      The Bulls would fit better in this topic, they could go smaller with Kukoc, Rodman, Pippen, Jordan and Harper. The only guy that is not a lockdown defender is Kukoc. They could guard almost any position, althought you don't want Kukoc on Curry, but it's a team with better potential to talk about this inter-era matches.
      Problem with the Lakers is really Shaqs gravity, but against 135 screens in 24 seconds Shaq couldn't do much the way he played back then.
      The main problem I see is people just ignoring the fact that amazing players would adjust their game ANY time. We are talking about Jordans, Kobes, Shaqs, Duncans, Pippens, this guys were the best of the best in their eras. It's obnoxius to think they just can't play today. It's obnoxius to think that a game changing superstar like Curry could not adpat in any era too.

    The best team in NBA history to match up against these Warriors would be the 95-96 Bulls, easily. Anything the Warriors can throw at the Bulls, Chicago would be well equipped to handle it.
    The Warriors are primarily strong at the perimeter. The 96 Bulls were the greatest perimeter defending team ever. You have Jordan, Pippen and Harper to clamp down on Klay, KD and Steph.
    The Bulls also have the shooters like Kukoc and Kerr to hang with the Warriors, if they're playing a 2018 style of Basketball.
    The Bulls are a scrappy and physical team, which is what you need to frustrate these finesse style Warriors.
    And then of course you have the killer mentalities of Jordan and Pippen, to go along with one of the greatest coaches ever in Phil Jackson. Btw I haven't even mentioned Rodman's impact yet...
    I'm not saying the Bulls would whoop the Warriors, but if you want a team that could stand a solid chance at beating them, its not the 01 Lakers, its not the 80s Lakers or Celtics, its not the 12-13 Heat, or anyone else.
    Its just the 95-96 Bulls.

    • @oneman9121
      @oneman9121 6 ปีที่แล้ว +37

      Great argument. My only concern would be the lack of front court scoring. Especially if you start Kukoc & move Rodman to center. Pippen & Jordan would do their thing, but the lack of front court depth hurts the Bulls. Bill Wennington, John Salley, and Luc Longley would all be useless.
      Harper, Jordan, & Pippen would have to play all game just to match up. Even the bench backcourt of Kerr & Buechler lacks serious foot speed to keep up with the likes of Livingston & Iguodala off the bench.
      If the Bulls win, its definitely a 90-82 game. The Bulls lose every time if the Warriors go over 110 points.

      I'll say 04 pistons are a close second imo.
      Defensively, they also have the tools to check GSW(Billups/Hamiliton/Prince/Hunter etc provided solid perimeter defense), and Wallace/Ben are excellent interior defenders. Plus, they had defensive mastermind Larry Brown(HoF coach basically).
      The thing is, I'm not sure if their defense would be enough to offset their offensive production.

    • @unbiasvsbias3955
      @unbiasvsbias3955 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      But after the 04 pistons. I'll have to go with the 1983 Sixers.
      They were pretty balanced as a team. Great defense thanks to having great-to-good defenders in Cheeks, Jones, Dr.J, Tony, Richards and Malone. And stellar offense as well, thanks to Tony(20ppg), Malone(25ppg), Dr.J(21ppg).
      The issue would be their 3pt shooting. So like the bulls(95-96) and 04 pistons, they'll have to control and slow down the pace to stand any chance.

    Only teams that could POSSIBLY beat the Warriors (16-17 or 18-19)
    2012-2013 Miami Heat (3 All stars, and a former all star Ray Allen 2nd best shooter of all time on the bench)
    1995-1996 Chicago Bulls (Three All team defenders, 6th man of the year, leader in 3 Point % Steve Kerr, 10x scoring leader Michael Jordan GOAT)
    1986-1987 Los Angeles Lakers (Tied for best offense in the history of the NBA, tied with 16-17 Warriors)
    Dude if the Houston Rockets last year took Golden State to 7 and the Spurs with Kawhi Lenard was able to hold a 20 point lead at home then that means this team is beatable.
    This team is beatable because if your switch everything on and off the ball it eliminates their ball movement and makes them ISO

