I really like the voice-acting in this game a lot. The multiple accents took some getting used to (like I know how people had mixed feelings about Xenoblade Chronicles 2, but look how much everyone likes that game now), but they add a kind of charm to the experience. Elvis is one of my faves. I also like how the Asterisks have a bit more involvement in the plot this time around. I would have liked a Bravely Third game with the first 2 casts, but this is fine, too. EDIT: Vigintio probably has one of my favorite voices out of all the Asterisk holders. He's like a mix of Qada from BD and Lugae from FFIV to me.
I know there was certainly a lot of hard work put to the voiceover, but I think the delivery is really weak with many characters. There are a lot of dialogues that are said with a tone that doesn't match with their given situations. On another note, don't you think Gloria sounds a bit too old? If her actress is 20-25, then my point is invalid, but she sounds as if she's in her 40s. Oh, and Vigentio, man, WHAT THE F was that? EDIT: Ok, Gloria's actress is Charlotte Ritchie, she's 31. I think I would've given the role to someone just a few years younger, at least.
@@siriocaz5743 You're entitled to your own opinion, but even in Bravely Default and Second, people complained about some of the delivery of some of the lines. I never had a problem with them, but I do know that when the game came out, people seemed to dislike Agnes' tone for major emotional scenes. I don't really see how the age of Glora's VA affects things. Honestly, it's just due to the chibi-esque artstyle that makes you want to see her sound younger. She's also the queen of a fallen kingdom and underwent a lot of horrible things, so I can understand the decision to make her sound refined and mature. Also, Vigentio sounds the way he does because he's actually undead and the process messed him up completely.
@@superstarultra Gloria seems to be a young woman, anywhere between 18 and 24 yo. A woman of that age doesn't really sound like she does, even those who have a deep sounding voice. That's all my grip, really, and I could be very well wrong because there's no official age for the characters, as far I'm aware. And Vigentio, well, it's the mixture of the lack of proper gestures by the in-game model and the poor voiceover that make him seem like a poor attempt at making a quirky character. There's obviously an intention for his distinct mannerisms, but it doesn't work, it's more obnoxious than convincing. You might as well say that that's the point, but no, it doesn't quite click. These kinds of things are hard to nail when the source material is so stiff, though, there's not a lot they could've done if they really wanted to make him sound ridiculous, honestly.
