You don’t need to do this.. but so many of us appreciate it and love it and it really shows how much you love drifting. Thanks man. Btw this season is yours! Kill it G!
Always been a big fan of your style. I am stoked to see someone who is still humble and spreading the knowledge and love for the sport. Keep it up man. If you keep driving like you have been you are for sure taking this one.
I haven't drifted in real life for a single minute, only on sims like Assetto, but you're giving us a treasure trove on car setups for free. Thank you, many times over.
im dead ass writing notes, cuz some of the things he mentions are in FH4. which im playing till i get a ebrake for assetto. definitel going to try all of these things on my virtual car lmfao
I've been drifting at a decent level for 10 years and this video was still helpful. Theories I already kinda understood, explained in a great way. Thanks, Chelsea!
Thanks Chelsea, I know its and old video, but it never gets old for us. Saludos from Panama, Central America. You are an inspiration for drifters out here. Would be a dream to meet you sometime or even come once again to our city. Keep Drifting!!
Another great video. Thanks for always being down to help. For the public every time I text Chelsea with some questions about how to setup the car, never a complaint, always helps makes my car feel amazing. Thanks for the knowledge man.
You're a great driver one of my favorites, also I got interested in Drifting because of your video from like 5yrs ago. When you made a how to Drift video and how to do donuts, and now you're making these videos about alignment and grip. You explain things very well compare to others I've watched and asked.
I'm a professional Sim Drifter and always finding my way to this video ! huge thanks for all the info it helped me so much in the last season ! ( Best one I ever had )
I wish I can meet you someday. The way you share information just to help others is amazing. Thanks for all the help with your videos, you are the reason I built a drift car. Jorge, from Panama.
Its so awesome to see you post these videos thank you! You came and taught a course for our series in 2017 and after that the driving level increased exponentially. Thank you for everything you do for the sport.
I have been really intimidated by the idea of tuning my suspension. The way you break it down at least gives me confidence to a) give myself a baseline setup thats not just "set it all in the middle" and b) what to feel for when making adjustments. Thank you so much for passing along the knowledge. I want to come back to the school sometime to talk setup and improve my driving. It might be a good idea to put all of these setup vids in a playlist.
I used to compete in 1/10 Rc drifting in Europe… seeing you talk and explain 1/1 car setup is so so cool when i can compare that to my skills in Rc, Running Plastic tires for example (by rule) creates different challenges, things like hp wars were non existent because of tire damage rules, for example if u overpowered your car the tires would literally melt and increase grip which was not allowed (would result in dq) swaping shhocks and shock oils and springs was waaaaaaay easier and faster than on 1/1 and the tuning options were endless… even tho i wish i had more setup knowledge back then beacuse thousands of different setings was overwhelming at times… Anyways super interesting videos! Lets get that championship!
Wow....just wow. Having someone as skilled and talented as you helping us understand these huge concepts is sick. Thank you for doing this because its nice to have some sort of path to guide you and understand whats going on when it comes to adding grip to a drift car. Some of us only have simulators and video games since the logistics arent there. And we dont get the true 'seat time' but at least with this information, we can learn to practice and understand grip overall.
This video finally helped me understand a lot of fundamental principles of chassis tuning. Stuff like how sway bars add grip to the rear, or what damper adjustments actually do. It finally all clicked in my head. You have an amazing way of teaching really complex things. Sat through the whole 40min video like it was nothing. Also, I finally understand why I'm having to initiate so fast and so late with my car! I have too much grip at the front and the car instantly wants to turn in. A few times I've had really close calls almost crashing on the infield because of this. This video is GOLD!
hey chelsea! you are the man. You rock with this videos, thanks for making them! they are awesome since always... I still remember all your how to drift videos years ago... We all like seeing drifting videos, but we appreciate when those drifters take their time to share their knowleadge.
I have an E36 sedan with a M52B25 (170HP) stock weight, 16" wheels, 205mm tires, 12KG rear BC coils, -3.5mm camber, no sway bar and I'm happy with my setup
Thank you for the information. It's very enlightening and helpful. Especially explaining stuff in a way us regular people can understand it. I hope I can apply some of what I learned to my car. Especially now that I'm putting sway bars back on lol.
