Just a normal evening stroll down Karrada in Baghdad. I’ve walked this street many times and always get stopped by people for a chat! I love the whole atmosphere here, especially at night ! I feel safer here walking than I do in many places … I hope that comes across in this vlog. Crossing the busy roads is even a breeze! It was soooo hard to cut this down , there were so many other interactions that happened along the way ! All positive! I wouldn’t feel safe walking the streets in other places at night like here! I don’t want people thinking this is a dangerous place as it’s absolutely not at all! Quite the opposite actually! People are so happy to see a tourist! So again , I can’t say it enough times , iraq is safe , if a solo female with blonde hair can come here and enjoy myself and feel so welcomed , then anyone can !

So I hope you will not face any kind of incident during your trip in Iraq . Emma, these places you have been walking through are social places mostly for men, but there are many other places you see women, at malls, at "fancier" coffeeshops, also in many restaurants there are "family" sections there you see women. Actually if you want to see more women, just go to "Al-Mansoor" area and there you will see.

Life in Baghdad is beautiful, and the people are really nice, and they do not hold any grudges for tourists from any country they are, and the safety is excellent and there is no danger of theft or violence.
