I exept lower mmr(/slower mmr gain) for a more versatile playing... i rather focus on lerning how to Play the map and lern more about matchups than bore myself by playing the same shit over and over again... and even playing 5heros are to little for me... thats not what i Play dota for (but i also learned to avoid to pick heros i just cant win With no Matter how broken they are in the meta - bloodseeker for example)
We all are, but even if you have high versatility you may be good in 5 heroes you know. I have like 9 versatility but have 500 games with ck and 300 with nyx out of 6000 games

Offlane weaver with Aghs is dope though. With decent Aghs timing, you can give space by saving your core's ass and turning the clash around. As long as you don't go for greedy, DPS build weaver, you're fine. I got commended with this strat actually
@@lordjaraxxus5418 aghs is definitely a luxury item, my build was along the lines of wraith>medallion>threads>maelstrom>halberd>solar crest>lotus orb. Basically, if your core is dumb enough to be out of position when he's not an initiator - your aghs isn't going to help him or your team in particular as you can't play with his hero in his stead.
Here the offlane weaver squad comes. All the items you suggest suck on a offlane hero. If you build tanky items you literally are a slightly tanky hero (not insane, because you still are a dumb weaver) but then you still lack initate and disable (unless you call running in and hitting somone for 2 hits and doing no dmg is called initate). If you rush aghs you might as well play Weaver 4 if all you do is press r on a core. And if you go the Desolator Linkens build you are basically a second carry, in which case your team misses 1 whole offlaner.

If he sends reinforcements everywhere, he will everywhere be weak." There is no shortage of weaknesses in a player, but when it comes to playing dota, knowing every hero means you don't understand a single hero to a point of being an expert on it. The idea of "Jack of all trades, master of none" is a big one.
Knowing as much heroes as possible is crucial, but you don't have to master them. Knowing a hero means that you also know how to counter it and what to expect from them in different stages in a game.
Your advice to "do your job first, then carry second" is very good. Nevertheless, I don't like the premise that "your teammates suck". In solo queue, your teammates are in the same MMR bracket as you, so chances are they don't suck any more than you do. You can win with io, bane or lich, if you are able to communicate.
Bane player: Don't wake him up! Necrophos hits sleeping enemy. Bane player: Next time, don't attack the enemy, you will fall asleep, and they will wake up. That is bad for us. Next fight: Bane puts enemy carry to sleep before dying, Necrophos hits sleeping target, necro sleeps during entire fight. Necrophos: SUKA BANE WHY I SLEEPING!?!?? Communication is good, and requires a listener. Some teammates are not.
Im just going to say i have data that sort of disproves this. Based on game experience, if your team has the advantage your winrate is approx 85%. Within each bracket there is a massive skill difference

In 2 of the games they were friends, in 1 game they weren't. Long story short - I have 3 losses, as I am pos 5, I can't do much after laning phase, if the other team become dominant after min 15. My offlaners were: Game 1 - Lifestealer 3, WW 4, friends-> LS taking the space of 1 and 2, instead of creating... Game 2 - Treant 3, Phoenix 4, friends -> Offlane let AM farm, then Treant decided to never joing fights and split the whole game, even tho we are losing and the only idea that comes to my mind that he picked Treant is to probably combo it with his friend, but he joined only once (we won that battle - 3 for 1, but Phoenix died as they had dispell). Game 3 - Viper 3, Veno 4, not friends-> Offlane dominated(for the first time in my playtime that day), but for the first 10 minutes. Then Veno and even the Viper were freekills, as enemy team were communicating and these dudes were always out of position. On min 15, Viper, from Position 2 on the networth list, he become 5th and guess what, the dominated enemy Slark was 2nd, after my friends Mid Arc Warden. These dudes were so ahead and they fed atleast 2 times each for 4 minutes and that was the game. Some people just don't have sense or thought for winning condition. Even though I try always to be calm, I'm always at 10k behavior score, I got mad in the 3rd game and asked what was their thought on the winning condition of the game with picking these heroes, I got the answer, that they crushed the safelane, so it's somehow our 3 fault, that we are losing. My last sentence was, if you picked normal offlaner, the game was almost 100% ours, as my friend is a very strong Arc at this MMR and he had a good game untill min 15 (he was top networth the whole game). BTW this is on Divine 1 - 5 Bracket, if you look at statistics, these players are on top 5% of the Dota player community, but we are still suck big plebs, we do not want to think. So thank you Jenkins, that you teach us Plebs and I really hope these guys in my games see atleast 1 damn video, so they can conclude, that thinking about picks and winning condition is important, not just "I stomped my lane nab, so it's ur fault", or "Doesn't matter that I picked Lifestealer offlane as at the end of the game I have 2k more networth than my carry, so I'm good" (but he took the only space available for our 1 and 2 in our jungle, at the same time as we were losing towers and they were killing us, as they had a normal lineup and we were without an offlaner)

