Hey Wanderbots, thanks so much for checking out our little demo! Sorry for the audio issues you stumbled into. It's still a bit work in progress so we'll be able to iron some stuff out quite a bit more! About giving players more choices: I think we are specifically not going the rogue-like route as we kind of like having "builds" that are reproducable so you can learn from each attempt and try out different strategies with somewhat reproducable outcomes. That being said, I like your idea of introducing even more choices to even more builings. I'll do some experiments on that and see if the other playtesters like that as well. Keep up the great content, cheers! :)
The game looks absolutely amazing, immediately added to wish list! Can't wait to dig in! Can we get info if there are going to be any steam achievements for the achievement hunters out there :) ?
The little squares of where you can build ar all the same, is it planned that they will look slightly different depending on the type of building on a future version? or is learning the building on each spot part of the strategy learning? game looks interesting but my fish brain could use some visual help
Just as the description states. I think that's the Lets Play tax at work. Crazy how many things you just don't notice any more when you stream or record.
@@l0rf*when you actively play and dont passively watch a game Its called the backseat effect and doesn't apply to games only, but every activity where one is engaged in something and someone watches. There are several scientific explanations for it, the most watered down is that your limited attention is occupied by the task itself while the observer can concentrate on pattern recognition and can follow up on more stimuli. So alas, dont hate the streamer, hate the brains ✌🏼
I already played nearly 2 hours and it's fun. Can't wait for the full game. I like the Devs are going quality over quantity. That's why there will be only 3 levels upon first early acces release. And also there will be new types of buildings, enemies and more in new levels. I don't wanna spoil one of the goodies in the later levels. And I know this cuz I watch the Devs devlogs. They've been working for like a year. It's just 2 people. One of the Devs is also the guy who made will you snail. I wonder when they'll do full early acces launch cuz in the devlog that dropped a few hours ago they were already balancing the third level (I'm ignoring the tutorial in my level count)
I feel that Builder's Guild is far better for going econ, the simple reason being that being able to passively upgrade your starting houses to their second level every day for free allows you to invest in more housing and more defenses without having to spend your money to upgrade them.
This game looks REALLY good, almost a certain buy for me once it releases. As far as the outer outer walls go, I think it's more realistic for there to only be walls around the houses and town center, rather than everything
I think outer walls would have been fine, and realistic if placed strategically like at the small gap between the rivers. That, however, might have made defending that point too easy. The big thing about outer walls is that they would be significantly larger and thus significantly more expensive. So they could go with either the route of allowing outer walls at a dramatically greater price point or made them piece meal like with the forward wall expansion that goes around the barracks in the middle grounds.
@@ShadowBMe If you look at how ancient castles and the cities near them were "walled", you'd almost always only see a wall around the castle itself and some houses, while the farms were way outside the walls and left unprotected by them. The thing about those times was that you had workforce to no end, but materials were very rare, and if you look at how many stone you'd have to put into a wall, it was only really possible to wall something in if the city and/or castle's owner was very rich. But otherwise, I agree with your comment, I don't even really know why I wrote this long comment, probably because I'm a huge sucker for realism. History lesson over ;D
Thanks for covering this game, this game definitely looks to be up my alley. I agree with your assessment that some roguelike elements might do this game good for replayability, which i can see might be a downfall for this game other vice.
Bit on an oopsie-daisy on the second level: They gave you the quest for not using the longbow when you very clearly were. Other than that, this looks very interesting! Let's see where it ends up going.
@@Skenjin If you're talking about units, he used both. He got the crossbowmen first, then the longbowmen at 29:00 . I assumed the quest was referring to the weapon his king was using, but if we go with your version, then he still shouldn't have gotten it.
@@bentischer7224 I tried the game and could see that it should have been referring to the weapon the king uses, and he definitely shouldn't have gotten it. But I also got it despite my king using it so they definitely need to fix something. Just sad that the demo only really has the one playable level.
I think music at 40% is way to loud xD I think games should default sounds to 50% master and 10% music. I nearly always blast my eardrums out when starting new games with default settings before I can change it.

I do like the predictable nature of the upgrades so you can plan around them better.
planning on adding any voices? It would be awesome to hear "For the Lady!" or "Yes Meh'Lord?"

Added to wish list super excited for the game
wander, in case you didn't realize, the Arcane Towers perk just makes your towers deal more dmg... it's not an actual building

I would love to see this become a series
This game is perfect for the kind of snappy, quick rts type of game with lots of building that I enjoy!

this feels like a cross between a tower defense game and Kingdom, heh. 100% up your alley it seems.
This game is extremely promising can't wait to see where it goes from here!!
Absolutely wanna see Wander play more of this
After watching 7 minutes I just tried it, fun game!
This game feels like Kindom Two Crowns 3D
Thx for the video! This looks great!
In love eith that overworld music...
This looks like a very interesting take on the Kingdom formula
wander: why there are just 5 of them
le enemies troops: haha, fooled you, that were just recon group for the bigger siege! BRING EM THE ONAGER!

More of this one please!
I think I might like this more than kingdoms because of the perspective. But they're going to have to fix the option sliders.
Man, that battle music is sick.
This game reeks of Kingdom in several ways.
You don't have to wait for your guys to arrive to release the follow command. They'll go to wherever you're standing when you release the command.
Awesome
pretty sure the reason the ballistas were shooting across the whole map is the arcane tower's perk.
Is it "The Kingdom" in 3D, isn't it? Even the tower cost the same!
This game really does look like it would be a blast if they could somehow add coop. That would be a tall order though.
Like the graphics, standard 255 color
I love your every new game
I might try this game
Edit: free demo

its a nice game
Will this be coming to consoles?
Looks like diplomacy is not an option
Change the audio by the arrow keys.
why do they always pick royal training?
I think music at 40% is way to loud xD

Please be in the Switch 😬
Refunded, can't build where you want designated spots for everything including towers.
