It's almost only in New Zealand that heavy trucks from all over the world are represented! For example, Japanese trucks over 7.5 tons especially Hino are almost completely unknown and unusual in Europe! Trucks with a long nose from American manufacturers like Kenworth or Peterbilt are also very rare and are often only used as show trucks. This is due to the length restrictions in Europe!

That shot looks like it's at the bottom of the 2nd Sister. In between the 2nd and the 3rd Sister. Been the downfall of many a good Stearer those corners.

Just wondering is New Zealand considering more 4 lane roads? Glenwood Canyon on Interstate 70 in the State of Colorado is a modern marvel.
there are 4 lane roads when you get near big citys, theres even a part on state highway 1 that is only one lane bridge! ;)
Yes near cities it’s easy but it’s mostly to hard due to local geography and environment.
@@ElysiumNZ Not being critical but maybe one day it's all about the government funding road construction. Love to visit and knock down a few Speights.
@@richardcolemanjr3749 Thing is areas like that are in national parks so people will argue against the environmental damage etc. On a plus it does teach drivers to be careful and how to drive on narrow roads.
And also any funding will as always go towards the bottomless pit that is Auckland.
@@ElysiumNZ They're still working on the Motorway expansion in South Auckland, started more then a decade ago.

Different lengths, . The overall length of the unit is 23m including the truck.
If you're talking about the quad axel semi trailers those are normally 50 foot long.
