    There's no question Houck is having an incredible first half. Barring injury he should be in the cy young conversation at the very least. He's definitely found himself this season 👍⚾

      Seems like most saw this pitching staff as the weak area of the roster, but it's become one of the better staffs in baseball. Bailey seems to be the difference.

    Tanner deserves to be the starter for the American League in the All Star game. He was also a first round draft pick. Nice to see that potential has come to fruition. I hope we get another pitcher similar to him in the mlb draft next month.

    • @redseatradio
      @redseatradio  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Only problem with that is if they do it’ll take 5-6 years to even possibly see what we are seeing from houck

      @@redseatradio I hear you Corbin but sometimes good pitchers move quicker than that. Example,,,,, Pirates pitcher Jared Jones was drafted in 2020. He is in the starting rotation for Pittsburgh. And he bypassed college! That was the pirates investing in a high school pitcher. :) He recently dominated the Dodgers. He is. only 22 years old. Another example would be the guy on the mound for the Whitesox tonight Garret Crochet. He went straight to the major leagues. Either way the seeds need to be planted if were to yield a good crop of pitchers for the future. If we don't invest in homegrown pitching talent and we don't want to pay for it in terms of free agents I would hate to see where that would leave us. I think you will find that Breslow will be looking pretty hard on young pitching in the draft this year. Lets beat Chicago tonight.

      If the all star game was today, I don't think he'll start, as good as Tanner been, Luis Gil for the Yankees is having a better year, not by much, but I think he'll get the start, he has a era of 1.81 and Tanner has a 1.91 era...we still a few weeks away, any thing can happen

    Andrew Bailey deserves a lot of the credit for Tanner Houck's emergence ... Houck's talent was always there, but it took top notch coaching to turn his performance around to now becoming the staff ace and a leading contender to win the Cy Young award ...

    I....very wrongly, and like most thought he needed to be groomed for the closer role. I really think he will continue to have the success he has had to this point as he seems to have figured out how to be a major league pitcher. That's as important as having the talent to be a MLB pitcher.

  • @brentbell7235
    @brentbell7235 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Firstly, kudos to both Houck and Bailey. Secondly, the Sox truly need to extend him… not low ball him as they did with Lester only to regret it by overpaying for an under performing David Price.
    I’ve not followed other teams’ pitchers this year other than I know Imanaga is lighting it up for the Cubs. Right now between these two we may be looking at the Cy Young winners in their respective leagues.
    I assume in a few weeks you will do a video about the All Star game. Last year I felt Kenley was added simply because each team must be represented. This year I think Houck and Devers should not only be on the team, but in the discussion to be starters.
    I believe that Jarren Duran and Connor Wong should also be in the discussion as All Stars. They may not get the call due to lack of name recognition, but I think they are worthy of consideration. Even the rookie Wilyer Abreau should be turning a few heads, though very unlikely he will get an All Star spot.

    I said it yesterday he’s our best player right now. It’s tough cause he only plays 1 every 5 days, but it feels like we have a stopper if things are rough. Amazing break down of his pitching adjustments fyi. I love his strikeouts to walk ratio which is a 5.60. To me that’s a wild one too.

    Tanner Houck and Nick Pivetta are the 2 best pitchers on the Boston rotation and for Kutter Crawford. I really hope that he will find a way to get out of his slump and get more wins as well. Bryan Belleo. I hope he will come good as well.

    Hell I'd take a sub 3 ERA or the year... Interestingly enough one of the reasons why he dropped to us in the draft was teams didn't think he could develop a 3rd or 4th pitch in order to be a starter and figured he'd be a top closer so this is a personal screw you from him to them.

    I'm predicting HOUCK pitches a perfect game this month....
    Actually I'm predicting a perfect game pitched, and I'm hoping it's Tanner. I really think someone is going to pitch a perfect game soon. With all these young high 90's with movement pitchers and this sweeper/splitter/slider dominant pitching.....beginning of summer..... arms are loose.....weather's getting real warm....lazy summer DAY game is going to lead to it...can I bet that? Only gambling I do is poker....

    lol at calling someone the best pitcher in baseball when it hasn't been a half season and he's been nothing more than average the rest of his career.
    If yankee fans were doing that with Luis Gil you'd say how stupid that is and rightfully so. So don't be that dumb yourselves.

    hi Corbin, I was curious what your thoughts are on Bobby Dalbec. He’s batting 153. Why is he at first base? Shouldn’t Abrue DH and Cooper at first? I also looked up in his career averages 226 so he’s not gonna get better. I think tonight‘s lineup could’ve been better than what it is. You need to win these games against Chicago what are your thoughts?
