  • Paracord Fusion Ties - Volume 1: www.amazon.com/Paracord-Fusion... The web shows a variety of ways to make a four strand round braid. In short, I found all of them utterly confusing. So I studied the tie and came up with the following. Sigh of relief...this method is a whole lot easier! Video Production by JD of Tying It All Together

Thank you so much for this video, I don't understand why most every other tutorial I've watched does not do it this way. This made a huge difference on how long this braid now takes for me to make. Appreciate you!!! 🖤

i learned this round braid when i lanyarded a knife like 5 years ago, and when i went to rebuild that lanyard, i could not remember how it went, then i fought with the 4 strand round braid for as week+ before i gave up and accepted the 3 strand regular ole braid and its variations. THIS made the 4 strand so much easier to build that i did so immediately, and now won't ever forget how it goes again. thanks a million!

I'm so happy to have found this video. I saw it about 10 years ago & made two dog leashes. I need to replace one leash & couldn't remember how it went. I know it's simple, but a lot has happened in 10 years. My dogs were still juveniles back then, they're 13 years old. now. I think I'll make 2 matching leashes like before. Thank you for showing this simple method for making them ;-)

Nice job on the tutorial. As a person who uses this braid a lot, I highly recommend tying/pegging down one end onto a wall. Although with paracord it comes out nice and even, with thinner twine the braid will twist and kink if it isn't secured.

This is the method I use to make dog leashes (specifically show leashes at the moment), and yes, they do make cool leashes! Right now, what I'm trying to learn is how to braid beads into them, but I have to figure out how to do small, almost unnoticeable knots so that I can do them on each side of a bead cluster so that they don't slide around. And THAT will be an even cooler leash. :D

Great lesson and music! I'm pretty sure when we were kids, that this is how we used to braid coat hangers. It had the knots you made, circling the coat hanger. At the top of our coat hanger was a square finish - I can't for the life of me, figure out how we did it.
But I will tell you one thing.. I personally think it was a more productive way, building up skills in your hands, than being glued to a smart phone. (No batteries needed.)

Nice I've been following the complicated, over involved instructions. Haven't tried it yet but when working with 20ft of cord i think the method you have developed will work much better and with much less tangling. Gonna try it soon but do you think this method could be used with increasing numbers of cord?
Love your videos and your books keep em coming.

I used this braid (called plait in whip making) along with many other patterns and number of cords to make an 8 foot whip. Cracks as loud as a gun shot. Though if you do feel like trying your hand at whip making, I recommend you use good quality 550 cord and pull the inner stands out. Makes for a smoother surface.

Pay attention to the direction your folding each strand, each time and keep them turning the same way the while time, and you may want to loop the lose stand under one of the turns from the monkey fist to hold it in place and snug. Make sure its close as possible to the base or it will look sloppy:)

I'm trying to do this with a centre cord but I'm having trouble getting it started.
I'm using 4 1mm coloured cord with 4mm paracord as the centre cord.
I've got the end attached to a ring (same as what your keys are attached to) so I can connect it to something which wont move, so I can pull it tight.
Could you do a vid to show how to do this please.
