@@RedneckHillbillyGnR ok thats a bit disingenuous. Anyone experiencing heartache over a tornado is not likely to be searching for tornado videos to watch. While your extreme close range footage truly illustrates the insane rotational velocities of a F4+ tornado better than most videos you will ever see, you were very fortunate it didn't shift on you or hit\pierce any of you with high velocity debris....
I’m just learning the mechanics behind tornados but this seems to be one of the most defined / well organized ones I’ve seen. The wall between the low pressure air(?) and the inflow jet is so pronounced and well-separated here. Maybe I mixed something up there but either way, what a beautiful tornado (and terrific footage of it). Thanks for doing what you do to bring us this!
This may be the best tornado footage ever taken for research purposes. Possibly unlocking some of the mysteries surrounding how tornados form and perpetuate themselves. A lot of physics going on right there.
I have no idea how you have that much courage to stay so close even when the only escape are the tiny few roads around you so of course the tornado can hit you from any direction, but you cant escape fast in any direction you want or is safe.. Great images.
Love the clearity of your videos. Tornadoes are scary but so cool to look at. Question, how long do they normally stay in the ground? Stay safe out there.
Actually, the Quad-State Tornado, from just a few days ago, lasted 4 continuous hours on the ground. It traveled a total of 227 miles at a staggering 55 miles per hour, killing over 100 people. This was an EF5 tornado with winds topping 205mph (the minimum wind speed for an EF5 is 200+mph). Still, radar indicated debris was lofted over 30,000 feet and actually carried some of that debris over 100 miles away. Again, this barely broke the barrier from EF4 into an EF5... monster EF5's can debark trees & even pull the pavement from highways. With that said, most tornado's move at a much slower pace, around 10 mph, and are far less powerful with winds around 100mph.
@@tinydancer7426 Twister. Came out in 96. I remember the F5 that they were inside of holding on by a rope lol. In real life, they would be dead in pieces.

There's no way you can get so close to an EF4. Maybe later it became an EF4, but not in the close-up shots. Anyway, the footage is absolutely mesmerizing. Although some Pecos Hank narration would make it even better ;-)
That’s what I was coming here to say. Had it been an EF4 AT the time he was beside it, it would have pulled him off the ground. Although the video is amazing and very unique, and as you say mesmerizing.. I hope these guys don’t come across one of those situations where everything goes wrong. Should they be doing this it’ll mean their lives. They give themselves no room for nature to change its course. I just pray they choose to start playing on the safer side before this time comes.

There's a part of me that wants to scold you for risking your life and getting THAT close, and another part of me that just wants to thank you for capturing such amazing footage. Stay safe!!
You consistently have the best tornado footage around. But at the same time, stay safe! New subscriber 👍
He knows safe or he’d be dead ha.
I've always been mesmerized by tornadoes throughout the 70's up thru this day and age. Gleened thru 1000s of videos, but this is by far the most extraordinary footage ever recorded. Thank you!! Now I can die in peace.

LOL!
This is awesome!! Check out Pecos Hank. Hes got amazing vids as well
The human urge to pet anything dangerous and tame it is amazing. Lol
Figure out how to keep that thing in a fenced yard you'll get free electricity.
LoL! Seriously. Dudes chasing it with his car and trying to run up on it on foot 🤣
Congratulations, Scott, you did a fantastic job! I would have thought that this was a Pecos Hank video. I had no idea of this tornado, until tonight…Beautiful capture!!!
This video should be renamed “hangin out with a tornado”
Outstanding! Thank you for not screaming and jumping around acting like a fool like some of those chasers do. That was amazing. I found myself holding my breath for you a time or two! Well done! Thank you for sharing.
CGI.
your comment is apparently CGI since this video was real@@ponyxpress3
Scott Peake Weather: “Shut up!…There, are you happy?”
Me: “Yes.”
This is incredible video, I don't think the Noaa or the Weather Channel has ever produced film of anything this spectacular. Interesting how the ground was scoured and, this is just amazing. Also Minnesota at the end of December without snow?? This is crazy weather patterns we're having
That was in July. There wouldn't be fields of green corn in December.
@@edennis8578 Thank-you, I didn't see a date stamp lol. I thought strange for Minnesota to have no snow, everyone is having crazy weather right now.
Incredible close up footage. LP, you can see the ground scouring by that drill bit, the broken trees, the debris cloud. The rotation on that thing is nuts. It's so beautiful. So dangerous, but so beautiful. I'm glad this tornado behaved itself by showing off its stuff in the middle of a field. It avoided the farmhouse, let you get close enough to pet it, and even checked the mail. Very well behaved. This is a perfect tornado that didn't seem to want to destroy any homes or hurt anyone. It just wanted to show off how awesome it is to the chasers so they could get its good side. :)
I have seen so many tornado videos and I don’t think I have ever seen one so up close before just tearing apart the ground. It’s amazing how small the tornado is but how insanely powerful it is. I am amazed and terrified of tornadoes
2:51 The mailman must have been confused after that. Also, the point of contact with the ground was so incredibly small!
I've never seen tornado that close. I'm glad I live in the UK where we hardly get them. Keep safe.
Me too but we still get twisters (we applies for uk
I live in Iraq where Allah is keeping our country

