubboU 5 ปีที่แล้ว +48

      @@erik666111 are Rodman, Horace Grant, Steve Kerr, Ron Harper, BJ Armstrong, Toni Kukoc, Paxson, Luc Longley all just bums to you? They are all players that held their own. You know who are bums? Adam Morrison, DJ Mbenga, Devin Ebanks, JR Rider, Smush Parker, Kwame Brown.
      Sidekick? ALL 3 of their championship runs are played in the era of low post ball. Shaq had almost no one who can match up to him. It was simply the best idea to give Shaq the ball first, and dish it out if need be. Kobe had to play 2nd option and did a hell of a job. By their 3rd run, Kobe's and Shaq's playoff stats are identical. When Shaq was in foul trouble, Kobe single handily carried the team to victory. When Shaq was injured, Kobe went off and had streaks of 35 games with 30+ and 9 games with 40+. Phil Jackson had to tell Kobe to stop when Shaq came back so his ego doesn't get hurt. Sidekick? Right. Must be why the owner Jerry Buss picked Kobe and not Shaq. Because Kobe's just a sidekick. After Shaq left and Kobe had to do things himself for long while. He literally set the league on fire, averaging 40+ for weeks, with streaks of 50+ in between. EVERYONE knew the ball is going to Kobe, yet NOBODY could stop him or do anything about it. The Lakers didn't do well because the team as a whole wasn't good. Most teams during that time have duos, Lakers just had Kobe.
      Kobe the ball hog is only the ALL TIME ASSIST LEADER for a 2 guard. No big deal. Only 181 more than the next guy Clyde Drexler, and only just 673 more than the goat MJ. What a ball hog Kobe must have been.
      MJ is still the goat to me, he has the entire package. Kobe lacks the leadership MJ has, but I would argue Kobe was a more skilled player. They are 1A and 1B, and I love them both.

      0351 USMC That’s actually a weak argument and shows you either didn’t watch basketball during Jordan’s era or you are just parroting what the mainstream media says.
      You can actually argue for both players, meaning, Jordan’s competition was stronger and grittier. Kobe’s competition was much more skilled.
      Personally I think the 80s/90s was the second toughest era after 70s/80s, the 00s and beyond can’t compare to those eras grit-wise and in essence not as tough. So the argument can be made that Jordan actually had it tougher than Kobe as a scorer, not as tough as a defender. Kobe had it tougher as a defender than Jordan, but not as a tough as a scorer.
      You also have to factor in rules and rule changes that Kobe benefited from and that Jordan wasn’t able to.

    I love content like these...
    To me being a GOAT is subjective to whomsoever that said it.
    That said, I really admire Kobe for his grit, his passion, and his love for the game...
    You can gouge his eyes, & break his legs, but you can't take him off the fvckin' court!!
    That's what I love from Kobe...
    Thanks Kobe for inspiring me

    Great points and I've never heard an argument for Kobe expressed in this way. True, he did a lot more with a lot less, and put himself in the conversation as one of the GOATS. But both had an insane work ethic, and yes, Jordan's God-given athleticism allowed him to do and be things that Kobe could never catch or achieve even with the mamba mentality. MJ is literally a once-in-a-thousand years virtuoso while Kobe was a generational talent. Kobe shows that through sheer will power, you can be more than the sum of your parts, at the highest level of competition. However, MJ natural gifts made him essentially superhuman.

    this video made me tear up. I always thought this same thing and it made me emotional someone else sees it too. Maybe it's because I had a disability and still competed in sports against people without that. But I don't know how other people don't understand this. Kobe really is the Batman of all the greats. He literally had nothing athletically that made him exceptional. He was average at it all but he used it all like a scientist. Whereas Jordan is Superman. Jordan is great and all but he is so gifted it always almost felt like cheating. I just hated rooting for a guy like that. But you knew Kobe was just a really smart guy in a suit, willing to die to win and that to me is greater than some invincible god who damn near could fly.
    To me Kobe is like if Batman somehow came after Superman and put on the Super man costume and somehow was able to figure out how to be Superman ANYWAY without the actual super powers. I think that's why so many of us love Kobe so much in such a personal way because he's OUR Jordan.

    Gilbert Lost Me, Then He Kind Of Had Me......And Then He Completely Lost Me Again. I Think Gilbert Is Completely Understating Kobe's Physical Gift:
    1. He Was Supremely Athletic, His Athleticism Just Showed A Little Different. He Wasn’t As Athletic Or Strong As Michael, But He Wasn’t That Far Behind Either To The Point That You Call Mike The Warriors and Kobe The Knicks…That’s Just Crazy
    2. When You Add Kobe’s Skills With His Athletic Ability Then One Could Argue That He Very Much Should Have Been Battling Mike For Top Dawg, Mike Would Probably Win 70% Of The Time But That Doesn’t Take Away From Who Kobe Is When Talking All Time Status
    3. If You Were To Take Prime Kobe And Put Him Against The Wings And Perimeter Players That Played In The 80s and 90s, He’d Look Even More Athletic Than He Did In His Own Era
    4. Gilbert Talking About Kobe Like He Had Paul Pierce Type Athletic Ability…Slow Down Gilbert
    I Could Go On, But I'll Stop There

    • @Nephromancer3
      @Nephromancer3 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I disagree. He's not understating Kobe's Physical Gifts. Compared to guards of his position in the 80s, Kobe was def not as gifted- Clyde Drexler, Mitch Richmond, World B. Free, Grant Hill, Penny Hardaway, Eddie jones. He's saying Kobe could use his athleticism better than they could. Have you seen the dunk contest he won in 97/98 when he put it between his legs? the ball was like 5 inches above the rim when he dunked it. He knew how to use his athleticism and had longer arms that most so he could reach the rim quicker. Humans don't just evolve within decades and are "more athletic" that narrative needs to stop. Like, apparently wilt chamberlain was the most athletic person to ever exist and he was not from this era, obviously
