I bought a 3100 before I did research (my bad). My question is can the 3100 use a C2 brush head? Can it use other Sonicare brush heads? Thank you for all your knowledgeable input.
Yes, it can use the C2 brush head. The 3100 can basically use any of the Sonicare brush heads, with the exception of those designed for the E-Series (screw on style) brush head and the PowerUp Series.
I’ve purchased more expensive models before, and it seems like it doesn’t last any longer than the cheaper models. Maybe a few years ago most. I’ve read many reviews on Amazon reporting failure to hold a charge or even turn on within weeks or months of purchase, so not sure if electric brushes just aren’t that durable
Hi, great content. I am in EU, so probably here we have 3100 with only one intensity... Have you tried that EU version of 3100 with just one intensity? How would you compare it with 4100 in sensitive mode? Is it a big difference? I am used to softest non-electric so I dont want to end up with electric that is to firm for me... (I also plan to use Sensitive S/S2 heads..) Also if you can compare Sonicare ProtectiveClean 4300 set to low intensity.. I have small mouth so maybe some kids model since they are maybe even more sensitive?
Yes tested these models. The 1 intensity of the 3100 vs the 4100's lower speed/less intense sensitive mode is comparable. Hard to say there is much difference. But the 4100's main intensity is much more powerful. Going from memory the ProtectiveClean 4300 sensitive mode is comparable to the 1 intensity on the 3100 Series. A kids brush might be an option, if you can get the compact kids brush heads, but they are harder to source.
Here in Canada all on sale 2100 for $28, 3100 for $40 4100 for $55 I have two c1 brush heads remaining. Any thoughts on what I should get? Or just keep using my ol HX3240 B till it dies?
Only you can ultimately decide. If your old brush works fine I would say stick with that, but I would pick the 4100 if you can afford it. It provides the better overall performance, clean and I think is worth the extra spend.
It can use a whole variety of brush head styles on offer from Philips. It uses the push on and pull off style heads. It usually comes provided with a C2 optimal plaque control brush head.
looking for an electric toothbrush that is not thick (for my small hands), has a flat head (not round), long battery life and is simple to operate ( push a button and toothbrush goes off after two minutes. what one would you recommend. Thanks.
This is a good option, but the Sonicare 4100 Series is marginally better. This meets your requirements in my opinion. You can get even slimmer handles, such as on the Philips One by Sonicare. But the cleaning performance isn't as good and requires more manual brushing.
Definitely the 3100 series you have? Purchased in the USA or Canada? You should be able to press the power button to turn the brush on and then again to change the intensity. You will hear a sound difference.
clearest and bestest video comparison of two simple toothbrushes. awesome job, please continue
Thank you. So glad you liked it. We plan to continue.
