    I constantly battle good and bad thoughts my life has been a series of ups and downs as are most people's lives today. Im going to try getting back into sports and physical activities in which i only just realized I was missing. Hopefully anyone who reads this including myself later can find something to help even for a little.

    @leapsplashafrog CBT isn't abouty controlling you thoughts it is about examining your thoughts to see if they are irrational and distorted.

      Cock and ball torture (CBT) is a sexual activity involving application of pain or constriction to the male genitals. This may involve directly painful activities, such as genital piercing, wax play, genital spanking, squeezing, ball-busting, genital flogging, urethral play, tickle torture, erotic electrostimulation or even kicking

    Just to let you know, a study by Prof King ( The King Study 2000 in the UK ) compared Peson Centred Counselling and CBT for Depression. Both came out as Equal, with the Person Centred approach having a higher satisfaction rating. In all compariticate studies all therapys, when directly compared all come out equal ! Otherwise this is an intersting video !

    There is no problem with tearfulness, but when it is excessive and overbearing on you, and YOU wish help due to your depression, you can have that help. Tearfulness is one symptom of depression. But tearfulness by itself is not a disorder, it is a normal response to internal/external stimuli.
    I cry, you cry, people cry. Depends what happend and how much it bugs you sir.

    Yo, dazz;
    I'm no clinician but as speaking as one who has weathered a lousy day or two that sounds more like anxiety or panic disorder. Don't hesitate to seek treatment. Losing yrs. of your life ain't fun.

    Why worry what others think about consciously or subconsciously . Things change you walk on they go away.

    Amhlair,you hit it on the head with your comment! This guy went on to be a bag of B.S.! Lack of assertiveness about what you want,how your being treated,your goals,is a problem he says.Of course if the patient feels that he wants to feel better soon and tells a CBT practitioner this after the treatment has not helped,then the patient isn't being assertive,the patient is stuck in some sort of counterproductive thought pattern,which CDT is best for treating.Either way he would still keep billing you and insisting his approach is best. It's like Sigmund Freud and the analysts.This stuff keeps repeating and making money,but not necessarily helping the patients.

    Dear Person Below, question FAO yourselves. What's the point of spending much time examining thoughts or deluding yourself that you can adjust them (ie cbt) With experience one can fully realise the nonsense of this delusion. Picture an iceberg - top above water contains thoughts... underwater is the big iceberg which contains... {add next bit yourself}. Best wishes
