I've felt that roles don't matter much. What made the difference for me was balancing My Go Forward Roles by Marking Tighter with them on the Opponent's Go Forward Roles. And then I would prevent my Hold Position Guys from being passive by Marking their Deeper Players.
Use cautious mentality if the team you are against is Parking the Bus or playing so deep, you can pull them out of position, cause at Positive or Attacking mentality your team is pushing high up and no space to run at the defense.
That a great idea, will give it a try. Do you think drop the high line to mid block or low block will help to pull opponent team out position too or not? And do you have any tips for away games? I struggling to get result in away game.
Don't agree with the switch of mentality(unless if you're against Real Madrid, then yeah, switch to Cautious / Defensive). Stick to Positive / Attacking and just go Low Block, Trap Outside, Regroup and Counter. Also play Direct and Higher tempo. And if you're still struggling after 30+ mins, you need to turn off Counter(cause Countering football is obviously not working so just stick with Direct). And if it STILL doesnt work, go short passes,lower tempo and Work ball into Box. Lastly, click Encourage and pray.
You have to careful when using the pressing intensity. The higher it is, the more your players will get pulled out of position to press. It's a trade off. Your players will press more but they're more likely to get pulled out of position
Yes, you’re right. But I realized that sometimes in football manager it’s better to press than to sit back. I’ve had situations where I sat back and we won, but in the long run, it didn’t help us win some important matches.
@@DarkHorseFM2023 if I could give some advice. An advantage in the midfield goes a long way to keeping possession. You don’t even need to play a diamond. Two inverted wing backs on defend could give you the numerical advantage in midfield. They still go wide if there’s space for them to run into and there are no passing options but they will look to hold that midfield position. You don’t even have to play shorter passes or drop tempo. You can still use slightly higher tempo and normal passing. I ended the season with almost 70% possession for the season
I check their attributes and see if they’re worth keeping at the club. If they won’t let me have peace and I have better players, I’d just sell them or send them out on loan. You can also try lowering their squad status to squad player and try convincing them it’s for tactical reasons. It’s tricky, but this is how I navigate it.
Constantly Berate when you are down against a team you should ideally be winning or at least drawing even if you go down from the first minute. Go 2 strikers and supporting AML/AMR on each flank, high press, and ultra attack... works 99% of the time as long as you are still 11v11

Or just play Balanced, I have yet to this day never not scored a goal or two against someone "parking the bus"

Yeah agree very good video the problem I’m getting is some players want to play more games . Even after 7/8 matches . How do u get around that 👍
