BRAVO! Having performed this before on the violin, it's crazy to see it on the flute. And now that I'm learning the flute, I'm just amazed by your breath control, something violinists never have to think about in all those 16th note passages in the 1st movement. And then I thought about all the string crossing bits, that's probably near impossible to play on the flute. Love the arrangements you did in the 3rd movement double-stops section too. Great work!

I love the way you play, so elegant, what a beautiful phrasing and "voice".... totally off topic but I dare to ask you to make a video with any advice to amateur musicians who play both the recorder and flute. I always pay attention to the recorders you have in the background. I remember the case of Frans Brüggen who played both the traverso and recorder and always wondered if you play them too. I hope you read this, but if not, thanks anyway and keep the great work!
Great suggestion! I play a little bit of recorder. I'm planning on some videos about other flutes and even other instruments entirely in 2021. But I love your idea! Keep your eye out for it!

I just got an “advanced” flute (pre professional) to step up from my intermediate for college. I would also highly recommend trying out the flutes before you buy them. Compare them to the one you have now and the one you might want. Play scales on both of them, I played a piece I love on both and compared how I could play it on each of the instruments. Research a lot about the type of flute you may want. The shop near us gave me two types that they had on sale (I’m really poor so this was a once in a lifetime thing, if I didn’t get a new flute on sale or a used one then I would’ve never gotten a new instrument), they had an Amadeus and Q1 from Haynes. The week before my appointment I spent a ton of hours researching both instruments. I looked up videos of people playing the Q1, I could only find one of the Amadeus and I didn’t like it. I decided I really wanted the Q2 (at the time they still had one, they didn’t anymore when I showed up for my appointment). I was lucky enough to have the chance to play them both during the pandemic and compare them to the one I used. I had an Armstrong intermediate flute but it held me back a lot. When I got to the shop they told me the Q2 was gone. My mom lovedddd the Q2 and she told me I probably wasn’t getting a new flute. I tried them both anyway. The Amadeus wasn’t great, wouldn’t recommend it. I lovvvvvvvvveeee the Q1. After I played it my mom and I both loved it. She was still a little upset it wasn’t the Q2 but it still sounded amazing. The sound is beautiful, I can get a ton more dynamics and colors out on it, and it has all the professional stuff you need (C# trill key, split E mechanism, offset or inline G, B foot joint). I would really recommend it. I played my Armstrong and then I tried the Amadeus, and they were very close to the same sound, which was okay. I tried the Q1 and immediately noticed soooooo many good differences. The sound was so much more open and beautiful. If I didn’t have the Q1 to compare it to then I probably would’ve walked away from getting a new flute. The only way to know which one you like is to test out multiple. Find the instrument you fall in love with, for me it was the Q1. I don’t know if you can get an instrument from The Flute Center, I haven’t personally bought from them but a lot of flute players have. I know they have a trial thing so you can test out flutes in your price range. When you try a new instrument you’re gonna have to spend a bit of time adjusting to it. It took me a good five minutes to get used to a heavier flute and different type of embouchure (the Q1 has a weird headjoint and the hole is more square than other flutes). So keep that in mind when you’re trying them out, it’s not that you can’t play it it’s that you need to adjust to it. Good luck!
