  • We developed completely new software for the 1.5T B38 engine in the F40 generation, producing a whopping 195HP and 310NM. Car runs really smooth overall!
    Only did 1 run each, but a major difference.

    it depends a lot on outside temp, and atm pressure.

    The car can do from 8,3-8,4 0-100 and 16,2 quarter mile.Still an improvement with stage 1

    8.5 is the stock time for rwd F20, dunno how can the f40 make the same time. 9.7 seems realistic w/o Launch control (if present or enabled). I had a drag with my friend, and at the first 100m the f20 was ahead by one and a half car lenght. Same engine, wonder if the rwd can stay under 7 secs

      My f40 definitely feels faster than 10 seconds. I reckon it could go a little faster than the factory numbers. BMW tend to be conservative with the numbers

      @@DennisDinges sure, f40 imho can do better than 9 seconds, after all it’ s 140 hp car with a nice boost. What i was stating is only the rwd can do 4-5 tens better only because of the traction

      @@Taklaking_BS No one ensures that the same parts are installed in different engines, the B58 was designed for high boost and the B38 for fuel economy and, for example, engineers may have installed lightweight pistons for a three-cylinder engine. In addition to the engine design, keep in mind the differences in the turbo, exhaust manifold, and other equipment, they do not have the same safety factor as the B58 engine.

    • @berkperformance
      @berkperformance  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's about comparing 2 runs in the same way, not about using launch control which makes the tune even faster then. Nevertheless, this car doesn't have launch control at all, which is perfectly normal and fine for a FWD.

      You are doing it a little bit already during the second run. So, the difference between run 1 and run 2 should be smaller than you presented.
