    Your videos are superb :) No academese ("the flux cutting is propprtional to the cross product of the lagrangian transformation which as will be obvious on inspection is the second order differential equation of mah butt"), engaging style which is fun to listen to, and obviously a huge amount of knowledge behind it all :)

    Hey scotr, a small correction. I have built my own BLDC controller for a 1kW motor. The PWM is what determines the speed of the motor not the frequency. The frequency is a byproduct of the PWM.
    That being said keep up the good work!

    Can you explain more about the ESC's and brushless motor? like what ESC should we get to get that reverse brake and forwards functionality that was shown in the software as well as how is the signaling works with all those modes and what determines the motor features in terms of KV rating max current and power ect physically.

  • @stylex1975
    @stylex1975 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    And how about doing your own ESC, not bought one?
    Doing lightweight ESCs should be pretty challenging engineering task.
    Keeping motor perfectly synced at higher RPM, with soft start, active breaking, changing direction and without luxury of hall sensor is something I would like to see in a video.

    • @zootytheduck4800
      @zootytheduck4800 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Peter Lane it's the same thing. when you do the reverse it is called "electromagnetic induction" if you want to look it up.

    • @UberAlphaSirus
      @UberAlphaSirus 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      you need a 3 phase diode bridge to convert it to dc.

    • @peterlane5006
      @peterlane5006 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Zooty The Duck - Is it? So when you spin a brushless DC motor you'll get useful current out from the ESC? I don't think so ;-) So I'll rephrase my question - perhaps a video on using a brushless motor as a generator etc.

    • @peterlane5006
      @peterlane5006 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Sirus ok that makes more sense - but wind does not blow at a constant speed so something would need to account for high and low voltages... now I'm stepping outside my limits...

    hey buddy thanks again, could you do a video on electro magnetics (think I typed that rigt?) I would like to start a project that I want to add a electro magnet to serve as a lock for a hidden shelf thing I seen here on the boob tube made by "the king of random" I believe, the only people whos I could think to ask was yourself and "the post apocalyptic inventor" by the way you guys should do a segment together maybe like a head to head battle to make something (you both make the same thing but in your own unique way) made from scrap electronics, you guys are inspiring a whole new generation of inventors and entrepreneurs, you may not realize but by posting these videos you could be directly guiding the life of our newest potential geniuses keep up the good work and keep educating the world!

    Your speed calculation for the switching frequency, depends on the pole pairs.
    Calculation: electrical angle / pole pair = mechanical angle
    Your big PMSM has 4 poles (N+S, N+S) so 2 pole pairs therefore the factor ~ 2
    The small motor, PMSM has 7 pole pairs so 14 magnets inside, right ? ;)
    The fact with the KV story is correct!

Thanks it's a dji mavic pro

    What kind of bench power supply would be appropriate for running a bunch of BLDC motors? Like 81 motors each rated for a max 10amp with 30amp esc... I have a project I want to try building but I would rather not use batteries since this is a stationary project that would be used intermittently.

    Hi, I was wondering if you could use a esc to control a stand fan motor, it’s because I have one laying around and wanted to see if this could work, I’m a little bit confused because it has 8 coils and 4 wires, do I connect the main 3 to the esc and the last one that is divided into two are supposed to be connected with a capacitor? I want to see if I could controlled it with a dc supply, even though the output of the esc is Ac, but you get the point. If this couldn’t be done what else I can do to make it work, thank you.
    By the way, the wiring I mention is something I think it could work from videos and wiring that I have seen, but not 100% sure.
