    A lot of commentors don't know those are track/race pads. The are made to take a beaten like that and actually perform better under extreme temps which why you don't use them for driving on the street/ daily driver. They won't get hot enough to be effective.

    Just a word of warning i guess, following your track day in silly temps, I upgraded to a airtek stage 3 for snetterton a couple of weeks ago. Who said you have to bed disc pads in , i mind of my dad bedding in old drum brakes , so that when you apply brake , the shoes touch the drum all the way along length of shoes, the full 100% as the cylinder is only at top of backing disc,that was on trucks or cars , once they bed in you re-adjusted the shoe clearance, disc pads don,t pivot on anything , thus elimenating the need to bed in , as they come on square to the disc , normal driving and braking for a few miles will guarntee a dead flat contact. all your doing is wasteing money, excessive heat warps discs, cooks brake fluid causing soft spongy crap braking , and excessive wear of pads. Or is it ceramic pads , that have to be pretty warm. As it,s a st fiesta i don,t think it merits brakes like that. you only see brakes like that on supercars. Retired trade.

    • @Sparkplugsteve
      @Sparkplugsteve  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      OK il try and keep it simple. You bed a race pad in because the pad contacting just the disc is not effective enough. The bedding in process leaves a transfer layer of brake pad material on the disc. So when you brake the friction is higher as the pad is braking against its own compound rather than the metal. If you don't understand why I'm using a pad like this it's probably because you have never driven a fiesta st hard on track or done any track driving.

    This is beyond dumb. Yes, you can overheat brakes. That's a pretty trivial finding. Getting the discs glowing and then stopping is him getting even more stupid. You know that by using "Cheap Chinese Crafted Crap" parts you're not only putting your own life in jeopardy, but other persons around you, too? How in the world can you ever sleep comfortably again after having run over a pre-school-aged child due to poorly manufactured brake pads? Next time, invest a fistful of bucks in some decent roadworthy parts!

      @@Sparkplugsteve £340 for pads that catch on fire easily, really? Still, a safety hazard you can't deny! I'm doing 50'000 Km ( 32'000 UK miles ) per annum with LUCAS brake pads with mixed ( regional / long-distance ) journeys on a daily basis with frequent stops. Never had any problems with them to this day. And they're not as eXpens!ve as your CCCC!

      These are the best race pads money can buy for this car. Even when on fire they will still perform better than most pads. They have a heat rating up to about 800 degrees off memory. I got them to 450 and that's the temps I get them too on track also. I don't car for how many miles I get this car is for the race track so enduring heat is all I care about.

      Your Lack of knowledge and understanding is just baffling to me. Your more danger on a keyboard than I ever will be in a car.