Im just glad to myself, I play all roles and know what hero should be use depending on the line up. I have 2 heroes for each roles that I can use and spam.
So many tips but in the end here's how it is: you're standing in the middle of a field blindfolded. There are people next to you. They go 1 mile and yell they go there. Or yell they are still going. You don't know if there is 1 destination, 2, 3, maybe you're surrounded by destinations, but each is at its own distance from you. You're all blindfolded so tips like "turn this many degrees left" won't work, since you don't know your initial position. You know nothing, you can only pick a strat. Some people pick one direction and keep going as fast as they can. Others try to pace right, make pauses. Some turn. Some go back after trying. Some simply run around like idiots without a system. Inevitably some of the people WILL get where they want. They tell the others how they did it but as we already established we cannot use the same advice to get to the same position. We don't know our step, we don't know at what radial angle we start. We don't know if the destination disappears in time or when someone reaches it first. We know nothing. And they know nothing. But they picked a way and followed it and made it. Many people did the same and failed. Farm, not farm, pause, don't pause, always move, always hide, lure to LH, eat tango faster... It works for THEM. Because they know how to use what they have. We can't do the same. We're still at the initial position. Blindfolded, starting anew, any directions may become the right one in 10 years. And in 10 years there will be videos about the pros who got to the top after starting today by ignoring these tips. Or not. That's what "blindfolded" means, you cannot possibly know. What do you know? "Do I like to play Dota?" If you do, play it. If you see an opportunity, use it. As simple as that. But there's no way to coach a champion from 0 by following the old path. It's already done by the others. The road has already changed. Or not.

Why is Radiance WK better than Echosabre? I mean witch ES you can sustain pretty well Lifesteal Double crit gives you much Hp back and Mana also stats. His skeletons are pretty good for farming Neutrals and Waves. I am not a pro and dont understand the game on the lvl you do Jenkins.But for me ES seems better. Pls share your knowledge with me.

If you are stuck in low MMR. CK is your best hero to pick. I have won most of my games with CK and a viper support. You crush safelane early and fast using nether toxin and stuns
The 5 hero rule is something I do use for a long time for myself. To be completly true, I say 3 I would pick in every game, regardless of any other pick of bans. 2-5 more, I pick in specific situations. But what about meta changes? I know, as long as you play good dota and you hero good, you can carry the game, even if the hero falls out of the meta. But in the recent weeks, one of my most played heros alltime (since DotA 1), spectre, do falled of so much, that I could FEEL ingame, that to pick this hero will not carry my MMR. I do pick her regardless of that even, as I said, I would pick this hero in every game, every day. For me, this is one of the biggest questions I could not find a good answer. When do I drop one hero and implement a new hero for my 3 - 5 best picks? The reasons I mentioned here brought me to picking lycan, micro hero, good in the meta, a fully new hero for me to learn. But before I can play Lycan in a ranked enviroment I need many hours of practice in unranked games. For now, I swapped spectre to niche pick with another hero I played a long time too.
if the versatility is higher it means the person always counterpick enemys if the versatility is low it means the player spamming heroes without counterpicking the enemy heroes.

