I have a feeling this is not the last time we see Miaoyi Lu on this channel. She is currently ranked #5 in the world in U12 category. And no, not amongs the girls, top 5 in the world. It probably helped that she finished her last big tournament in Serbia with... 10.5/11 (open section)😮

The reason that games in the 2300-2600 range seem Morphy-esque is because one of the players usually plays a move in the opening that is way down the list of recommendations from Stockfish. Top players stick to the top 2 or 3 moves generally.

  • @ZFosterZ

This is what my brain thinks it is going to do every time I start doing weird stuff in a match, but after the massive trade-off I'm always down about 10pts of material and have no clever moves. Very cool game!

Has Miaoyi Lu been interviewed about this attack? At what point did she see these winning options? This game is INCREDIBLE. The makers of Queens Gambit must be so bitterly disappointed this game was created too late for them to use.

I left chess for a long time until the St. Louis Chess Club was born. When I returned to chess, these young kids, which we called the prodigies, would completely destroy us old-timers.

What I find super impressive here is that In some case the chess game it's like "ok so from here in the 3rd game of the match x vs y he played the best move ... " here its totally different it's like a pure process thinking in a "difficult decision" to take
. I mean for how many times, us, standard chess player were imagining a "winning attack" play to ended up loosing few moves after. Lol nice game

What a game! Instead of moving queen after bg5, what about blocking with pawn f6? Looks troublesome for white!
