In this video, I document my journey of switching from a smartphone to a dumb phone. I have been using a smartphone for years, but I have been increasingly concerned about the amount of time I spend on my phone and the impact it has on my mental health and well-being. After some research and contemplation, I decided to switch to a dumb phone - a phone with basic calling and texting functions and no internet connectivity.
In this video, I share my reasons for making the switch and the challenges I faced during the transition. I also share the benefits I have experienced since making the switch, including increased productivity, reduced anxiety, and improved focus.
Throughout the video, I provide a comparison between using a smartphone and a dumb phone. I demonstrate the limitations of a dumb phone, including the lack of apps and internet connectivity, but also highlight the advantages, such as longer battery life and reduced distractions.
This video is not meant to persuade anyone to switch from a smartphone to a dumb phone, but rather to share my personal experience and provide information for those who may be considering a similar switch. I just switched to the most dumb and inexpensive phone in the world and it was a great decision. I also had the phase where I was checking this innocent phone on a regular basis for something distracting just to learn that nothing will come out of it to distract you. And now I feel the benefits - being more calm, better concentration and a lot time to be bored (which is important to get to new ideas or just contemplating life). One of the best decisions ever.

I don’t know, I really love being able to curate my own playlists and listen to just the music I love. As a music lover, it’s one of my favorite technological innovations ever!
For example, with radio, what if I want to listen to pop music, but the only pop music on all the pop stations are the songs I’m really annoyed by because they’re played too often? That’s why Spotify is nice.

I have always liked flip phones since I first started using cellphones in 2004. I currently have the TCL Flip Pro for Verizon prepaid service and it's great reception and call quality is excellent. I've used all kinds of phones iphone 6s plus, many different android smartphones, non smartphones that are flip phones or just flat with a keyboard/keypad. I don't like smartphones that much anymore because it keeps me awake keeps me distracted alot instead of being more productive during my day after work or on my days off work. I like using my flip phones because it allows me to be free and not always connected like a robot/zombie glued to my phone. Great excellent video man 👍 I like being disconnected and free alot better than being a slave to a pocket computer in my pocket because I can focus and think alot more clear like used before smartphones were available without all the stress and distractions from the smartphones that I waisted so much time on over the years looking at my screen mindlessly at nothing. Thanks so much for watching, I’m planning more videos on the topic. It sounds crazy but I feel like I’ve been wondering around in a fog most of the past few years attached to my phone. This flip phone has already given me back so much time in every day and I only see this progressing more as I continue to use it.
Best Video Ever Keep up the good work. Everybody will research the health risk that can happen due to radiation coming from touchscreens vs flip phones. Less hackers going after flip phones they are always hacking Iphones and Andriods. Life is simpler with a flip phone/dumb phone/basic phone. If you drop touchscreen phones when the glass break it is not pretty and makes a person sad or angry, But if you drop a flip phone it is built to last (Great durability and Impressive quality) it can handle drops and bumps and it will work fine rather you don't have a flip phone case or do have a flip phone case. You will be happy just knowing for years to come flip phones are the best decision one can make and they are legendary, ultimate, and far more superior than the Iphone and Andriod. 100 stars and two thumbs up
Number one. What kind of comment is this. When you know that that is tottally false. That is a huge myth I mean holding your phone to your ear is not going to kill your brain. Come on man. This is a really stupid myth that some people beleive still. It is like saying. Oh well, you can’t charge your phone overnight cause it will relaly damange and that is tottally false. Back in the old days of cell phones yes. You had to bee careful and wtch the phone and it would calabrate even back then. They had nickle cadmium batteries back then. Now days I.OL.S. Will check your battery. It is fine to charge your battery overnight. It is not going to damage it. Also you got to remeber I.O.S. Does not or iphone I should say doesn’t get hacked like android. Android phones are not secure that is why they get hacked all the time but with an iphone you don’t hear of it really getting hacked because of the codes and security that is in place. But you should not base stupidy on a stupid myth like your cell is going to cook your brrain. That is tottally B.S. totally false and a huge myth. People need to stop believing this myth. The radiation is so so low it is not going to effect you. You can talk on the phone when you are charging it and you will bee fine. This is totally a stupid myth that people will believe. I was born in the rotary phone and went through the dark ages of cell phones just like everyone else but when the smart phone came boy oh boy I am sooooo glad it did. Well, I didn’t get on with the first smart phone and I don’t think that really anyone did cause that was back in 1994. Which a lot of people beleive that the iphone was the first which is false. It wasn’t the iphone that was first in the first smart phone it was from I.B.M. The siamon communicator. That was the first smart phone to come in. Smart phones these days can help you with everything from getting up to going through your day emailig on the go and helping you sleep at night. Their are plenty of apps these days. You can easily relax with your phone if you just let your phone help you. So many people that are wanting to juse just use flip phones or go back and try to digt up the past are acting stupid. Plus all the crap you have to take with you instead of just using your smart phone. And most places these days take smart phone pay not some grandma old jitterbug phone. Even carriers these days don’t carry flip phones to much anymore. Even t-mobile. If their are flip phones these days it is not a great huge option like before. Everything has gone on to smart phones. You need a paper map or some way to have G;P.S. which is tottally false. When if you have just one smart phone you have everything in one. You have your music player. Camera, computer on the go. You have your map right their. With a flip phone. Think of all the crap you need to have. A phone. A music player, a d.L.R. Camera a map your collection of cards so you can pay for your crap. You check book. You wallet. All that crap can bee elimited with one phone. Why are you going to make your life harder with carrying a lot of crap when you only need one thing. People don’t think this way that are on this flip phone band wagon. I lived in those days so I know what i am talking about. It is called this. “I want to bee stupid.” Oh and you have to have a calendar with you. One extra thing you don’t need to carry with a smart phone. People are choosing to bee stupid as they do this. Even the dogs think smarter than this. I don’t know who is worse with their brain. Humans or dogs. But it really appears that a dog has a better brain. Sending rewards cards as photos to your Nokia flip phone is a good idea I never thought of that, but typically I’d just use the plastic card anyway, even if I’m using a smartphone I’d just find it easier and more convenient for me to pull a card out from my wallet then using a digital rewards store card or tap & go, I’ve been experimenting a little bit of the tap & go with my phone recently for payments which is kinda fun, but yeah normally I’d use a plastic card. As time goes on considering to go back to using physical cash for a while too that really seems old school these days. 😁💵

