- St Luke's Church in Lucerpool was just one of hundreds of buildings destroyed by Blitz raids in World War 2. A bomb dropped into the church in May 1941, starting a fire that gutted the entire building but left the outer walls standing.
It was decided to leave the building standing as a preserved shell to commemorate those who lost their lives in the War.
80 years on, the building still stands and is now often open for visitors to walk through a piece of history that was almost lost forever.
