EF0 - The Marginal Twister:
EF0 tornadoes are characterized by wind speeds ranging from 65 to 85 mph (105 to 137 km/h). Although considered relatively weak, these tornadoes can still cause damage, such as peeling off roof shingles, breaking branches, and overturning lightweight outdoor objects. While not posing a significant threat to well-built structures, precautions should still be taken during an EF0 event.
EF1 - The Moderate Gust:
EF1 tornadoes exhibit wind speeds between 86 and 110 mph (138 to 177 km/h). At this level, we begin to witness more substantial damage. These tornadoes can remove entire sections of roofing, collapse chimneys, and uproot large trees. Well-constructed homes and buildings may experience structural damage, emphasizing the need for preparedness and sheltering during an EF1 event.
EF2 - The Significant Cyclone:
EF2 tornadoes demonstrate increased intensity with wind speeds ranging from 111 to 135 mph (178 to 217 km/h). Structures within the path of an EF2 tornado face significant risks. Roofs can be completely torn off, exterior walls can collapse, and mobile homes are at a high risk of destruction. Large objects become dangerous projectiles, and the threat to life and property escalates. It is crucial to seek immediate shelter and follow emergency protocols in the face of an EF2 event.
EF3 - The Severe Whirlwind:
Tornadoes classified as EF3 display a considerable increase in strength, with wind speeds ranging from 136 to 165 mph (219 to 265 km/h). These storms can cause severe damage, including the complete destruction of well-built homes and the collapse of commercial structures. Reinforced buildings may sustain significant damage, and the uprooting of trees becomes widespread. EF3 tornadoes pose a significant risk to life and require urgent action and adherence to safety measures.
EF4 - The Devastating Monster:
EF4 tornadoes represent a significant escalation in intensity, with wind speeds between 166 and 200 mph (267 to 322 km/h). These twisters unleash extreme devastation. Well-built homes are leveled, leaving only debris behind. Reinforced structures can suffer extensive damage, and even underground shelters may not be entirely safe. Large objects, including cars, are lifted and thrown significant distances. The potential for loss of life and catastrophic destruction is extreme during an EF4 event, demanding immediate action and adherence to evacuation orders.
EF5 - The Unleashed Fury:
At the highest level of the Enhanced Fujita Scale, we encounter the most powerful and destructive tornadoes. EF5 tornadoes exhibit wind speeds exceeding 200 mph (322 km/h). These monstrous storms can obliterate entire neighborhoods, reduce even well-constructed buildings to rubble, and cause unimaginable devastation over a wide area. The impact on human life is severe, and survival becomes increasingly challenging. In the face of an EF5 tornado, evacuation and finding shelter in reinforced underground structures or storm shelters is absolutely critical.

Poor farmer. He has the worst luck. Rebuilding his home only to have another tornado rip through it right after his wife arrives from shopping. 😞
😂
After 6 of them he should probably move. What insane bad luck.
Yet still can’t get rid of her! 😂
Poor farmer? Poor Gnome!
And a stronger one each time
Why would you drive your car up to a house that’s about to get hit by 6 tornadoes?
Wanted to get home to their loved ones, I guess
Lol
Omg 😂😂😂😂😂😂
That is what people in Tornado Alley would do 🤷🏻♀️
Liberals, ain't got no common sense
Hats off to the amish for quickly getting the buildings rebuilt everytime
😂😂😂😂😂
That’s maybe the best comment on here.
Mennonites not Amish….amish don’t have car they have buggies
every time the gnome was picked up i quietly screamed, "noooo!!"
Not the gnome!!😭 Rest in peace Shmebulock 🪦

Rest in pieces garden gnome. You were the gnomiest.
He must've been with Reed Trimmers tooo long 😂😅
That gnome don't deserve all that 😭
Ikr
Travelocity finally cashing in those free flights...😂😂😂
NOOO!!! NOT THE GNOME 😭
Short people problems, An EF1 to them is an EF3 to a normal sized person 🤣😁
EF-4/5 tornados also leave behind ground scouring. There have been instances where a foot of soil was lifted during some particularly stronf EF5 tornadoes.
its insane that you can still go on Google Earth and see ground scars from EF-5's in the past. The scar left by the 2011 Joplin, MS EF5 is still very clearly visible now, 13 years later
I have seen the plumbing pulled out of the ground and asphalt roads razed to dirt.
Yup. Alabama a few years back had 3 ft deep of scouring
Yeah, they become nuclear sandblasters when that happens.
1997 Jarrell pulled the plumbing from the earth and pavement off the highway. If you were in it you died. It was coined the dead man walking. Legend says if you see the dead man walking tornado, you are about to die.
Never would expect this on such a clear, beautiful day.
Yeah, where is the parent supercell?
Honestly it happens. You can find quite a few videos of it being sunny around the tornado and the supercell being just off to the side. Usually though, it's hot and sunny before the storm hits, that causes more instability in the atmosphere, increasing tornado risk and strength.
ikr it just looks dumb lol
How did the camera man survive having a car thrown at them
🤯

