I was contacted by an English professor Waleed Khalid via e mail, to invite me to do a Zoom call with his students etc , but things never worked out, but this last minute invite , i was available and had no plans and i like to get out and see the less visited places and meet locals and see how others live.! so this was my day in the country with the Professors!! He and his friends , i met just about everyones family that day, It actually must be nice to live in such a community, i liked it anyway , everyone was so so kind and just lovely lovely people , and such a beautiful area. Professor Waleed has his own you tube channel that ive linked below and there are a couple of his own vlogs from that day on his channel, so check it out! all in all a fun day with lots of laughs all round!

I do like the housing, great rooms, and the gardens are lovely with huge palm trees, that is a very nice village with a high level of comfort

There is a beautiful place overlooking the Tigris River called Maqam al-Khidir , where they light candles on the river. There is also another place called Sayed Idris in Karada, as well as Sheikh Abdul Qadir al-Kilani, Abu Hanifa, and many other places all in Baghdad

Tigris river flows into Iraq from Turkey without crossing Syrian territory. Unlike Euphrates river that crosses Syria from turkey and makes its way to Iraq.

Al-Wasiti was probably born in Wasit واسط south of Baghdad.] In 1237 he transcribed and illustrated a copy of al-Hariri's Maqamat typically shortened to Maqamat, and also known as the Assemblies, a series of anecdotes of social satire written by Al-Hariri of Basra. Al-Wasiti's illustrations, which are among the finest examples of a style used in the 13th-century, served as an inspiration for the modern Baghdad art movement in the 20th-century.
Very little is known about his life. He was from the 13th century who established the school of painting in baghdad . He was known for his articulate painting style.