@Lala BRUH
Man we get approx 35 a year, apparently! There was one in Scotland a few weeks ago (on TH-cam) and I just watched vid on the Birmingham big one from 2005
Absolutely stunning footage, easily in the top 5 ever recorded...maybe even #1 since yours is so closeup and in high definition.
I have NEVER seen footage like this! I’ve been watching footage since the mid 90’s and this is BY FAR the best. The risk you all took to get this footage was insane; but I get it and appreciate your work. New sub.
GREAT video...thanks for posting! And thanks for not yelling, "Awesome Dude" like so many tornado videos!!!
Outstanding! I don’t think I’ve seen anyone get that close to a serious tornado. ON PURPOSE! To get that close and come away with such fantastic video and photo’s you almost make it look easy. The cyclonic power is massive and it’s hard to imagine what the drill would do to anything in its way. But the video conveys a mesmerizing attraction. It’s got to be scary as hell but I can sense a desire to get just a little closer. Wow! That was cool to watch.
May be the best footage of an up close tornadoe i have seen earned a sub and like bravo.
If there had been more than grass flying, he would be dead. Dirt, rocks, 2x4s, metal, insulation flying at 200 - 300 mph, that's nasty stuff.
1:29 - It opened that car door , ,
Oh really? No way! Thank you so much for stating the obvious.
Granulated human remains is real.
you know the winds of this tornado are probably about 100 MPH so even saying 200 MPH is exaggerating
@@wech1ll990 its an ef 4 so it probably had peak speeds around 200 mph..
this is the most beautiful small tornado ever seen. I could have watched much more of it until the end. thank you
Hands down best light, no dramatics, and balls.
I know it has to be hard to keep the camera still but you have some awesome footage. Great control of the camera. I can't believe how close you are. I think the best part is how calm you are. No screaming or yelling, just calm. Awesome.
Those people are so lucky that they did not get hit because how close it was
@Lala say goodbye to your bullshit spam account
IRS: you get that letter we sent?
Farmer: Nope.
Definitely amazing work! And like others have said, thanks for not being obnoxious like many others. It makes for a MUCH more pleasurable video to analyze.
I bet this footage made Reed Timmer jealous. Incredible!
That's super dangerous though. Those things can expand and turn without a moments notice.
Reed would have yelled and shouted excessively throughout the video😂.
This is the most incredible video I’ve ever seen. I was stunned and mesmerized the entire time. INCREDIBLE. You are very brave, or a lunatic, either way, THANK YOU. I’m still just STUNNED. just WOW.
You couldnt have said it better - I too am stunned, speechless, riveted, flabergasted...unparalled footage that has taken me from " knowing tornados are bad" to viscerally experiencing the terror!
Wow, and I remember how fierce these tornadoes were, because we don't live that far from Ashby. It was horrific. Just about everyone was affected!!
Sad 😔 very sorry do you have a home 🏡
This looks like a digital rendered tornado. Great footage.
because it is
@@northland.. prove it
@@troyarrington5492 Well...Technically he's right....It was caught on a digital camera and the footage had to render to be uploaded 😊😝
Jarrell tornado began life as a skinny little drillbit dancing through the grass. Imagine this tornado going 3 times faster and expanding to quarter of a mile or whatever. Then squatting all over a mobile home site.
This has to be the best tornado footage ever taken. Noone else has the nerve to get that close. This video is truly amazing. Just wow!
Out of all the videos I've ever seen, I've never seen footage like that, That's Epic Footage!!!
+1 Like for the "Got Mail?" bit
Oh, and the insane tornado footage. That was cool too.

