Hi Chuck, I've been living off the grid at my cabin on the island for 15 years now, much like you I did all the work myself. It's very rewarding and I don't think I could ever go back to living in the city... Life doesn't get any better when you somewhat simplify and become more independent through off grid living, especially here in NL. Damn, you are not only living your dream but the dream of my brother’s and mine. My brother is closer to his dream than me as he purchased a quarter section of property in Nova Scotia two years ago. I helped him put on the roof onto his loft garage (first permanent structure on the property) this fall (Oct 2024). The property is 80% treed and there are nothing but trees for as far as you can see in every direction….like your place but you have a lake. He has a river at the end of his property (lake near by) and a few creeks running through his property. Anyhow, great place you have, log home and property, excellent video with lots of good info and things to think about. I’ve already shared the link of this video with my brother. He lives in Ontario at this time and I’m encouraging him to move to his property in Nova Scotia sooner than later so he can live the dream! Thanks again for sharing.
I followed the build of the cabin & could hardly wait for each video. I think we all will eventually wish we were living a similar dream. OMG such an obvious thing and yet it was like a light bulb went off in my head when you showed your back up propane heater in the living room. We've been looking for a back-up heat solution that doesn't require grid power and isn't a woodstove for times when we have someone taking care of our place. Thanks for sharing how reliable #BLUETTI system is for you. We are looking to get one for our van travel, and then in a year or two build a system like yours for our house. I once had a cabin and had to hook up my truck to it to get electricity. Everything inside was 12volts. No water. congratulations on the great cabin setup. #BLUETTI

Everything looks great. I especially like the workshop. Lots of room in there. The #BLUETTI system doesn’t take up much space. It’s great that you can fit it all in one closet. I also like to water setup. I would be afraid of freezing water. You definitely are living the dream. Thanks 😊
OMG such an obvious thing and yet it was like a light bulb went off in my head when you showed your back up propane heater in the living room. We've been looking for a back-up heat solution that doesn't require grid power and isn't a woodstove for times when we have someone taking care of our place. Thanks for sharing how reliable #BLUETTI system is for you. We are looking to get one for our van travel, and then in a year or two build a system like yours for our house. Hello Chuck, Seen your cabin build, and it is quite amazing. to have the solar system you have and the water set up is really interesting. I once had a cabin and had to hook up my truck to it to get electricity. Everything inside was 12volts. No water. congratulations on the great cabin setup. #BLUETTI