Awesome video, I’ve tended to have the same theory’s and beliefs as you, I was so happy to see the spares in the front video, when I first started looking into the front end, I felt grip was important, then after watching stewy do his maniac driving, I watched the front doing a lot of sliding, and started to understand the pivot point, and it’s importance. A car that pivots around the front end is just a weird feel, and it takes so much more room to make transitions and god forbid you get backwards, you scrub that speed really fast, and that’s about the best scenario you can hope for.
Thanks for doing these videos man. Keep it up we love this stuff. Drifting has been such a dark art for all these years so it's great for this information to make it out there. I drift with no sway bars at the moment. I can't fit a front bar with the LS in the way and I removed the rear bar chasing more grip in Pro-Am class trying to pull every last bit of grip from a 235 radial, suspension full soft, 15psi tyres and a healthy amount of toe in.
These knowledge based videos are awesome please keep them coming !! I also appreciate that their 40 ish minutes long slowing you to go into detail 👌 love your work man keep being humble
awesome video! blew my mind! so many extra things I've never though of before! definitely going to wacth this again and absorb as much as I can. THANK YOU
Hi Chelsea these videos are a great help, while sideways I’m pretty happy with we’re I am grip wise can catch most cars and float behind them. But when I leave the line to get to the first clip the car has no drive, it just constantly spinning to the limiter. 450hp wheel , 0 camber 0.5 deg full toe in. 265/35/18 road tyre on 16psi.
Can you do a video explaining how differential setups change how a car drives, i.e, welded, 1.5way, 2 way, lsd, torsen . What the pros use and why? How to decide what you might need? I drove a high powered 1.5way car and could not figure out how to transition, literally broke my brain. I absolutely love these vids, have taken a ton of notes from them!
This video is super helpful and it reinforces a lot of my understanding of setup. One thing I would say though is that this is the perfect rubric to follow for cars above 250hp, lower than that and you have to start resorting to some unconventional setup techniques lol. Like when you went out with your Corolla and had to air up to like 60psi to compensate for the lack of power. It becomes a balance of trying to take out grip while still maintaining enough control to link corners ✌️
This is a great video I've forsure been messing with tire pressures but not clicks on my bc coils but I'm for sure gonna mess with some shock adjustment at the next drift event
Sick videos you have giving all info anyone would ever need if they put all your information together from all videos and has a bit of knowledge. first person i have seeing to put all info out there big thanks 👍. I buy drift cars with sway bars removed and always put back in way better and set up how you have have explain and young fella bets cars with twice power in comp whole time 😁
Dude I really appreciate your videos!! It helps me reflect on previous track days with this video really start to think what changes I want to make and really link the whole thing together!! Thank you!!!
I just started drifting last year with an e36 in pretty bad shape. I’m about to replace all my bad bushings and actually set it up for the season. The car has no sway bars and a crazy amount of toe so seeing that there’s a lot of room for improvement makes me excited for the season. I did alright last year for my first few times, but the car definitely felt hard to control.
My car was hard to drive, slingshot on transitions, I thought I forgot how to drive. I disconnected the rear sway bar and now feel like I can make the car do whatever I want. Made driving fun for me again
@@chelseadenofa Had adjustable front and rear bars both on soft setting previously. I guess what you’re saying is I could have just made the front bar tighter and left rear bar on soft and essentially could have had the same outcome. Still on the same coils you specd for me when you worked at BC
I think the "donut emergency tire" video is so misunderstood, amount of people that use that pic of that car at PARC as an argument against front grip is crazy.. I like to run a small (225) grippy front tire and play with pressure & rebound to get the slip I want. What lots of people forget, is that your front setup is also your "bail button" when drivers in front of you fuck up. If you dial out all front grip and you do a festival event with tons of driving, you gotta bail at least once a day, and its sketch af when there's no front grip.
Denofa is the only one I know that shares this much good knowledge just to see his fans succeed in the drift scene
How about Deane sharing his alignment? That's some confidence there. But Chelsea gives great explanation about how things work, love it.