great comparison on each EF scale and F scale of tornadoes, my guy for the animation!
The tornado: how many times do I have to teach you this lesson, old man??
Proof the camera man never dies.
What I want to know is how that tree on the left keeps surviving.
The camera angle creates a small illusion. The tree is big and located quite far from the house 😊

nothing left on tornado
@info_geek if f5 can destroy buildings like nothing then why did even schools believe Dat hallways were EVER safe from wind going around and around fast??
Great simulation! If you ever redo, can you get in different shapes like wedge and multi-vortex? Or maybe a cone transitioning to a wedge?
Thank you! I will keep this in mind!
Excellent animation. The lawn gnome and the reverse reset were a lovely touch!
One minor thing, the tornado was rotating backwards, but this can happen with anticyclonic tornadoes which are rare so, that’s fine.
and in the southern hemisphere too
@@eltiofresca4998 really?
@@OriginalGaming_8_ Yes.
Yes, that was really bothering me, actually.
That's what was bothering me? I was unsure, just a feeling of "this looks weird"
This seems pretty accurate actually, considering the pictures I've seen from the Indian Lake Tornado here in Ohio. It was a wedge EF3 at 155mph, 10mph shy of being an EF4.
oof. yep i'm about 45 minutes from there and that was hellish to even consider. terrifying.