Best coverage of a tornado, I have ever seen. Unreal!!!!!!
awesome! Threw me off for a minute as I was searching for footage from this week. I remembered seeing this footage a year ago and hadnt read the fine print on this re-upload. By far some of, if not the best footage out there!
This videographer should win awards! No one has ever captured the tip of a funnel that close up on the ground spinning around! This is unbelievable!
This was in July 2020. Maybe everyone should label their videos with accurate dates. No corn growing in MN in December.
Maybe they made a mistake and edited it, because it looks properly labeled to me. He clearly wrote 7/8/2020 in the description
Just trying to make a buck off of the people looking for information on the recent tornadoes and the heartbreak and destruction they caused. Personally I think it is a dick move to re-upload an old video just to try and make a few bucks during a time of incredible heartbreak for the people who have lost so much. True class act, really.
@@RedneckHillbillyGnR Yeah :(
@@RedneckHillbillyGnR ok thats a bit disingenuous. Anyone experiencing heartache over a tornado is not likely to be searching for tornado videos to watch. People curious about tornadoes or wanting to see one will be searching. On top of that, there are tornadoes all the time so do people need to make sure they don't put their videos out after any new tornado? Or just the ones that bother you?
Or maybe people shouldn't assume and should read the descriptions? Clearly states it was in 2020..
Haters will say this is CGI
Wow. Can't believe how close you got to those tornadoes. That last one was freakie looking, wish footage didn't end. Great pics as well. Be safe out there.
The absolute BEST footage of an "Up close Tornado" on TH-cam or anywhere else..
I admire your bravery, these things are beautiful, violent and incredibly dangerous at the same time, the
sound alone is nightmare inducing and you managed to capture every facet of Twister in 7 minutes..
50 feet from the Volvo and the guy gets out !!!?? FOR REAL???
great video! The resolution really reveals how violent it is
And the fact that they get within like 100ft of it also really shows how insanely powerful it is !!
and the fact that small wind fields exist shows how most people dont know how wind fields work@@heydudewhatsup
That is just insane, amazing shots & footage, you must have a big set on you! thanks so much
While your extreme close range footage truly illustrates the insane rotational velocities of a F4+ tornado better than most videos you will ever see, you were very fortunate it didn't shift on you or hit\pierce any of you with high velocity debris....
No kidding.. insane! That thing could have widened out in an instant..or shifted over..likely the best footage of a tornado I've ever seen.

That is the most breathtaking footage I’ve ever seen of a tornado. Unbelievable!!!
Most tornados stay on the ground for only a few minutes.
Anywhere from a few minutes to an hour.
You should’ve thrown the Barrell of sensors in their while you had the chance!
😂😂😂😂😂
Watching this made me think of the tornado movie with Helen Hunt, the one with the tornado chasers trying to feed a tornado a barrel of sensors.
@@tinydancer7426 Twister. Came out in 96. I remember the F5 that they were inside of holding on by a rope lol. In real life, they would be dead in pieces.
@@AfroCentauri Yeah. It was a roller coaster ride, but so laughable.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
One of the best closeups I’ve seen so far. Thank you for sacrificing 8 of your 9 lives to film it.
Can't find words big enough to describe what you filmed! Spectacular is such an understatement.
You will never get that close to an EF4
Or an ef 3, this is an ef 0 or 1 at best.
@@Overkill_JD Or it's just a digital tornado.
I'm in Missouri and we're under a wind advisory and the winds are supposed to be up to 50 mph and they're supposed to be storms later so I hope it's not another wicked Wednesday , I hate hearing that tornado siren it's right out in the street corner just daddy corner from me , one time I actually slept through it when it went off ! 😬

I have never seen anything like this! Can you imagine that force extending over half a mile . . . .
Everything was perfect for this footage... the lack of rain, the calmness of the air around the tornado... the guy must had windex on his winshield to keep it that clear .... the best footage anyone has ever got out. . Stormchasers try a whole lifetime to get this footage..
And yet this guy manages to do it in a simple car without any fancy photography equipment.... you can actually see close up of the expansion in the tip ... amazing...
I've watched 90% of the tornado videos on TH-cam being im absofreakinlutely obsessed with them, and this is by far to date the most amazing video I've see yet! Incredible footage!
Is this for real, or is it CG? Parts of this video don't look real to me. Just sayin'....
Old video leaves on trees in the north in Dec? But still cool footage lol

If its in a grassy field like that, it’s definitely safe. In a heavily wooded area or near a bunch of houses, yeah stay far far away

Craziest/coolest tornado footage I have ever seen. The first 4 mins are 🤯. Never seen anyone purposely get so close to a tornado but thank you for doing it and sharing !!
There's no way you can get so close to an EF4. Maybe later it became an EF4, but not in the close-up shots. Anyway, the footage is absolutely mesmerizing. Although some Pecos Hank narration would make it even better ;-)
No way its en ef4 on the video.
Love Pecos Hank.
Tornadoes are now rated based on the damage they do, not what the speed is. You don't know the rating of this tornado unless you know how much damage it did.
@@ACE53621 No your wrong..its wind speed and damage. Stop misleading ppl.