It does indeed work and translate with assetto vdc
This is the most underrated driver in the game. Even though he first this year. Chelsea is the reason my car is set up the way it is
These videos are fuckin amazing. It’s so cool that Chelsea gives out this knowledge for free.
I've been drifting at a decent level for 10 years and this video was still helpful. Theories I already kinda understood, explained in a great way. Thanks, Chelsea!
The amount of knowledge this legend has been dropping on us is god tier
For more info suss out the HP academy courses. :)
I am German, and i have to say, you Done it verry well.
Wish you the best.
Denofa, the FD Champion for 2021 Mark My WORDS.

Another great video. Thanks for always being down to help. For the public every time I text Chelsea with some questions about how to setup the car, never a complaint, always helps makes my car feel amazing. Thanks for the knowledge man.
This dude on the internet showed me all I need for drifting is space saver donuts.
I love all the info you are giving out for free. I'm literally writing it all down
You're a great driver one of my favorites, also I got interested in Drifting because of your video from like 5yrs ago. When you made a how to Drift video and how to do donuts, and now you're making these videos about alignment and grip.

I'm a professional Sim Drifter and always finding my way to this video ! huge thanks for all the info it helped me so much in the last season ! ( Best one I ever had )
This honestly helped allot for vdc cars at Irwindale where if you don’t run a sway bar the banked corner is almost impossible
I knew you couldn't resist talking about sway bars! 😂 Awesome information dude. Thank you for spreading the knowledge!

Learned a lot from this video. Sway bars and what grip in diff places does. Sharing your years of knowledge with the community. We appreciate it all!
Always great to see professionals share their tips and not keeping info to themselves. Reminds me to watch the HP academy suspension courses.
Thank you for not only kicking ass on the track but also helping us understand how to get better
You have so much suspension knowledge, it great that you share man. Ive learned a lot. Your a good dude
And a hell of a driver
Chelsea is always dropping knowledge
This video finally helped me understand a lot of fundamental principles of chassis tuning. Stuff like how sway bars add grip to the rear, or what damper adjustments actually do. The two last videos about setup was freaking awsome.
So awesome getting tips from one of the best in this business. Thanks for all you do for the sport!
thank you for your time!! thank you for support non professional drivers!!
Loving all this content your putting out. glad to see u stepping up how often u upload
Just showing love. Chelsea is the GOAT
Most helpful car setup advice of 2021
I keep watching it every year to revisit my setup. Thank you so much!
Congrats on the championship my man! This video is my recurring reference to understand my car and its setup
what a master class lesson mate, really appreciate it!
I hope prospec field is watching and making notes and making cars easier to drive
I hope so as well! Great driving this year dude!
All about that grip tune, baby.
I have an E36 sedan with a M52B25 (170HP) stock weight, 16" wheels, 205mm tires, 12KG rear BC coils, -3.5mm camber, no sway bar and I'm happy with my setup
Its badass you take the time to make these videos. Really helping the "little guy".
Can we please get an update on the FoxBody?.. please
Thank you for the information. It's very enlightening and helpful. Especially explaining stuff in a way us regular people can understand it. I hope I can apply some of what I learned to my car. Especially now that I'm putting sway bars back on lol.
Thank you so much for all this info! I am excited to start drifting and making adjustments and learning!
Appreciate you taking the time to talk through this topic. Awesome to have an idea what changes will do before I go test them.
I’m definitely sending this vid to some of my buddies that don’t run sway bars.
Love the info man going to make some adjustments on my BC coilovers next event.
These knowledge based videos are awesome please keep them coming !! I also appreciate that their 40 ish minutes long slowing you to go into detail 👌 love your work man keep being humble
Man the only thing not stoked on this team are the bumpers! LMAO, dale yeah! Keep up the work and the content!
awesome video! blew my mind! so many extra things I've never though of before! definitely going to wacth this again and absorb as much as I can. THANK YOU

