I visited the local Honda, even worked that summer doing 'Setup', having gotten my first bike (CM185T) the prior November. Every visit including a gawking at the CBX, my dream of another lifetime.
In summer 1979 I was told by the dealer the interest rate on bike loans about 20% and a two year term. Simply outrageous. Also for sportbikes the insurance was "double deductible" for the first 90 days.@@drifter9425
Wrong! The 1966-7 Works Honda Six with Mike the Bike Hailwood aboard it at the Isle of Man TT races still sends shivers down my spine--56 years later!! [I have all the engine noises from the 1967 TT races on two LP vinyl records.]. I attended the '66 and '67 races as a young man..
I dont care if electric motorcycles can go up to 300mph. They won't have the character and coolness of these bikes. Electric vehicles are like a glorified oven toasters to me
The only cool about electric cars and bikes is the speed..... The sound is what makes your heart race and makes every hair on your body stand up...... Plus other things
you'll eventually get bored from that instant torque you feel from an electric vehicle.. just because it doesn't have a sound, it doesn't need multiple gears and a useable powerband I.C.E's are inefficient yes, but Electric doesn't have a soul

Part ex'd my MBX 125 for a CBX6 in 1985 when I passed my test. That sound going through the trees would have been like me on the parkway going to my friends house. He could tell how fast i'd be going by the sound it made past his house. Best years of my biking life. Nothing on todays life-less bikes even come close to those 70's and 80's bikes. GT750, H1, H2, Kwack6, 250/350 Lc's on spannies. Ahhh, nostalgia.

There’s an acceleration video of the BMW S1000RR ands it’s truly spectacular. But the SOUND on the first clip is so addictive to any motorcyclist from any era. An absolute stunner.

Honda needs to keep making vehicles tht people love to drive but are reliable... Fuk the mileage.. A little less mileage is OK.. Atleast two three models shld be fun... Not all models..
According to Honda literature at the time of it's introduction, the designer of the CBX was inspired by the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom for both visual and audio cues, including the use of a "spinner" in the exhaust to create the sound of a turbine. I wonder why I've never seen an YT video make mention of it?
I had an original 1979 CBX in silver but it was NOT the favourite motorcycle I owned. That title goes to my '77 GS750 Suzuki which produced quicker lap times than the Honda due to MUCH better handling and braking. The CBX was all show.
When this came out I knew it would be collectable, and expensive. What I didn't know was that they didn't sell well and maybe I could have gotten one at an okay price. I don't remember if I had the financial resources back then. Would be interesting if they could bring it back with electronic fuel injection (port injection). Maybe a little less displacement to target similar power levels.
I just want to enter my phone screen....exit on the other side....decamp with the bike ....and come back once again with my prized possession.....voila what a life then it will be for me....a perfect rider life.....😃😃😃😃😃😃🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