Maybe a radiance offlane wk is bad, but what about necrobook, skeleton talents, blink, armlet wk? Something like that, maybe add a vlads for your team and even more sustain.
So many Sea under 3k never use rules number 2 and 3 Not everyone, but still many of it. 6 of 10 my match, always meet that kind of player, Always trying to kill even they cant kill and ended being killed, and will blame when lose.
Offlane wraith king is pretty good if you build Helm Dom, (soulring), blink, BKB, vlads. You can use your dom creep to guide the skeletons to enemy jungel camps. And you can push and initiate.
When you say "do your job, then carry" and go into saying how you actually do agree that your teammates wont play with you, it actually makes me second think if I even want to climb mmr. Honestly the reason why I want to get higher mmr is to play with "better" players that are going to cooperate and not play single player. You're saying that this is never true, so then maybe I don't actually want to climb mmr. Its really sad how toxic dota is that at any level of mmr people feel as though they can't be successful as playing lich and bane. Those are the heroes I like to play because we can pull off cool plays working together.

as a support player I agree with you bro. this video is sharing tips on gainign MMR and it is easier to do that playing carries. it just mean a high rank support player is so good at his game than a carry player at the same rank
I get the whole getting good at 5 or so heroes, but that only tends to work at extremely high MMR brackets where you work in teams - as many of the players at that end are willing to work and tailor around others’ gameplay, whilst traits can be easily exploited through communication. The point being, there are very specific heroes who are fantastic for Smurfing and boosting, for the simple reason being that they’re weak in pro-games but OP in pubs. Shadow Fiend Meepo Templar Assassin Monkey King Alchemist Arc Warden Invoker Tusk Wraith King Lycan (before Necro removal) Despite having easy hero counters, they can stomp due to the mechanics of the hero often requiring a level of teamwork which isn’t present at or below 5.5k mmr - I know this because of my own experience both above and below. Let’s say you’re a pos 4 player above 5.5k, and the enemy first picks BB - what’s your go to? Previously Nyx, but now Viper. Would your team be happy with you picking viper? Would they not get tilted? Would they tailor? As said, above 5.5k, yes to all of them; below, no to all of them. So unless you’ve been playing the game since, practically, the mod - then chances are the strat of “consolidating a few heroes for matchups” is pretty awful, since it’s incredibly team dependent, and practically asking your team to carry you in the places where your hero pick falls short due to the matchup such as the example of picking ember despite a perfect void game. I’d actually get pretty mad if someone did that at my rank. Granted, maining heroes is different - I main Visage, QoP, Necro and VS, but there my go-tos if I’m picking first or going for a nuke counter. That doesn’t mean I exclusively play those heroes, they just happen to be my most played over the past year at least. So, this is a great video for very high mmr players - not sure much everyone else, I.e. the majority of DotA players.
I agree with the versatility thingy. My friends always tease me for having low versatility. I'm a legacy key user that's why I need muscle memory on heroes like I need to play more than 10 games to master the keys and practice in different situations.
With picking 4-5 heroes to main is it better to pick 1 Hero to play for every position or is it better to pick one role to play and 4-5 heroes in that role
Speanking of calling your team idiots: Yesterday I did call my team idiots for the first time in literally years. I don't do that because if we are in the same room , we have the same skill... more or less. Anyway, I took the time and risk and gold to to block all enemy creep spawns, and took whatever farm I could on the enemy side of the map. I let the my team know to stay on our side and just farm because enemy have no or very very little farm left, and I am taking care of that. what those 4 brain dead players do? go in pair of 2 in their enemy side, where where there was their entire enemy taking turns to farm 1-2 camps, and got killed over and over. They literally substituted the farm I worked to deny to enemy.
Tip : if you have high versatility and you want to follow this guide, pick a hero with versatility instead. A hero that can be a core or support then spam it. Sometimes your personality ( agressive, safe, analytic , subtle) perfectly fits a hero that should be played with. When you come across certain heroes that you are comfortable with, that is the hero to spam.
Isn't Wraithking like REALLY freaking good at running in to start the teamfight? There's definitelt something to be said about first picking a WK to jebait enemy team into picking Antimage to counter it, only to play it as a pos5 or an offlaner with arcanes, dagger and mek. Worked many a wonder for my games. But then again, im like 8 versatility, so what do I know, lol.
i have 8+ versality since i get bored after every match of hero. thats why i consider spamming morph now and go aghs since i can spam and play every hero at the same times.
Can the versatility thing apply to supports ? I mean im down to use only 5 supports the whole season but theres something about that that wont work for me as a support main, especially if i move from 4 and 5 time to time

