I may have been a little too evil giving you all these cards that the entire Runeterra community was wrong about when they got revealed. That being said, this is my favorite video on the entire internet.
I think it’s hard for a hs player to understand how expensive removal is in runeterra. In hearthstone a minion surviving on board for more than 2 turns is pretty rare because basically all units come with the equivalent of challenger.
Yeah. Most people who came from hearthstone, including people like swim, extremely underestimated removal in LoR when they first saw the cards. Cards like withering wail (deal 1 to all enemy units + heal 3) or grasp of the undying (deal 3 damage to a single unit + heal 3) in HS would probably cost 2 mana, while in LoR those cards cost 5.
@@dificulttocure spell mana is also a big deal when it comes to evaluating spells, basically all spells cost like 1-2 more than they would in hearthstone as a baseline, because you can save excess mana.
Yeah, broadwing is a really good card even in a vacuum because it's essentially 2 mana "deal 3," but in hearthstone there's literally a deal 3 spell with an upside lol (would be absolutely busted in LoR)
@@dificulttocure Hearthstone actually did print Grasp of the Undying (with a different name of course). It costed 3 mana and was quite good. Your points are overall correct though.

I’d like you to do an expedition, and have someone coach you through the draft phase. Expedition is basically LOR’s arena mode. I think it would be fun to hear your thought process, and then see what the optimal pick would be.
Oh man I havent played Runeterra since it was released. But these videos with the colabbing between games are so entertaining. Very glad to have found this channel. I would like to see more of these videos of you want to make them. Such content much wow
7:56 So about this card and spells in general, one thing to keep in mind in runeterra is that leftover mana from your turn becomes spell mana, which can be held as up to 3 extra mana that sticks around between rounds until it's used and can only be used to cast spells. Because of this, spells are allowed to cost comparatively more than minions while still being useful, and having spell mana saved up can lead to really high tempo turns due to the extra mana to cast spells. So a 6 mana removal is really not something to be upset about in runeterra.
@@luisguillermogarcia3724 no its not... It leaves a 3/3 compared to a 1/1. Maybe in mid to late game it doesnt matter but back when poly was played in classic hs, the difference between 3/3 and 1/1 was massive
This was a ton of fun to play along with! You guys should do another one! I actually got the majority right, but there were some surprises like the Arsenal card.
One thing about Minimorph is that it’s very powerful vs all-in combo strategies but not as good vs tempo based ones. Most aggro and midrange don’t really care if you spend 6 mana to turn something into a 3/3 since they’ll still have a body you’ll need to deal with, albeit a weak one. It’s effectively a 6 mana silence that reduce their stats.
Currently it’s not ran very often outside of Bandle decks that need hard removal. The ones that do have better options in other regions. However it is still a really annoying card due to being “burst” speed removal.
love those kind of videos maybe if you find a magic / shadowverse or vanguard player you can review the cards from there game and compare them, i think you have a good shot at shadowverse because it is nearly like hearthstone
What a great video love seeing people guess how good stuff is in other games. It also just shows how different other card games are from each other. Keep up the great work!
oh my what an entertaining video this is! i used to play hearthstone 3 years ago and i've recently picked up runterra now and slowly climbing my way up the ranks
I love the inclusion of both "This card is mid-tier" so that you're not only showing off waste-of-space cards or game-ending juggernauts, and cards where Sunny admits the whole playerbase made the same mistake as you when the card first released.
This is what I wanted to happen for the previous video you did, where an experienced player gives you more interesting cards. Broadwing is a good test of mechanics, the Freljord synergy is good but it's run in almost every Demacia deck regardless of region, it's just that the keywords are worth more than their Hearthstone equivalent due to MTG combat. Minimorph isn't a strong card, it's actually fairly costed for what it's effect is worth, but yeah it's a tech card that makes all-in combos unplayable. Another problem with megatee is that it can continually target the same mini-minitee, so if your opponent has a lot of small minions they can continue to block you while developing their win condition.
It's funny because I feel like most top masters players would tell you Sunny/Grapplr's complaints about minitee are silly. It's awful vengeance most of the time. It's situationally good, but being unplayable against aggro is a massive cost. Minimorph... is actually so situational it borders on bad. It's just memer and casual player hate fodder.
I ran hothead with an Allegiance deck (means pure Shurima) and Shurima is slightly better at protecting pieces than Bandle City. Also, they changed Hothead into a 3/3 when I deck built. I use a 4 drop 3/2 (terrible statline, hope this unit in specific gets buffed) "Golden Ambassador" with "give your top champion in your deck +2/+2 and draw it". So I enter with a Champion +3/+3 and a random keyword, I guarantee draw the champ I just buffed. It only works with some champions that have specific skills, abilities, statlines, or pre-existing keywords, but it's still pretty funny to have 7/7 first strike Fiora or something randomly busted.
Hearthstone client needs a UI rewamp. Not everyone is playing on small phone screens. At least they should make it adjustable. Maybe I'm playing on a 4K monitor and I want to see lots of cards at same time with ever increasing card library. Same goes for mercenaries, 3 mercenaries in a row with a Full HD screen is just awful.
I think with tribeam getting ranjed so low the reason is that the hearthstone curve experience means you are not likely to play a lot of 3 costs. But in LoR you can use the banked mana from 1 and 2 for piltover peacemaker turn 4 or 5.

Yeah honestly cards with no counter play are dumb as hell. The fact u just play a card that ur opponent cant respond to and invalidates their entire game plan and they just lose is so dumb.
