    One of the most comfortable bikes I've owned was a Suzuki Intruder 1500. I put over 87,000 miles on that one. When I sat on a Kawasaki Vulcan 900 it felt about the same as my old Suzuki. The Vulcan is much more comforable than the Suzuki C50, the Honda 750 Shadow and the Yamaha V-Star (Which i would own. I've had my fill of Yamahas). With the Kawasai Vulcan feeling like much more than the others I am shocked that they don't sell better. I had to go to a trike due to my wife's health issues (which are many) but if I were to go back to two wheels I'd give up the HD brand and buy a Kawasaki Vulcan 900 CLassic LT.

Doesn’t quite keep up with my buddies victory gunner, but man.. the 900 Vulcan is a perfect all around bike. Super easy to throw around with adequate power. I bought my 900 classic in 07 with very little mileage on the clock ,but with the extras that are now on her she’s a much higher standard than the LT. Although she’s still in A1 condition I though that I would look at something more modern, and so last year I spent the day looking around all the main bike dealers in Cornwall, and even into Devon. That day I must have covered a 150 miles looking at bigger bikes,smaller bikes,cruisers and sport bikes etc etc ,and guess what my Vulcans still in the garage because I honestly could not find anything in her class to beat her.

      No, but the added power would be really welcome on the highways in the states. This bike only has 5 gears and most riders agree that it either needs a sixth or a different gear ratio to make cruising around 75mph smoother (it's running pretty high RPM at 75mph).
      Still, I'm on my 2nd Vulcan Custom 900. Love the styling and feel and the missing 6th gear isn't a big enough deal to me to make me give it up.

    I bought my '07 Classic LT new. Best ride I ever had and it takes me everywhere the big name crowd goes. As for the 883 HDs, never had an issue keeping up with a stock 883 with my stock VN900D.

  • @snufflehound
    @snufflehound 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I ride a 2009 Vulcan Classic 900LT all stock: I love this beautiful bike, and will never part with it! Other than regular maintenance, new tires, and battery, never in the shop. The Vulcan900 is known to be super reliable. The LT trim comes with a passenger backrest and a windshield which (unlike Shawn!), I find to be indispensable at highway speeds. My wife and I frequently ride 2 up (combined weight 350 lbs), still plenty of power. With its low CG, the bike is super stable in turns and at low speeds.
    The Vulcan900 is neither a sport bike nor an interstate touring bike! It is a medium duty cruiser that is optimal for day trips on two lane twisties. Its sweet spot is in the 50-55 mph range. For speeds 65 and up, the buzz - no 6th gear! - becomes increasingly noticeable. This is not a problem for me cuz I rarely cruise faster than 65 on this bike, even though the top end is allegedly 85-90mph.
    In constant stop and go urban traffic, at 650 lbs, the Vulcan can become a handful to handle IMO. For local errands I rely on my 2014 Honda Forza (281cc, 400 lbs) maxi-scooter with its CVT transmission, top speed around 75mph! Just twist and go. Anyway for exclusively city driving I personally would go for a lighter more nimble bike, say, in the 125-500cc range. But in the end, as with all things motorcycles, it comes down to a matter of personal preference.

      Stator is a much easier fix on the 900 than on the 750, and the newer models (2010 or so onwards) seem less prone to stator issues.

    I've had/have several bikes - the V-Strom1000 was too tall, dropped it twice, the ST1100 was better but I still need longer legs, rode my buddy's 883 custom and thought it was a dog, got a Yamaha V-Star 1300 that's strong pulling throughout the rpm range - starts pulling well in 5th at 70, but it's a bit heavy. I like your review and the 900 is looking good to me.

    Sean, I really value your opinion on cycles, therefore I ask you the following>>> which one of the three would you say (In your humble opinion of course) is the best value>>.1- Kawasaki1700 Vaquero, 2. 1700 Roadstar, OR the 1700 Triumph Thunderbird????? ( I'm assuming you have ridden all three)

    • @Srkcycles
      @Srkcycles  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      i have riden and owned all three. assuming that you are comparing all similar year bikes, i would say that the kawasaki is best value, followed closely by the road star with the triumph trailing behind. you can get those vulcans for pretty cheap.

    Can anybody let me know if these are the stock bars rotated back a little, or if they are a after-market beach bar? Am picking up a 2009 Vulcan 900 this weekend. Will be bobbing it, Hydro-dip 'woodgrain' paint job (woody cruiser) booked in for next weekend, but has standard bars on it. I am after a classic retro look (and something unique with low slung beach style bars on a bobber as the VERY originals were). Like the look of the bars on this one, but not sure If I need to replace my stock bars for that look / style. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

      Ive just found a 2010 model I fancy
      Its got 12000 on the clock so not too many miles .

      @@Lee-70ish Hi, I'm at 15K miles and no issues at all! I did find a great deal on a mustang seat and I do recommend replacing the front pulley w a Barons 34 tooth. You will just cover the throttle and do 70 all day w no vibration.

    • @Veekator
      @Veekator 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Lee-70ish Hi, It's a amazing bike and love mine. I do suggest a Barons 34 tooth front pulley. You will just idle at 70mph all day with no vibration and still have fast response to hit 80-90 mph should you want. It's kept me from getting a bigger bike. Another thing is to beware of ever riding on steel grates and ugh wet steel grating and to be careful on gravel. That narrow 21" front tire will allow you to keep up with sport bikes on the twisties but something to be respectful of..
