Rarely is a trailer so well done that it makes you want to RUN to the movie and see it. This is one such trailer. A great achievement given that it is 78 years old!
This is the first and the best version of a Star is born. Amazing to see Hollywood in color, the golden age of film mecca. The film has an atmosphere of dream, makes you believe that success is within reach, waiting for us in Hollywood.
I have always loved this version. Masterfully acted, with great support by May Robson who compliments Janet Gaynor during the film. This is classic cinema!
These trailers with the guy speaking over it are like today’s sports commentators😂 and they’d never do behind the scenes in the actual trailer lol. So interesting how things have changed
I love this one the best because everyone back then had such class in the 30s woman were soo decutent with there style and long black gloves and hair done in waves and curls and ball gown classic 💖💖💖

She was nominated again for her performance in this film. Gaynor retired in 1939 to focus on her second marriage and her artistic ambitions (she became an exhibited painter).

I wonder if this has been restored. I’d love to see the movie restored.
Since it's in public domain I doubt they're eager to restore and transfer to blue ray.
This will be out on blu ray March 29.
