Just picked up new iPad Mini and Pencil Pro so I’m sat. As a general rule, I don’t have any social media on my iPad. I have language learning apps (memrise is pretty great),Moleskine Timepage for calendar, Pastel Kana for Kana drills, and Apple Notes for, well, notes mostly because it has the handwriting correction feature and doesn’t have, like, a subscription model.
For games I just use NYT Games since they’re mostly brain teasers and the Professor Layton series. I’m trying to make it an educational, productive, but not boring device.
Edit: if you use the pencil a lot, you can program the squeeze feature to act as a home button so you don’t have to interrupt your workflow to swipe up with your other hand.

great tip for the kindle app i wasn’t aware of. you can also reduce brightness system-wide by enabling the “reduce white point” accessibility feature, and make the screen warmer than the default night shift by using it in combination with the color (tint) filter

There’s actually a setting in the iPad. I believe it’s under display or one of the accessibility settings that allows you to dim the screen all the way 100% down. But you have to turn that setting on in the settings.

You can apply a red color filter at night, so dim the iPad screen more

@ I'm sorry I thought that was what I did, it feels like there's a shadow cast on your face. Not exactly sure what's going on.