So many tips but in the end here's how it is: you're standing in the middle of a field blindfolded. There are people next to you. They go 1 mile and yell they go there. Or yell they are still going. You don't know if there is 1 destination, 2, 3, maybe you're surrounded by destinations, but each is at its own distance from you. You're all blindfolded so tips like "turn this many degrees left" won't work, since you don't know your initial position. You know nothing, you can only pick a strat.
Some people pick one direction and keep going as fast as they can. Others try to pace right, make pauses. Some turn. Some go back after trying. Some simply run around like idiots without a system.
Inevitably some of the people WILL get where they want. They tell the others how they did it but as we already established we cannot use the same advice to get to the same position. We don't know our step, we don't know at what radial angle we start. We don't know if the destination disappears in time or when someone reaches it first. We know nothing. And they know nothing. But they picked a way and followed it and made it. Many people did the same and failed.
Farm, not farm, pause, don't pause, always move, always hide, lure to LH, eat tango faster... It works for THEM. Because they know how to use what they have. We can't do the same. We're still at the initial position. Blindfolded, starting anew, any directions may become the right one in 10 years. And in 10 years there will be videos about the pros who got to the top after starting today by ignoring these tips. Or not. That's what "blindfolded" means, you cannot possibly know. What do you know? "Do I like to play Dota?" If you do, play it. If you see an opportunity, use it. As simple as that. But there's no way to coach a champion from 0 by following the old path. It's already done by the others. The road has already changed.

Why is Radiance WK better than Echosabre? I mean witch ES you can sustain pretty well Lifesteal Double crit gives you much Hp back and Mana also stats. His skeletons are pretty good for farming Neutrals and Waves. I am not a pro and dont understand the game on the lvl you do Jenkins.But for me ES seems better. Pls share your knowledge with me.

If you are stuck in low MMR. CK is your best hero to pick. I have won most of my games with CK and a viper support. You crush safelane early and fast using nether toxin and stuns
The 5 hero rule is something I do use for a long time for myself. To be completly true, I say 3 I would pick in every game, regardless of any other pick of bans. 2-5 more, I pick in specific situations. But what about meta changes? I know, as long as you play good dota and you hero good, you can carry the game, even if the hero falls out of the meta. But in the recent weeks, one of my most played heros alltime (since DotA 1), spectre, do falled of so much, that I could FEEL ingame, that to pick this hero will not carry my MMR. I do pick her regardless of that even, as I said, I would pick this hero in every game, every day. For me, this is one of the biggest questions I could not find a good answer. When do I drop one hero and implement a new hero for my 3 - 5 best picks?
The reasons I mentioned here brought me to picking lycan, micro hero, good in the meta, a fully new hero for me to learn. But before I can play Lycan in a ranked enviroment I need many hours of practice in unranked games. For now, I swapped spectre to niche pick with another hero I played a long time too.

if the versatility is higher it means the person always counterpick enemys if the versatility is low it means the player spamming heroes without counterpicking the enemy heroes.

hello sir jenkins, I love your content.. I just want to ask sir, picking 5 heroes at max, means doesnt require you to play high skilled heroes like Invoker, meepo etc.. to be an immortal player?
Maybe a radiance offlane wk is bad, but what about necrobook, skeleton talents, blink, armlet wk? Something like that, maybe add a vlads for your team and even more sustain.