I could not see myself regressing back into the dark ages of the flip phone….. I was born during the rotary phone and that was tech back then but we progressed. Society has gotten faster and work is required of us to have some kind of computing devises in our pockets and that includes our smart phones. My iPhone 14 plus is an assistant. I can use it at work and use it to help me unwind at night. Playing my favorite chill mixes, and keeping me going through the evening. I don’t know why one would want to go back to an old dumb phone when everyone knows that we are out of those days. And you have to think the flip phone really is more for the elderly hahahahaha. Well, some elderly people are getting into smart phones but most of them have a dumb phone. With all the things that I couldn’t do before on a flip i can do with ease on my iPhone 14 plus. It makes the dumb phone look sick. Hahahahaha if I need to go shopping I don’t have to go out anymore and this was a guy born in 1979. I am glad that we have smart phones today. Actually I feel that the smart phone wagon has come later than it should have. If only smart phones were made back in the 1980’s course the tech back then was crap but in a way it was good cause it was solid and not so much plastic. The real cell phone had a crappy ringtone. Smart phones really are not cell phones. They are computers that is true a computer with a phone app. I am glad for the smart phone cause of the day that we are living in. I think that most of us or if not all of us smart phone users at one time said. “I am going to stay with a dumb phone. I will never go to a smart phone.” But guess what. We have them and I don’t know hwy and how we lived without them. Checking emails, playing our favorite tunes after work, helping us undefined their is so much that we can do with them compared to an elderly dumb phone. Those days are over and i can’t believe that Genz is just finding out about those things. I mean. That is something that we already knew about way before genz came along. To us that is old. But to gen z it is something new and i say what??? So to all my smart phone using friends lets keep our head in our phone and do what is required of us. Society is way to fast pace to have a dumb phone.
You're completely ignoring the epidemic of smartphone addiction and it's impact on so many people, and their relationships. I'm about to ditch mine for a flip phone because I can't waste any more valuable time mindlessly staring at a screen.
