The rear of the stock is made to hold an extra mag in it not for a sling to pass through. The top of the rear stock having a small amount of Picatinny you can attach a sling swivel to it.
That's true, but you can use those holes for a sling. I don't like having the sling mounted to the top of the stock, so I used the left side hole for a sling loop. I carry the spare magazine in my pocket if I'm out after small game with this gun.
Any limitations on how the gun is to be cleaned? The HK MP5 22LR voids warranty if the gun is disassembled for cleaning. This is the main reason I am now leaning towards the GSG. Appreciate your thoughts.
The manual does show how to disassemble the gun for cleaning. However, GSG doesn't include the one size of Allen wrench that you need to remove the stop block (3mm). Fortunately for me, I have several sets of Allen wrenches so it was easy for me to grab the right one.

The section that looks like a suppressor can it be removed, treaded or is it part of the barrel
You can remove it but it’s not treaded it’s just to hide the ugly ass long barrel