Offlane wraith king is pretty good if you build Helm Dom, (soulring), blink, BKB, vlads. You can use your dom creep to guide the skeletons to enemy jungel camps. And you can push and initiate.
When you say "do your job, then carry" and go into saying how you actually do agree that your teammates wont play with you, it actually makes me second think if I even want to climb mmr. Honestly the reason why I want to get higher mmr is to play with "better" players that are going to cooperate and not play single player. You're saying that this is never true, so then maybe I don't actually want to climb mmr. Its really sad how toxic dota is that at any level of mmr people feel as though they can't be successful as playing lich and bane. Those are the heroes I like to play because we can pull off cool plays working together.

Those statements are not mutually exclusive. You won't be a master of all 5 positions. Nobody is, nobody ever was, nobody ever will be.
Meanwhile in a 300 MMR low prio pub game: **offlane omniknight intensifies**
I get the whole getting good at 5 or so heroes, but that only tends to work at extremely high MMR brackets where you work in teams - as many of the players at that end are willing to work and tailor around others’ gameplay, whilst traits can be easily exploited through communication.
The point being, there are very specific heroes who are fantastic for Smurfing and boosting, for the simple reason being that they’re weak in pro-games but OP in pubs.

Despite having easy hero counters, they can stomp due to the mechanics of the hero often requiring a level of teamwork which isn’t present at or below 5.5k mmr - I know this because of my own experience both above and below.
Let’s say you’re a pos 4 player above 5.5k, and the enemy first picks BB - what’s your go to? Previously Nyx, but now Viper. Would your team be happy with you picking viper? Would they not get tilted? Would they tailor? As said, above 5.5k, yes to all of them; below, no to all of them.
So unless you’ve been playing the game since, practically, the mod - then chances are the strat of “consolidating a few heroes for matchups” is pretty awful, since it’s incredibly team dependent, and practically asking your team to carry you in the places where your hero pick falls short due to the matchup such as the example of picking ember despite a perfect void game. I’d actually get pretty mad if someone did that at my rank. Granted, maining heroes is different - I main Visage, QoP, Necro and VS, but there my go-tos if I’m picking first or going for a nuke counter. That doesn’t mean I exclusively play those heroes, they just happen to be my most played over the past year at least.
So, this is a great video for very high mmr players - not sure much everyone else, I.e. the majority of DotA players.

Yesterday I did call my team idiots for the first time in literally years. I don't do that because if we are in the same room , we have the same skill... more or less. Anyway, I took the time and risk and gold to to block all enemy creep spawns, and took whatever farm I could on the enemy side of the map. I let the my team know to stay on our side and just farm because enemy have no or very very little farm left, and I am taking care of that. what those 4 brain dead players do? go in pair of 2 in their enemy side, where where there was their entire enemy taking turns to farm 1-2 camps, and got killed over and over. They literally substituted the farm I worked to deny to enemy.

Tip : if you have high versatility and you want to follow this guide, pick a hero with versatility instead. A hero that can be a core or support then spam it. Sometimes your personality ( agressive, safe, analytic , subtle) perfectly fits a hero that should be played with. When you come across certain heroes that you are comfortable with, that is the hero to spam.
Isn't Wraithking like REALLY freaking good at running in to start the teamfight?
There's definitelt something to be said about first picking a WK to jebait enemy team into picking Antimage to counter it, only to play it as a pos5 or an offlaner with arcanes, dagger and mek. Worked many a wonder for my games.
But then again, im like 8 versatility, so what do I know, lol.
