The browning or bluing reacts to the nickel content in the steel depending on which product you using... I normally give whatever project I'm doing a rub down the following day with fine wire wool then a buff and it turns out ok but different products require a bit tweek8ng in how you deal with it
You will never get a dark blue finish with cold bluing, because of the same chemical[selenium] used in the formulas. It always create this blackish color.
i am unsure as i sold the rifle a while ago but i have used the same product on other rifle parts for a few friends and no one has complained about the product failing. i hope this has been a help

You can as long as you do it before you apply the oil also the following day there may be dust like rust residue that you just buff off

Yes all the items I used in the bluing were balistol products

I have noticed very fine rust appearing if not suitably oiled after a final rub with 0000 grade wire wool
