You can make really interesting pictures of people with multiple exposures, I play with it all the time with my friends, even in low-light conditions. You can also use an ND filter for portraits with long exposure, and moving traffic trails in the background, but you need a tripod and a steady model.

Very informative and interesting video. I'm going to have to replay this a couple of times to access and change some of the settings that Expert Raw has made available. Being unable to walk great distances, or stand for any length of time, using my DSLR proved difficult to get the shots I was looking for. I have a DJI OM 5 which would allow me to get different angles and prospectives, especially when filming classic cars. So thanks for the video and I'll be practicing with the gimbal and the new Expert Raw settings.
Hi Ian, can I ask if you have the s24 ultra or the 23 ultra? I'm asking because on my 23 ultra it doesn't have the 'lossless files' update option, and I particularly want that for post editing.
@@_SIRENITY_ I have the S23 Ultra, so I'm guessing that is going to be the same for me too. I have only recently returned to photography, but intend to spend more time recording video than I have in the past, so as you might appreciate this is going to be a massive learning curve when it comes to editing.

The 'lossless raw' option isnt available on my s23 ultra. Is it s24u exclusive? Will it be coming to the 23, I don't see why it shouldn't as its an app. I've checked the store and there'd no update available.

What do I use frequently in Expert Raw? Multiple exposure and star traces. This is really cool and you don't have it in any other app.
1:21 rockin the base s23,n i dont have lossless raw but a High Efficency Raw toggle instead. So its the opposite, by turning it off, is it the same as lossless raw?

I luv samsung cause including expert RAW origin in samsung.. not same other brand needed to use third-party app like blackmagic..

Nice tutorial. Thanks, BTW are you able to edit RAW with lightroom now? My photos are getting destroyed when imported to lightroom and no editing is possible (both lossless and not) do you know something about this problem?

'No' editing ability whatsoever?? I knew the denoise was a particualr issue as the RAW files weren't pure RAW- doesn't the update with lossless Raw now solve that? I have an s23ultra and the lossless Raw option isnt available. I'm hoping it isn't s24u exclusive, that would be massiv shame

Graduate filter in RAW?
If Save Selfies as previewed is turned on. Your image (with any text) is reversed, which I find annoying to the max (especially in videos). I highly recommend that this is OFF

Hey, thanks for the video. But I noticed that the pictures always have noise in them, even in broad daylight. It's like there's always some kind of static or graininess in the images. No matter what I do, I can't seem to get rid of it.

except at night without lighting, my camera takes photos at ISO 50. It doesn't look good at night. Better HDR video than photos
disagree with some settings here, turning adaptive pixel fixed the weird issues with higher resolutions. auto hdr turned off fixes the hyper contrast bs
I would love a ND filter for pro video
What annoys me is that the Gallery app changes the RAW by adding a "Samsung Expert RAW" profile, which often makes the images really bad. All you can do is change the profile in Lightroom, as if you didn't have enough work.
My galaxy s24 ultra camera settings is not opening when I click on camera settings gear. Any help?

every time i try to edit a raw expertraw photo to LR it change to severe overexposed image that can't be fixed ,, any clues ?
Reason for this is the expertRAW photo in Samsung's gallery has mult image processing applied.
When you load it into Lightroom it strip's that back. You can edit it yourself and it will be more to your taste that way

Expert raw in my experience has been less than. Images are washed out and colors are way off. Same with using pro mode. Using the regular cam produces much better and more detailed and color accurate photos

No matter how I set my ISO and shutter speed, no matter what settings I do, HDR on or off, the result will always be different from the reality. I want the exact darkness of the evening or night I'm about to photograph. I don't see any reason to use expert RAW in daylight. I need it in darker environments, I do everything right, I get the scene, I like how it looks, shoot, but then the result is completely different, far from what I want and what I see when I take the photo. Try taking a photo of the candle flame in the dark..you have the flame in the dark, nothing around the flame, just dark, hit the shutter button, but the result will be a disastrous overprocessed mess that has absolutely nothing to do with either the reality or the preview after setting everything up. Yeah, it gives me the RAW file, but it's impossible to remove that ugly artificial messy red-orange-yellow light around the flame.. Pro Mode is the right one, 100% fidelity, you get what you shoot. What's the point of expert RAW?
I love your videos and kinda feel "home", because I'm a samsung user, you totally speak for me, but only youtubers can actually send a feedback to Samsung, therefore you guys should always point out the issues, not all always praise everything, because obviously samsung gets too confortable when there's too many compliments..I mean, very useful video on how to use this mode, but I think there's need for a video with what is not okay with this mode and what doesn't make sense.

Does the S23 have no option for 24 Mp in expert Raw ? i can't find that.
No that's not there, only available for the main cam in the 24U, despite the S23U having the same sensor.

@@_SIRENITY_ I don't know, don't have a S23u personally anymore, but you might not need it, a bit of history: The s23 always offered a choice between compressed and uncompressed dng (if it has much value over the jpg is open to debate but not the issue now), I don't remember if it was lossy, lossless or uncompressed in the choices, but it had always two options, with the S24 this option was removed and lossy compression was forced upon us as standard, this seem to have resulted in massive banding artifacts in lowlight images (dng only, even the embedded preview looked fine), Samsung reacted by returning the option for letting the user chose the compression option.
@@donnawetter1513 I have only had my s23u a couple of weeks, but went through a bunch of past videos and articles up to current with on changes and updates.
In Expert Raw there is no choice of how to save the Raw file itself specifically. Just the general save as JPEG, Raw, or both.
So the Raw can't use post edit options like 'denoise' in Lightroom because the Raws aren't pure. Having the Lossless file (I think) may solve that. Possibly the ability to edit colour in HDR also, as currently we can't do that.

great tutorial. However. In my opinion the cameras are not consistent no matter what settings you use. every 1 out of 3 photos aren't clear. My note 20 was much better!

What for? You can get everything from the jpg. The DNG is as useless as the one in ProMode. Samsung broke RAW in 2023.
