We had the Lean-to with a fireplace in it but, decided to sleep in the van since this was the first time in winter conditions and it needed a test. Needless to say, it held up very well with 7F outside and 65F inside.
Sounds dam chilly to me and although it is bitter today, we have had a very mild winter in the UK and next to no snow at all. The lake itself looked superb and what a great place to have a seat, on a warm day, I would be sitting there for quite a while. Great drone footage and the size of those icicles shows how cold it is there, which, will the blue skies and sun out, you could not appreciate at first. Cheers Alan
I have spent months of time winter camping in the Pine Barrens...... I have since switched my yearly winter camping to North Central PA...... I feel the need to at least have a .357 on me after a few crazy/unexplainable experiences while winter camping. The pine Barrens are so special though......I do miss winter camping at Goshen Pond.
We know the Goshen Pond area well. During the summer we normally take the kayaks over to Goshen Pond and put in across the street and paddle to the Mullica River Campground. We would stay the night, Hike the woods then paddle over to Basto to get out. Later this year we're going to be heading to North Central PA to Cherry Springs to see the dark skies and hopefully get some photos of the Milky Way.

Stokes is great, really an iconic destination for those living in NW NJ. Many schools in the area have overnight trips their around 5th - 7th grade. Thanks for sharing!

The drone sure did not like the cold air at all. As soon as it got up I got all kinds of alarms from the smart batteries. I picked up the van a couple months ago. I'm working on building it out for some travels soon.

So true. It took a couple hours to adapt to the cold. But, it turned out to be a good day.
