I have a 2017 and it came with the oem small led lights I was afraid to cut the bed up for the new style but doesn't look to hard now that I've seen this great video
debiste mostrar como hiciste la coneccion electrica...muy necesario para usar kit 2020 en una 2017 you should show how to connect the wire sistem on this...or how could be compatible... the wire conection is important... because i do not know how to do the conection of 2020 kit on 2017 wires
I connected it to the dome light which turns on when you open the door. You can also connect it to an after market switch. I taped on to the dome light wires and that is were I got my power. Look at the video I did on connecting LED footwell lights to dome light. But this might be a bit complicated.
Just take a picture of the template I did with the measurements and make it. Its pretty easy just use the measurements that I used and it should work. Good luck. Thanks for the comment.
if i have a 2019 tocoma and it already has led bedlighting. The triangle oem beds lights that came with truck. Can i put these light and just plug and play? i want more light in bed. these seem they give out more light the the oems i have.
I don't know if the plugs are the same for a 2019 and a 2020. Mine is a 2017 so I did not have any wiring there to tap into. What you can try is, 1- If you have a friend that has a 2020 or newer, compare the plugs and see if they are the same. Or 2- Buy a set of the new ones and if the plugs are different, strip and solder the wires from the new lights to the existing wires.
The purpose of the video is to show how to make the mounting holes for this type of lights that do not exist on older 3 gen Tacomas. the wiring can be done in many ways depending how you want the lights to light up. They can be connected to the dome light, an independent on and off switch or connected to power when you turn on your daylight driving lights or anything you want. I did a video on how to tap into the dome lights or look at a video by Yota Xpedition they show an easier way to connect the wires to the dome lights. Hope this helps.
@@juniho1000 Look at my video, "Easy way to connect footwell LED to dome lights". After you run the 2 wires from the dome light to under the truck then connect them to the bed lights. It's just 2 wires. I have my foot well lights, rock lights, under the truck lights and my gear shift ball all connected to those 2 wires that I ran from the dome light.
I did it in my 2014 just pairing them like abu other fog lights for example a pin and a button swith that hard pard mas making the holes other than that i think with patience an a little bit of ingenuity anybody can do it

I just tapped into those wires to connect my bed lights. It's just 2 wires. I can do a video showing were I connected them but if you don't have a connection to the dome lights it won't help you. First you have to do the dome light connection and then run wires from there. Hope his helps. Let me know how you did.
@@juliodavid49 thanks, I’ll check that out. However I’d like to connect to the 3rd brake light switch and not my domes. So I was really just interested in what harness you used and how to run it through the bed
@@87Cloudwalker I don't have a four door, so I don't have that switch. I think I saw a video were someone installed the older bed lights to it. You might have to look at that. Sorry I can't help with that.

Glad it helps. It's not that hard. Just remember measure twice cut once. Good luck. Thanks for the comment.

I wish you sold the templates. It'd save a ton of time for everyone and make you a few bucks. Nice job on the install.

Did the plug and play work or did you have to splice and modify the wiring?
No, these lights are plug and play for 2020 and newer Tacomas. I had to connect them to my rock lights which turn on with the dome light.
he does no explained that
@@juliodavid49where is ubicated this wire?
Very nice but didn't show how to connect the wires😢
