Until you personally experience multiple 💥💥 explosions with over 60psi in your tires going only 60mph, and being far from overloaded, the safety aspect of cheap Chinese tires doesn’t sink in😬
Hey Josh, great video buddy. I really do like the fifth wheel set ups although I don’t have a fifth wheel truck lol. And this one seems to be basic but definitely family, friendly, especially with the bunks. But being that it would usually only be my wife and I You could definitely take out those bunks and make that in office. And to be honest with you, I enjoy the basic basics of this RV. I don’t need all the bells and whistles to have a great time camping. But what they have in this cougar would fit me just perfectly. The one thing that I would love to see them put in automatically would be a complete solar system! All the hook ups all ready to go right off the lot. I just think it makes more sense to have the travel trailer absolutely totally ready to go to where you could literally drive it off the lot and into the camping area and be in a relaxing world. Keep Rockin Josh.
After seeing Brinkley’s theater seating, sofa and breakfast bar, this decades old floorplan with a humongous diner booth dinette and a neck wrecker TV viewing position for cold rainy days definitely looks it age😢
I think my kids would fight over the cave bed. It's so great for families with 3 smaller kids, I wish more would do this, or at least have it as an option.
The TV position isn't ideal, but it wouldn't bother me, even if it bothered the rest of the family. I think they could put a shelf (maybe with netting)above the window in the dinette. I like the position of the appliances in the kitchen. I'm not sure the living accommodation is enough for the amount of people who could sleep in this. I like that each bunk has a cupboard for essentials they don't want to share with their siblings. The door privacy shade sounds like a bit of a faff. I like the bathroom, but the fan needs updating, particularly with the high traffic you're likely to have in this camper! Shotgun the front bedroom, I'd want my hidey-hole to get some peace, and read my book! Pretty good storage in the bedroom, I just feel a fair amount of it would be shared with all the other campers. Floor vents are at least of the newer variety. I'm still not a fan though. This is the kind of camper where you and your friends/kids just need somewhere to sleep, and you have plans for being outside of it in the daytime hours!
_"This is the kind of camper where you and your friends/kids just need somewhere to sleep, and you have plans for being outside of it in the daytime hours"_ *THIS EXACTLY!* That's all this one is really trying to be
Good call on road mode with the kiddos. If Cougar puts money into a revision of this in the future, a super slide or second slide for the bunkroom so there can be an emergency exit on the hookup side would be a welcomed addition. Is there even a way to open the slam latch on the bottom bunk from the inside on when its closed?
@@JoshtheRVNerd yeah, the only issue is the weights go up and given triple bunks, the payload is getting eaten up quickly. I should have just bought a duelly 😂
Good review...as usual. Always enjoy your content and evaluation of models. I would change the tires almost immediately, have had a couple of bad experiences with cheap tires....Saluns or Coopers are my go to brands. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Nerd! Great of you to add the water connection info with all the storage, road mode, and slide info inside and out. For the families this is designed for, I think this is a great model!! Does Bish's need to consider hiring a stunt double? Your poor forehead 🫂
With the kids always having a tablet, the TV space isn't nearly as important as it used to be. I used to not like RVs with bad entertainment centers, but now it'd rather bigger shelves than a bigger TV
I do not like the refrigerator being pushed back I would rather they put storage outside behind it. @JoshtheRVNerd - I was wondering why they don't put the power management system in the front storage where the battery and other electrical are?
@@JoshtheRVNerd To me putting it in the pass-thru or the front facing gen/battery location would make the most sense since it's always accessible and would make it easy to tie in solar system.
#rvnerdherd love this except double-header sewer monster…not a fan! If I was looking for a fifth wheel I’d definitely consider it though! Basement space is great for an in-law suite!!! But yes my Big Blue half ton would not be able to pull this…my payload IS the hitch weight on this LoL such a funny video Josh…hope the noggin is ok!!! ❤
The two sewer hookups thing isn't something that would break the deal for me personally but I know that's different for everyone. It's definitely not my preference but I could overlook it if the layout works well enough for me
Yeah that's what these have. This is a more basic budget series. I'm well aware you could fill that quickly with all the people you could potentially sleep in here
Just a weird thing that happens with this layout/length combo. Doesn't bother me but I'm pretty hard to bother anymore lol Plenty of other layouts thankfully if that jelly isnt your jam!

Yeah that would be a pretty great option for a lot of people.

Considering it's less than half the budget I think it's like comparing a saturn to a cadillac
@JoshtheRVNerd Lol!!! A 3 seat theater seating "option" for less than $1,000 would bring it into the 21st century💥💥💥
The mattress on the floor does not qualify as a triple bunk. It does however establish hierarchy.

this is really intended to be basic and less costly by design so I dont foresee them adding major stuff to it. Perhaps in another model?

Show me 5-th weeler that can sleep comfortably my two teenagers 18 and 20 years old and the parents that is less than 35 feet long please?
Josh, you need to find the 2025 Keystone Cougar 26RKE and give us a tour. (New model for this year)
I am chatting with them to get footage of an updated copy
@@JoshtheRVNerd Thanks Josh, your videos are the best on the Web.
Would be a contender If there was a choice for something besides booth dinette...😊
What would you prefer?

We are blessed with a great tire shop next to our store where we can make that happen easily for folks
Thank you RV nerd. I just wish the cargo max was same as Brinkley and Alliance fifth wheel rv
I get it. These are very different rigs though. This is for a more casual weekend use vs those other models

Yeah I was surprised how it cleaned up nicely and didn’t leave a mark the next day
Hey Josh, does Keystone have any plans to get rid of floor vents in the future for their Cougar 5th wheels?
Haven’t heard but it isn’t impossible

True
Good video Josh
Glad you enjoyed it

Flaunt the dad bod. Be proud!!😂
I’m a _participation_ trophy husband lol
It doesn't seem have ABS or Anti-sway. Is Cougar only putting that on the half-ton and higher trims in 2025?
...i had it in my head abs was on ALL cougar models.. now i need to hop out to look at this sometime
@ That's what I thought, too, but I didn't see red rotors on this unit. Maybe it is a holdover before the change?
Thxs

Power management in the pass-thru is totally possible but weirdly most brands just.. don't

Ild yank out the dinette- put in a couch
👍🏻

Only 30 gallon black tank ?

You got it!
For me the deal breaker would be the location of the refrigerator, stuck in behind the dinette. It just looks out of place.

@@JoshtheRVNerd absolutely! As I have learned, there isn't a right or wrong RV. It's just a matter of which one fits the customer's needs.

you know.. you may be onto something there
Thanks, Nerd 🍺 🤓. How many viewers remember Saturn??😂😂
