i know the super nintendo version my girlfriend has the megadrive version also but we like the super nes version more. its also on arcade. and in this version of the soundtrack there is missing something that "movie" instrument. you can hear that in stage 1 (snes, arcade) wait! this is the arcade sort
Good vocal songs, sure, but much like other Rockstar games, the level music is just the same few repetitive notes looping over and over. Game composers today could definitely learn something from these old soundtracks.
It's 1996 or 1997 and this game came to my child hands and I enjoyed it so much. It's 2023 and this video came to me as an adult. And I enjoy it so much!
Mountain Stage 2. I've spent years arguing with SNES heads that while their OST was the "better sounding" of the two (given the superior chip), this one had the better OST. And this Genesis-exclusive tune is one of the main reasons why. Stellar.
Gotta love the last bit of the description- "Be prepared, Sunset Riders has so much explosive action it's like getting too close to the campfire after eating a chuck wagon full of beans."
sounds very identical to the arcade soundtrack, even with the fm drums, i love it however, its missing that konami orchestral hit instrument, but then again, it might not sound that good with the sega genesis dac channel i also love how even though the genesis version isnt close to the arcade version in terms of how its levels are, they managed to get all of the songs from the arcade to the genesis, including two new original songs, which is pretty neat… i can imagine the orchestral hit instrument playing along with it, a bit of a shame that “the rosy setting sun” is a tone lower
Music is better than the SNES though, this is a bit closer to the Arcade, although the Arcade blows both away (duh, more memory and far better FM chip :)).
Konami went with a smaller cart for this game, instead of the 4 Mega they went with, an 8 meg would've been perfect, and we would've gotten more speech, and everything would've fit in nicely.
Am I right in saying that the theme for Sir Richard Rose is in 4/4 time and then goes into 5/4 time? Something I never took note of myself in the past!
Yup, good catch! Of course in my childhood, I probably had zero clue what a time signature was, much less a time signature change worked, much less how to count out beats/measures haha
I always feel the soundtrack of this game has real KONOMI heritage coming from NES/FC. But music in Contra on MD/Genesisi doesn't somehow. Many players criticize KONAMA didn't know how to make good sound on MD/Genesis. Well, listening to this is the proof that they can make it good.
Konami knew how to work with FM Sytnh, they had a long history of arcade gaames to fall back on for experience. The game however, showed that the team who worked on the Genesis version, was not the team Konami should've let work on the game. Couple that with a 4 MEG cart size, and it was a recipe for disaster. The Genesis version however, is seeing a fan redo, fixing everything wrong with the original Genesis version, courtesy of Pyron.
Wanted! (Boss Introduction) starts at 02:54, not 02:55. Speaking of that music, it's also in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters for the NES.
@dogen Except Konami arcade samples were pretty clean. Don't get me wrong, the FM instruments here are fantastic, but it certainly would've benefited from sampled drums + orchestra hits like in Hyperstone Heist.
Yeah, I remember when I eventually played the arcade and SNES version, I was amazed at how much content they cut from the Sega version. Two whole characters and a shit ton of stages, like honestly!

10:58 the best original song of this version
It’s better than SNES version and the Arcade version.💯
@@megavane So True
Red Dead Redemption needs THIS soundtrack.
ExplorerDS6789 good please
RDR and RDR 2 got great soundtracks too.

I loved Red Dead Revolver story mode and Ennio Morricone-esque score, but I don't remember the score of Redemption.

I'M CRYING A RIVER. I want my childhood back!!!
You can still get the games tho
Bury me with my money bro
You have no idea how happy this makes me. This was one of the first games I had when I was a kid... and I remember each song exactly as it was!!

Back when Konami knew how to make a good game and give it an awesome soundtrack. How times have changed...
You keep that spirit alive with your music.
The Konami we knew then, died years ago.
10:58 for the win. Amazing soundtrack!
The best song sunset riders!
I could not agree more. This might just be my favorite Sega Genesis song.
00:55 the best of all time
3:03 perfecta para sacarlo en la guitarra..
10:58 Mountain Stage 2 ❤

03:04 The best !!
Nostalgia... I have a Sunsetriders cartridge (Sega Genesis). Forever.

Mountain stage es una obra maestra
Bury me with my money.... Amazing Soundtrack, every song is good, love it!
I think this is Konami's first Mega Drive game.
Sadly, lots of game content missing from the arcade and SNES version.
Music is better than the SNES though, this is a bit closer to the Arcade, although the Arcade blows both away (duh, more memory and far better FM chip :)).
@@DehnusNorder SNES game was closer to the arcade though. SNES wins this round.
I've heard both version. But those orchestra version was too loud and messy, kinda overrated. This version is perfect.

Idc what people says... Sega Génesis version of the game was the BEST for me back then!
I recently played all the three versions. The Genesis/Mega Drive one is the best and the music if one of the reaons why.
Cuantas veces eh escuchado este soundtrack de niño con mi hermano 16:14
14:04 Great, love it! Excellent match with this character 🙂👍
GENIAAAAL, VERY NICEEE
What an absolute gem. I remember playing this game over and over! Cracking soundtrack too; thanks for the upload.
Es increible este Soundtrack. por favor! mi favorito sin dudas

Que música gracias por los recuerdos !!!
I'm dying when I listen “Me ready for Pow-Pow” really like this melody
The many hours I put into this game in the early 00's as a kid to beat this game and I actually did it took way too long
Am I right in saying that the theme for Sir Richard Rose is in 4/4 time and then goes into 5/4 time? Something I never took note of myself in the past!

*THANK YOU, NICE BOYS!*
Mountain Stage 2 😭😭😭
A versão que mais joguei
Where's my Sunset Riders Remaster for PS5 and Steam?
You and He Big Trouble should be relisted as You in Big Heap Trouble, the line Dark Horse speaks in the arcade and SNES versions.

Konami sound team gang :-)
Is this a same song in both games?
@11:00 This track can only be found in the Genesis/Mega drive version of this game
Weird that this never got released in Japan
Bring on the Orchestra Hits!
...uh... Orch Hits? Where are you?
Whatever, it's still super catchy.
Lol I was about to mention this. But it's still cool to hear Ennio Morricone spaghetti-western music done in energetic Konami style
Chad Serrant Way better without them anyway
@dogen lolno
Not sure why you would like low bitrate orch hits covering up the melody of the song, but it is your opinion. I won't deny that you enjoy it somehow.
@dogen Except Konami arcade samples were pretty clean.
Don't get me wrong, the FM instruments here are fantastic, but it certainly would've benefited from sampled drums + orchestra hits like in Hyperstone Heist.
This sounds more close to the arcade
Tengo de ringtone la música del nivel 1....
10:58 is the best by all my respect to native americans
In comparison to the original arcade machine's soundtrack, this Genesis version sounds pretty good
The instruments are top notch, just wish it had some samples like Hyperstone Heist.
The biggest regret here is Konami not making use of their Lethal Enforcers soundboard for this port of the game
Piel de gallina
i love this game
Game Over clip plays: Oh, I know that one!
The composer for this game also did the soundtrack for Turtles in Time, yeah?

Bit of a botched port, but it had some tracks that the other versions didn't, which is cool.

oof that richard rose theme is fucking trash, rip sega players.
the guys who created this music were insane.
