On this week's episode of TheFallenState TV, host Jesse Lee Peterson is joined by U.C. Berkeley Ph.D. candidate, community organizer, and Black Lives Matter L.A. activist David Turner. David has been a part of Black Lives Matter since 2014. In this interview, Jesse wants to get to the bottom of why black Americans are really struggling nowadays-what is the root cause? How can the struggle be truly fixed? While David blames institutional and systemic racism, Jesse maintains that the root cause is spiritual and it starts with the family. Don't miss this epic debate between two black men on one of today's most divisive and controversial groups!

The mental gymnastics these people go through to not answer his simple questions is hilarious. Jesse knows exactly when to pull the 1 2 punch on their circular ideas. He is great at getting them to admit without admitting their ideas are flawed. I love how he does this so simply!

    • @ryananon779
      @ryananon779 หลายเดือนก่อน

The host keeps asking very simple questions to which the answers are NOT simple though. The guest did a great job of revealing that, and exposing Peterson as a dumbass for repeatedly asking. It's the same as if you said to me now "But the mental gymnastics these people go through."
I would have to explain again, perhaps trying different wording in order to explain how Peterson asks loaded questions which end up revealing him to be a moron.
"But the mental gymnastics these people go through."
Again, Peterson is deliberately asking questions which he knows have complex answers, as if they have simple answers, which reveals how disingenuous he is.
"But the mental gymnastics these people go through."
      🤨
There come a point when you have to understand you're dealing with the mentally retarded.

I spent 39 years in education. 16 as a teacher and 23 as an administrator. These 39 years of my work, some at low income schools and some at wealthy neighborhoods. Statistically black and hispanic kids got in trouble the most. Again, both black and Hispanic kids underperformed the rest of the student body. As a brown and Spanish administrator, i can say that the data does not lie. Students mostly got in trouble within their groups, very seldom did they get in trouble because of racism. We need to look at culture. Look at Baltimore as case study, BILLIONS have been poured into their city and they still have the same results.

It is incredible to see an educated man so obviously denying conclusions that are so obvious. He asked him about the role of the parents and a stable family with a functioning marriage and positive influence, and we can see how much he is resisting accepting this important part into the equation. There is this paradigm he just doesn't want to challenge at all. That is not an academic mindset, or even an open-minded effort to examine a challenge and a problem. This is essentially a dogmatic approach to coming about life. His goal is to see himself as a member of the "educated elite" and to be morally above the opposing side. He isn't looking to be correct, regardless of what that would be.

It's not the school black or white, it's the family structure.
I never understood that until I married an Asian and witnessed how much attention she placed and spent on education.
We, for example, did not buy a video game system, and even though choosing education over being able to purchase our own home or get a new car, we rented and drove beaters but paid thousands and sent all three of our kids to Saturday school, 10 years each.
That's how we gave our kids the tools to succeed, because simply relying on basic school programs won't do the trick.
It's the parents, and it takes two.

We know that more than half of all black children live in single-parent households, a number that has doubled - doubled - since we were children. We know the statistics - that children who grow up without a father are five times more likely to live in poverty and commit crime; nine times more likely to drop out of schools and 20 times more likely to end up in prison. They are more likely to have behavioral problems, or run away from home or become teenage parents themselves. And the foundations of our community are weaker because of it. -Sen. I was at a parent teacher conference and the teacher was telling me how well behaved my daughter was. She’s a straight A student with a good attitude and she does well in class. We had a great conversation and she opened up to me. She went on to tell me that she can tell which kids will “make it” and which ones won’t. It’s the same pattern. The successful kids have at LEAST one parent show up for school events and the most successful will have both. The kids who will have a very difficult time are the ones where NO parent shows up for school events or is involved in any aspect of the child’s education. They’re raised by their grandparents or a single parent (usually the mother) who is too busy or just not interested in their child’s development, to go beyond the basic needs a child has to succeed in life. It doesn’t matter what color you are, there’s a formula that works. There are plenty of white kids who are in the same position. The difference is, white people aren’t blaming black people for their misfortune. Period. Yes, there are exceptions to the rule, but no one can deny the fact that having a good, healthy upbringing and being a 2 parent household with a mother and father who care, has a direct impact on the lives of their children. Teaching your kids that the white man is evil and they’ll never amount to anything is a recipe for disaster.

And the kids that did excel, got bullied so he would have to hide their grades from other students.
He eventually left that school because it was just too much of an uphill battle. He now teaches English for Asian students and says the problem is parents caring TOO MUCH.

My mama lost her Daddy when she was 5yo, my Daddy lost his Mama when he was 4yo. They both worked in the fields growing up. Including cotton fields. They grew up depression era, southern usa on the farm before any social programs (no social security). My maternal grandmother, in addition to working in the cotton fields, rode the bus with her small children to school where she worked in the lunchroom to pay for her childrens' lunch. Yhey never used or allowed us to use poverty to claim victim. Shudder the thought! We were raised with character, morals, study and work ethic, respect authority, love one another and love our neighbor. Above all, I was raised in church. Some of my earliest memories are of sitting beside my grandmother in church, singing "In the Garden".

Tammy, I’m a White American that was born and raised in Houston, Texas in the 1950s. My parents were divorced when I was 5. My Mother worked hard to raise 4 kids during a time in our history when women didn’t make a comparable wage to men. There were not any assistance programs for white families during any part of my life that I can think of. If there were it wasn’t well known or readily available. There were no White College Funds. Are there any today? I don’t know. We grew up knowing that if we wanted something then we would have to work for the money to buy what we needed and wanted.
We too were taught right from wrong and to do right instead of wrong. Yes, stealing, selling drugs, and many other unethical means of making money might make a person wealthier than the next man but it’s a sinful route to wealth and self satisfaction. Taking that route lead to an early death or prison.
Today, It’s sad to see the devastating effects resulting from the welfare programs of the 1960s. Programs that were created to help one particular Ethnic group improve their way of life….and it never seemed to be enough.
Education, Knowledge, Skills, Ethics, and Honesty don’t seem to be inspiring to many people.
BLM marches have brought us burned down communities, police departments, Federal Court buildings, stores, automobiles, attacks on police, and untold other crimes, yet the leaders of the organization have made hundreds of millions of dollars due to the crimes. They glorify crime. They shoot each other one day and the next day tell the world that Black Lives Matter.
Isn’t it a shame that all people who have come to The United States of America do not raise their children to be respectful and responsible people? Some don’t even raise their children at all. There is no excuse…in my opinion.
