The original one is more like a hyper-realistic take on him, based more on AOTC than CW, and the new one is more like a half-and-half. Taking the style of CW, and just applying it to the realistic bodies. Really makes it feel like it’s worth grabbing even if you have the old one.
Totally! If you swapped the pauldron on the old Fordo to something realistic, like Deviss, it would be a fully realistic ARC trooper! It’s also just a nice way to get him if you missed out on the old one

I noticed that the skinny vintage collection version works well with the phase 1 clone troopers, and phase 2 should be more in proportion to the original 2005 super articulated clones.
I'm probably never gonna remove my blue ARCs helmets because I wish they would've used a different head, so I swapped one of their heads with the original Fordo to give him a photo real update.
@@RustbeltCollector You can swap the newer Temuera Morrison heads on the bodies, but they won't fit under the helmets since they're a bit bigger than the older Bodie Taylor heads.
I am getting real close to making a tartakovsky clone with the original style with my 3d printer that's articulate, but the joints are hard to perfect with my resin and others that I have experimented with but I am real excited
I just wish they didn't have removable helmets, I know not a popular opinion but I hate the super flimsy removable helmets. It is the one thing that keeps me from buying a lot of the newer figures, I know what a clone trooper looks like, what makes them unique is their armor, so yeah long rant to say I wish they didn't have removable helmets, it that were the case I would have dozens.

I LOVE Captain Fordo, but boy do I hate the face sculpt. Looks like a Cali surfer bro. The figure should have come with a shark tooth necklace and a tribal tatoo

Hey there! I know this is an older video by now, but thanks for the very thorough and detailed review of these Tartakovsky style troopers. They really are amazing and fun figures to own. That said, what really got my attention is that Tartakovsky style Republic Gunship with the tiger shark paint scheme you got sitting in the background. About a month ago I actually found that gunship in a mint condition box at my local toy shop, priced at a ridiculous amount. But after doing some research and soul searching, after a week of agonizing over it I caved a bought it at a negotiated price. Now I’m debating on whether to open it or not. On one hand it would be a tragedy to not open it a drape it with all these cool troopers which I managed to get plenty of. On the hand the box it came in is so mint I’m actually thinking about sending it off to AFA or CAS to get graded. It looks so cool just sitting on my shelf as a boxed item. I would love to get your opinion on that ship, as well as a consideration of doing a video review of the ship and troopers together. Maybe seeing your open ship in all its glory with these clone troopers all around it will help me with my decision. Thanks!
Dude, that is such a tough call! Finding mint boxes from that era is tough these days, so that is clearly a big cantidate for grading. But also, I LOVE having this gunship out of the box and sitting with lots of clones on it. Maybe the thing to do would be to find a near-complete loose on on ebay and store the figures in that! Even if it's missing some missiles, it would still look great and that way you can preserve the mint one. Totally your call, but that is truly a GRAIL find!

But the fact you called it a “GRAIL” find has me thinking I did indeed find something special. I’m getting that much closer now to sending it off to be graded. Thanks again! Seeing how thrilled you were to find yours in great opened condition really has me fired up. And torn! I want to open it because it’s such an awesome gunship, but the one I got in mint condition box is a work of art and needs to be preserved. I’m getting it graded! Lastly, this will be my very first item I’ll be sending off to get graded. I hope it turns out ok. Sending something off like this has me nervous…. 😬

There were several! Pretty much 80% of the clones from the 2008 clone wars figure line!

The stylized thick face paint just dosent work with the realistic figures IMO. Should've stuck with the OG VC Fordo style.