    • @spriteshownetworkkoc-3165

      Tbh that miami team was lucky to win against spurs. You need defense to beat warriors really nd rockets had that. Spurs was beating miami but ray saved them. The reason y spurs was killing them was because spurs was moving the ball and they had noone that could hold tony parker. Tony wouldve been finals mvp that year he was going off. Warriors is spurs on steroids. Noone would hold steph or kd nd dewade cant shoot threes bosh is okay so warriors would destroy that team

    Depends on the rules. Officiating is completely different but I still think the Warriors would sweep. With old rules, the games would be close and competitive but as long as Kobe doesnt go off they wont even get one game.

    The five all stars on the team haven't been proven yet. So we don't know how that will all mesh, only time will tell. As much as people harp on Shaquille's defensive ability he wasn't a total slouch as mentioned. He could easily average 4 blocks a game in any series. With Shaquille in the post he is going to draw 2 or 3 defenders at anytime which would further open the floor for any shooter. If not he will bully his way or drop his close shots. It goes both way but it really isn't a slam dunk for the Warriors. The point isn't to be great defensively but to make great defensive stops.

      This is the reason why in reality as individuals they're weak
      They are strong by outnumbering opponents.
      With all that talent they're supposed to sweep the playoff and yet they show all these surprising struggles.
      They win only by stacking talents and breaking parity.
      Individually no one of them is really a dynasty leader calibre of player.
      Ain't no kobe magic mj bird hakeem Duncan in gsw.
      It's like patriots with Stafford instead of Brady and Julio jones wr prime Tomlinson hb on defense both prime ed reed and polamaru with jj watts and prime Ray Lewis.
      Stafford isn't the reason why you win.
      Individually no one in gsw is why they win.

    To your point about hand checking at 8:50 I think it would slightly hamper his dribbling ability due to hand checking it'd be easier to strip the ball. It was demonstrated by Kenny Smith who showed that hand checking takes away some freedom/movement with the ball. Not saying it would shut him down though.

    @KDMdagang 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Bro yu cant say the warriors would just beat the lakers cux we haven't even seen how demarcus cousins is gonna affect the rest of the team when he gets back. And demarcus cousins is not a center that can block shots like that. He's a scorer and a rebounder. On top of that you didn't even take the lakers bench into consideration. At one point in time the lakers had Derek fisher, kobe bryant, rick fox, robert horry, shaq, nick van exel, eddie jones and more depth on the bench. The best player on the warriors bench right now is andre igoudala after that nobody even knows who the rest of the bench is. A basketball game is 48 minutes long. That means the starters are not gonna be on the court all game. Derek fisher can guard curry not lock him down but he can contest his shots and play good defense. Kobe bryant could guard klay thompson. Not lock him down but contest his shots. Rick fox can guard kd. Draymond is kind of irrelevant on offense all he does is pass. And demarcus cousins only chance of scoring on shaq is to shoot the ball. I'm sorry but the warriors wouldn't win in a 7 game series not enough depth on this years roster

    • @richardgomes8112
      @richardgomes8112 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 2019 warriors can always have atleast 2 all stars on the court. The way the warriors play with all these shooters around they can bury teams from behind the 3pt line. The 01 lakers don’t have great perimeter defense. No team can outscore the warriors to beat them u have to have great perimeter defenders who can switch on defense which the lakers don’t have. The series would probably be 4-1 warriors

    imma newer fan of the nba (started watching it religiously 2014 onwards) but form all the game footage of the older games (pre 2006) i don't think any team could take more than 2 games off the warriors in a 7 game series if you're being fair and not saying "homie who made an all defensive would clamp *warriors player* and give them 50+", "they too soft", "they would choke" and "*superstar* would step up and have their best playoff series against them" like no teams pre 2008(except the 90's bulls and 03-5 pistons) could switch on the warriors players,guard the perimeter while not giving a lot of open midranges and no teams can do all that while out scoring them. With all that said the teams i think could do the best in a 7 game series 96 bulls,13 heat and to a lesser extent 08 celtics due to their star power,defense, bench and having decent-good shooting.
