What countries like UK, Australia, and Canada should realized more or less is that the reason China was cosying up to them was because of their language and cultural proximity to the United States. In the 80's, 90's, and 2000's the number power and market place was the Unites States. China want US business, US knowledge, US investments. At that time it was very important to China's development. China concluded learning form these countries (leaning how to access their economy) would allow them to better access the Unites States. But now the Unites States is not so important to China's development therefor these countries are even less important to China. But these countries never got that memo and over inflated their own self important.
