    Why does sulphur necessarily has to make 8 covalent bonds and not 2?

    • @MagnetBrainsEducation
      @MagnetBrainsEducation  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you for your comment! All elements want to achieve stability by either gaining or losing electrons to fill their outermost orbital. In some cases, elements can fill their outermost orbital by making two bonds (like hydrogen), but in other cases, they need to make eight bonds (like sulphur).

    • @KakashiHatake-bf3bg
      @KakashiHatake-bf3bg ปีที่แล้ว

      It does make triple bond, in the case of ethyne 2 carbon molecules share 3 pairs of electrons and the remaining 1 electron in either of them is shared by a hydrogen atom
      It's molecular formula is C2H2

    • @MagnetBrainsEducation
      @MagnetBrainsEducation  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, great question! Graphite is made of many layers of carbon atoms that are arranged in a lattice structure. The layers are loosely connected, and the electrons can move through the material. That is why graphite can conduct electricity. Hope this helps!

    Mam I have a create one doubt in my brain please,please, please highly request tell me about this doubt please clear my doubt but that doubt is not about allotrope of carbon that doubt is about physics in topic of electricity.
    "Mam aap ne bola agar copper wire k end mai potential difference set keya jata hai tow us mai jo free electron hotay hain vo move karne lag jatay hai tow jaha move karte waha electricity conduct hoti hai yeh batt sahee hai lakin mujhe vo doubt hai ke
    " potential difference kaise set karte hai wire mai?

    • @GVaishnavi-ys1no
      @GVaishnavi-ys1no ปีที่แล้ว +2

      when a battery is set on ends of a copper wire the positive side of the battery which is electron deficient generates electric field throughout the wire to the negative side where the electrons are abundant of the battery. this electric field generates the electric potential(V) at the negative side.the positive side has high electric potential than the negative side. and the electron move from lower potential to higher potential side.the difference of the these lower and higher potentials is the potential difference of the battery.
      I know it`s bit complicated to understand but i hope you got it😊😊☺☺☺☺☺☺

      It has high melting point although vanderwaal force is weak but in a hexagonal ring the single covalent bond between atoms is very strong so that a large amount of energy is needed to break these bonds

    • @UmarLateef-or9eo
      @UmarLateef-or9eo ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Graphite has a low melting point because a small amount of energy is require to break graphite.
