Romantic version of the chorale O Mensch bewein dein Sünde Gross played by Peter Van de Velde on the Schyven organ (IV, 90, 1891) of Antwerp cathedral.
l'interpretazione è (credo volutamente) antistorica e un po' provocatoria, con tutti quei registri violeggianti, i tempi comodi, come se si trattasse di un compositore francese di fine '800 anzichè di Bach. Nonostante questo, ci metto un bel "like" perchè Bach è un tale genio che le sue musiche potrebbero essere suonate anche su una marimba che commuoverebbero lo stesso. E l'organo di Anversa, anche se non è un Silbermann o uno Schnitger, restituisce sonorità affascinanti. Un Bach stile '800, che a me piace lo stesso; di esecuzioni più "filologicamente correte" è pieno il mondo, .. ci sta anche questa. Bravo Van de Velde

Probably the most beautiful choral prelude of Bach, with a continuous sequence of surprises in his harmonies.
I agree, no part repeated, about 7 minutes of a continuous surprise.