This is easily your best video. Nice job
That Gnome had a family!
Excellent video and a great teaching tool. I helped clean up the Tuscaloosa tornado which also oscillated between a four and at five. I saw several foundations of buildings with nothing there it had wiped them from the face of the Earth. Until you actually visit a site and experience the damage you don’t really have a good idea. And the lives that it destroys will leave you having nightmares.
Take a look online for the Great Bend tornado 1915. Aerial photo. OUCH! 😢
Superb animation. Thank you for this demonstration.
A coworker of mine was killed by an F-0 tornado in downtown Salt Lake City, it knocked an exhibit down upon him that he was working on. My name is Bicycle Bob and I approved this message and the gentleman's name was Alan Crandy.
Yeah all tornados deadly dangerous. Rip
Beautiful job showing us.
The gnome died each time, RIP gnome
It's name was "Kenny." (South Park reference)
I hope they had a storm shelter😁 awesome animation man.. love your videos... you create great suspense with the music as well!! Instantly subbed... I'm looking forward to watching more videos!
Should be noted taht the EF0 tornado in the video would probably cover the entire property, the EF5 could of easily covered up to 2 miles
Dats wha she said
That Travelocity gnome really did need to get out of there.
3:06 I was baked af watching this and that car scared the hell outta me 😅
What a mess.
Nice work, you even got some ground scouring on the EF5 aftermath
I enjoyed this immensely!👍
The production value is outstanding 👏
A category EF5 is as if the farmer never existed nor had a home. He is wiped out completely 😮
You are so underrated you deserve more. You just earned a sub❤
Thank you very much! We keep up the work and keep growing step by step 😊
Glad to see the cameraman survived 🤠
All the footage I've seen of EF5 tornados that's so interesting is that they're hardly even visible. It's just a gigantic disgusting blob of destruction pouring out of the sky. Nature is scary
The farmer took lessons from the nobles in Monty Python.... the farm burned down, fell over, sank into the swamp and was lifted away by tornado..... and each time, WE REBUILD!!!!!
It makes me... want to.... SING!!..
The car said✈️
After living through the 2007 Greensburg, KS tornadoe I have a new fear and respect for mother nature. The day after I took a photo of a flimsy roof shingle that was stuck in a tree. 😮🌪
Outstanding presentation.
Twister was one of my favourite movies growing up. It was old, but I loved it. As a girl into science the character of Jo was someone i looked up to. I particularly loved that she didnt fit the nerd stereo type.
This reminds me of the typical trailer park news interview after the fourth tornado of the year…Reporter:”Mr. Lunsford, your home has been leveled again. What will you do?” Mr. Lunsford: “Well…ummm…we just gonna rebuild…”
That cameraman was a real trooper. Didnt get blown away at all.
An EF 4 has wind speed of a commercial jet at takeoff
EF5 Description:
Good Luck.
i just moved from a place with no tornados, to a place with tornados and the first time that a warning went off, i panicked for sure.
they are one of the natural disasters that terrify me the most.
fortunately, in the cities, its a little more rare t have them touch down.
And I moved to the desert to get away from them (among other things) just to have to move back to Ohio to help family.
Being born and raised in Oklahoma I have always just stood on the balcony or front porch watching the tornadoes until they are right on top of us. I’ve been in the center of probably 20 or more in my life and it’s honestly really fun. EF 3 and below you really don’t even have to go inside, just be somewhere that a strong wall or something is going to absorb a branch impact. EF4 and 5 you need to go to a storm cellar or a room at the center of the house as low as possible. Also for EF4 and 5 you’d better be prepared for no power, be stocked on groceries(no refrigerated items), have a full tank in case the gas stations go down. Usually never gets that bad but if it does you’ll be thankful you did
Tornadoes are no joke! When you see one don't film it get below ground.
You are completely right about that. Tornadoes need to be taken very seriously.
there was an ef4 tornado like 11 cities away from me and some people died because of taking videos of them
Free will. They chose to film knowing the risks but it's still free will.
Wow! Great illustration of how powerful these forces of nature can be, even at the lowest end of the EF scale these swirling winds of evil can still pose a potent threat. I’m a native Californian and for as long as I can remember, going back to kindergarten and elementary school, part of our curriculum was earthquake education, preparation and reaction. I’m curious and if anyone who reads this who grew up in a part of the country that is considered prone to tornadoes, did you have tornado drills in school? And did they also educate you about them (tornadoes), like what the EF ratings , etc.
From Indiana, yes, we would have tornado drills fairly often. Mostly hunkering down with your hands protecting your neck in the nearest inner rooms
Awesome video.
If possible I would love to see a hurricane video
At least the farmer has a nice rewind button to undo the damage every time 🤣
This was an awesome video
Pretty cool thanks
This guy must have worked hard on this video
Never seen so many anti-cyclonic tornadoes before
I couldn’t live in a place that had these things. I’d be scared to go to sleep. I loved the movie twister it’s one of my favorites. The power of these tornadoes is crazy.
Let's just appreciate nature automatically rebuilding the house.
THE GNOME?!!!
Here from Temple, Tx 😭
Awesome thank you ! By the way what’s the music you’re using ? Thank you
Very neat video. Great job. 👍
I can’t wait for the video game to hit the shelves.
🤣
Lovely weather today, minus that random F5 destroying everything
That poor house judy couldnt catch a break...
2:27 just when I was surprised the windmill survived an EF2 the chandelier survived an EF3
Once again the cameraman survives
Definitely underestimated what an EF2 and 3 can do.
the gnome flying away 😂
Who remembers that movie Twister? Someone asked what would an F5 tornado be like, and they replied "...the finger of God..." 😢
I remember that film. It was Melissa who asked Preacher "Is there an F5, What would that be like?" It was Preacher who replied "the finger of God".
Imagine having to replace the livestock in that barn 5 or 6 times from tornados that take the same exact path
Nice
Best images to learn!!!!😂❤
It Is satisfying to see the barn and everything build back up. and bye bye sports car.
I’m an Oklahoman, and I approve of this message
RIP to the gnome
Thanks for the video. I hope I never see any of these come near my house. I hope that farmer had a storm shelter for several of those category tornadoes.
Take care and be safe.
Having lived in Oklahoma most of my life and witnessing first hand the power of multiple f5 tornados I can say it’s scary how truly devastating they are
You live near Moore or OKC? Those twisters 🌪 were absolute monsters.
3:05 jumpscare
I like how the car pulls up and the driver is like, Ah, I'll just wait it out.
They have also shown EF5s to trench earth. "What's in Your Polygon?" -Chief Meteorologist James Spann (ABC33/40 Birmingham, Al.)
One of the things that just mde me shake my head when we studied it in uni was that we alredy have options for building extrenely tornado resistant buildings, and have for a long time, yet we keep rebuilding structures proven to have extremely poor resistance and to be unsafe. Get this, these alternatives are even cheaper! This insane focus on a certain aesthetic over safety and efficiency needs to stop. If you were in an earthquake prone area you'd probably agree a more earthquake resistant building is prudent if your previous house collapsed. Why not with twisters/tornadoes?
The Musical Choice Is Amazing!!!!
Beauty In Destruction.
EF-5s need a little death metal guitar
3:03 got me so good
If only the ratings were still this simple
3:05 is a 3D glassess moment.
Anybody else staring at the windmill waiting for it to be destroyed
As a tornado nerd, the tornado CGI makes me loose brain cells
3:05 THE CAR ATTACKING ME
I think the RTS (Reed Timmer Screaming) scale is more accurate.
Plus, it eliminates the need for sirens.
😂
imagine superman or thanos 616 standing next to ef5 tornado and nothing happens at all not being effected
Tornadoes are no joke
Cameraman never dies
EF0: Touched
EF1: Spanked
EF2: Violated
EF3: Destroyed
EF4: Annihilated
EF5: Disintegrated
All the damage caused by tornadoes is selectively chosen by the video editor, it has no real physics.
But it serves to get an idea of the destructive power that these events have.
That windmill sucks. It didn’t start turning until 200mph winds blew in
All I’m thinking of is the family guy seen of them rebuilding the barn 💀
If an f5 tornado can throw a car far away can you imagine how far it can throw a human body
The European mind quite literally can’t comprehend this
Tornadoes do occur in France from time to time, even if they are rarer. EF5s have already been recorded, notably in 1967.
