You've honestly changed my life with bullet Journaling. I was so tempted to do those beautiful spreads that never worked for me and my full-time student life. With the methods you taught me, my life seems to be put together. Thank you. ❤
I'm so beyond happy to hear that Teresa, thank you! I know the feeling of not having stuff in your life organized and just getting so overwhelmed (lol me all first year of my undergrad), and I'm so glad that you're pulling yourself out of that situation!
We have the same method! I also love to mix Alastair method with original bujo rapid log. The Alastair one for whatever I knew beforehand I would do for the week and the daily is to repeat the task and just put down whatever other things I've done the actual week. It helps me so much tracking what I was getting sidetracked for and or whether I'm actually being productive that week.
Yes exactly! That's why I find the daily logs so helpful, you can see what days were super productive (and which ones were not hehe)! I also just love looking back on months afterward and seeing what stuff I got up to that day!
This has been the video I needed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have never stuck to a weekly spread for more than a couple of weeks, none look good enough or work for me. So then I came across rolling weeklies like you do on the left but I found myself with a page full of to-do's and so much to do I would never get anything done at all. So sticking to the weekly on the left but introducing the daily log on the right and transferring tasks just for that day is going to be a game changer!!!!! it will be less overwhelming and I can just focus on each daily tasks each day!! so glad I've found this video its gonna help so much, thank you and keep up the good work.
Yes! I’m so glad it was helpful! The weekly to do list with days assigned is my go to way of weekly planning, as someone who also gets caught up in all the tasks, being able to zero in on just what I need to focus on on a certain day has been immensely helpful!
I was looking for different ideas for my spreads. I saved the video to try time stamps for the next week. I only need it for one day in a week but I think it will save me up a lot of space on the page

@@KaitlinGrey I'm in Minnesota and it is getting darker here too and windy as winter seems to be blowing in! I'm drinking even more tea as well!!! Also, I had to laugh because I am using the same grey brush pen as a highlighter. I like the size and easier to carry than the long Tombows, but who am I kidding, I have not been going ANYWHERE!

Oh my gosh this is perfect. I typically do a two page weekly spread but find that there isn’t enough space. But I never wanted to do daily spreads because there was no way to group together events for the week.
Hi Kaitlin! I hope school is going well. Are you mostly online this semester? I like how you did the time across the top on the daily log. I find that when I go vertical with the times I end up wasting a page because some days, as you know, don't require lots of tasks and logging. I have never thought of that so thank YOU! I am using an A5 for this academic year and it is wider than I'm used to so I might put some of the hours to the right and use the Alistair method for things I want to note the times, which not everything needs times either. I know you say in your video that you change your spreads based on your weekly tasks & events but when you do a weekly, do you also do daily pages or does that eliminate the daily for you?
Hey Karen, I’m doing well and making my online classes work! I’m really fortunate to have a desk in a quiet space with wifi so I’m setup for all my online lectures! But enough about me, let’s get to your *excellent* question! When I setup a weekly spread, I won’t do my daily logs. For me, I find that’s a lot of stuff to reference, so I like to be really selective and choose a spread for the week depending on what my schedule looks like. But as of right now, I’m using daily logs most weeks!

I’m curious about what you are getting a Masters in? Thanks for answering my question. So then you just use the rolling weekly plus dailies for most weeks, well at least right now. 😉
Hey Trish! Yes, I still use a bullet journal! Right now its in a traveler's notebook, but my system is still very much in line with the bullet journal method 😄
