  • In this video, Todd, Joe, and I finally get to explore the lower level of this flooded, abandoned mine we've been wanting to get into for quite a long time. We haven't been able to gain entry until now due to the depth of the water level inside of the tunnel. In certain parts, the water level surpassed 5 feet - well above standard chest waders - and the water is chilly!
Todd and Joe took the classy route- bringing kayaks along and kayaking underground until the water level became too shallow. Myself, on the other hand- I took the swamp man approach and trudged through the slippery, quicksand-like mud with my trusty waders.
Inside of this old, dark, and damp underground mine are cave formations developing from 100 years of water depositing dissolved minerals, historic items, century-old graffiti, and a bit of mystery.
Join us underground, exploring over a mile of abandoned tunnels left behind from over a century ago from hard work, hope, and guts.
Joining us on this adventure are @OnTheNextEpisode and @ZiaMountainAdventures . Together, we take our underground abandoned mine exploring experiences to another level. We have hiked several miles underground, documenting this historic place, each one of us with a different perspective. I hope you enjoy our videos, and I encourage you to check out and subscribe to @AbandonedMines11 , @OnTheNextEpisode and @ZiaMountainAdventures channels as well!
This abandoned mine exploring video is shot and presented in 4K and HDR. I recommend for your viewing experience to watch this video with a TV, monitor, or mobile device with a 4K/HDR compatible display. It really does make a difference!

Awesome feature showing the plan of the mine, that gives a lot more orientation what it looks like all there, thanks !

I'm really happy that you enjoyed that addition to the video! It was an experiment that took quite a bit of work to achieve. I definitely plan on doing that in future videos! Thank you!

It felt great getting that one out of our systems! It was a bit plain, but interesting none the less. The thousands of feet of drifting to get to ore passes were insane. There appeared to be a winze going to a small lower level where that steam hoist was, but was under murky water, unfortunately. That mine we were talking about is about due for a visit!

It felt great conquering that one! Almost a year waiting! Thanks always for the encouragement. I think the best offer I'll ever get is making a new Bud Light commercial with their new marketing campaign!

Nice seeing a new video from you again! This one had lots of unusual and cool stuff in it including that “bleeding“ rock, the oxidized blasting caps, the carbide stored in dynamite boxes for some unknown reason, the drainage ditch that kept crisscrossing underneath the ore cart tracks, the loop made by the drifts, and the coral reef-like formations underwater. The graffiti was cool, too. Had to laugh at the graffiti that said “Sch’dy NY.” The miner who wrote that was obviously from Schenectady, New York but didn’t want to write out the entire name of the town due to its length. LOL

Hey, Frank! It's been too long! It's crazy how time flies by. Two months from the last video, and almost 4 months the last time we went out! Although there wasn't much to see artifact-wise, there were plenty of oddities in there. I had no idea that abbreviation was for a town! That makes it even cooler now! We're planning on getting back out there again in the upcoming weeks. Once we get a more certain date, I'll let you know. Thanks for everything, Frank!
