vsett 10+ twist, half, and micro thumb throttle tests. Works on 8 and 9

  • The Vsett 8, 8+, 9, 9+ share the same throttle display and should work on them too.
After I modified my vsett 10+ display controller to use a 3 pin Julet style connector, I was able to try other throttle mechanism available on the market. As long as the throttle uses the same 3 pin Julet connector and has the same 49E Hall Effect sensor, it worked.
In this video, I tested the 3 other throttle mechanism. I was very surprise of how the half throttle worked with the scooter. The advantage of the half throttle is the ability to grip the handlebar tight during rough terrain and still be able to uise the twist motion to control acceleration.
Modification of the original vsett 10+ throttle display to accept the 3 pin female Julet connector.

I've been riding motorcycles for 50 years so I have a twist throttle on my scooter too. Just feels natural to me.

Thank you for this video my vsett 8 handle grips are peeling and I was afraid of replacing them due to the turn signal switch. I feel confident on ordering replacements and doing it myself now. Id love that half throttle switch

With the new display it's really easy to change the throttle to one that fits the best for each. It's also possible to get a half twist throttle which is flush, cut it half and cut a piece from the original grip after the turn indicator part and place the half throttle in between.

Great work. We have a 9+ and a 11+ super 72. We luv our scooters but the trigger hurts our hands on long rides....

Is it possible to get a throttle with a longer hall effect sensor? Or modify the existing one? Meaning that it would be easier to control speed and go slow. My VSett 8 is impossible to ride slow, like in places where theres walking traffic. I have to kinda "tap it" and throttle goes onoff onoff onoff and also theres a delay so it's uttter crap to control.

is it possible just to cut the wire and joing wires, is it not the same as soldering, hate soldering. also is there an adapter that could be used to join wires together

may i ask you. My Vsett9+ does about 50km/h, but display only goes up to 24km/h. Do you know how i can make the display show the right value? thanks

I think your magnet setting is wrong. Check the P-setting and verify it with the default.

@@mypev-diy7269 yeah i put the magnet to 30 but still the same, back in default which is 28 it acts exactly the same. weird enough. thanks for the answer tho.

Why is it so hard to make a throttle with an actual decent sensitivity range as well as a full range of motion without the useless deadspots, shit perhaps ill just see howw these indeed work and make mine own.

The actual change is easy but its in the micro coding. Just need to increase the number of steps. The optional Zero 10x thumb throttle controller actually has a wider, more fine control throw and adapting that to the twist throttle actually makes it works very well. It is also compatible with Vsett but you will loose the RF key.

Your brake rotors are not perfectly flat …. you can hear the pads scrapping the brake rotors during accelerating.

Wow, you pay attention to detail! Yes. I have since corrected them. Ignored them for months until I couldn't take it anymore. Thanks!

@@mypev-diy7269 I just got my Vsett 10+ a few days ago, and the first thing I had to do after unboxing it was to learn how to fix bent brake disks.
Works well now though. That scooter is a demon.