Fricking wicked videos mate! So many people keep these things as guarded secrets, glad you're spreading the love ❤
very good explanation of sway bar effect and weight jacking / transition feel
Super instructive video, thank you a lot Chelsea! It would be fun to discuss setup for a newbie like me.
These videos are so awesome and informative. I need more. Thank you so much for all of this. I can't wait to see you drive in person.
Whoa, didn't expect that much information when I clicked. Very cool, thanks!
This vid is great, would be nice to watch the advance pro side of this series
This video is super helpful and it reinforces a lot of my understanding of setup. Thanks for all wisdom my man always love watching you drive I learn a lot from you
Taking notes on how to ungrip, appreciate the info.. thanks!
this was really what many drivers were missing including myself! Thanks👌🏻
He's bringing fd into fame kinda like Vaughn did. Not that others aren't but wow he's taking off these days
Congratulations Chelsea! Good job!
You just gave me a funny Forza Tune Idea...
Low spring rate, Stiff ARB Front
High spring Rate, Soft ARB Rear
Welded diff
😂
These videos came out just in time, I’m building a s197 right now or next season🤘🏼 thank you for your knowledge my guy you absolutely kill it!!
These videos are very informative. I love it keep pumping them out chelsea!
Love your stuff bro, from New Zealand man!! Your the best
SUPER helpful! Really need to test these out to see if it makes the car feel better.
Very informative; definitely saving this to my library. This is your year buddy; bring it home. 🏆🙏
That information worth years! 🤩
I enjoy watching and learning from these videos a lot, appreciate you guys taking the time to do this!
Hell yeah baby! Gonna be a sick episode
Love the videos bro super informative! I wanna see the progress of the fox body!! But you are slaying FD bro I hope you take it all the way man!
Dude I really appreciate your videos!! It helps me reflect on previous track days with this video really start to think what changes I want to make and really link the whole thing together!! Thank you!!!

I did alright last year for my first few times, but the car definitely felt hard to control.
Watched this video. Put swaybars on my car. Everything worked as described. The car is less twitchy and easier to drive
This is great info! How about big wings and endplates? I remember you used to run the wing on the e46 at certain tracks.
Thanks! Stoked for the information I’ve a lot to learn and take to the track
Super helpful thanks! The fact you're taking time to make these videos just to help us out is why you're the shit.
Keep it up champ!! I'm going to apply this to my SIM set up.
I think Dan at one point disconnected his front bar to slow down the transition in the rain and his car did look extremely smooth
Learnt some new things in these videos, solidified some things in my mind iv been doing and thinking of doing. Appreciate the content 👏
You need to put all of these set up videos in a playlist
I might try adding the bars back on my vette and feel how it drives. Right now I love how it feels. But like you said I might like the bars better.
My car was hard to drive, slingshot on transitions, I thought I forgot how to drive. I disconnected the rear sway bar and now feel like I can make the car do whatever I want. Made driving fun for me again
Probably was unbalanced and it needed less bar to do that. Put the rear bar 9”or an adjustable one on soft back on and a bigger front bar.
@@chelseadenofa Had adjustable front and rear bars both on soft setting previously. I guess what you’re saying is I could have just made the front bar tighter and left rear bar on soft and essentially could have had the same outcome. Still on the same coils you specd for me when you worked at BC

Bro! Your knowledge is literally gold 🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙🪙
Love all your videos. Love ❤️ from India
We need some updates on the mustang build please.
I would like to hear your opinion on different drift chassis 🙏
higher psi in the front is the MOVE. Idk why people need ridiculous amounts of grip in the front to prevent understeer. thanks for the tips dude!
Some people are really bad at timing the steering movements and use 100% of their traction.
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience with us! I love this style of videos! And you got this championship in the bag!! 🙏🏼
Now you're just spoiling us!
Awsome info, can't wait to put to use at track
